This gym is a great example of the balance of offering accessible, digestible training to initiates and outsiders, while also having the insight, atmosphere, and coaching to craft great fighters should they want to pursue competition. Really inspiring to see the work that comes out of here —for all age and experience levels, the spirit seems to be “Let’s Drill It!” This is the kind of local business that is a credit to the community, and I can’t wait to see them activate potential and inspire confidence in whoever comes to train!

I've been taking private lessons with Dylan for just under a year now and I've had nothing but positive experiences since starting last March. I've been learning a lot, getting leaner, and I always leave class in a better mood!

Apex Combat is a welcoming environment to people of every skill level. There are plenty of skilled strikers, grapplers, and mixed martial artists in the gym that always follow the gym culture. That culture is to help everyone become a better version of themselves through martial arts, and to never hurt your partner. Highly recommend learning under the skilled coaches here that want to help bring out that best version of you.

Have been training at APEX for over a year. All of the coaches here are extremely knowledgable and offer support and guidance no matter what your experience or goals may be. The members are very respectful and encouraging of your individual needs and goals as well. I promise you this place will quickly become a second home, and your peers will become family. Hands down the best place to train in the area. Come check it out!

Stopped in over the holidays to get some training in. All the people here are great, and James even stuck around for a minute after to clarify some technique he showed in class. Highly recommend stopping through, or picking this gym if you're looking for somewhere to train jiu jitsu in the Binghamton area.

Walked in on a whim with no prior experience and found myself immediately hooked (quite literally and figuratively). The environment is incredibly friendly and inclusive with all sorts of skill levels training at the gym; from competition fighters readying for their next bout, to more casual individuals looking for mental and physical health. Classes are well sized, always having a partner to run drills and pad work with, and often times multiple parters to spar with following the end of class. Everyone I’ve talked with, not limited to the instructors, has been incredibly helpful in explaining technique and offering constructive criticism. The atmosphere is professional and respectful, and is reverberated through the mentality of the students. All equipment is well maintained and top of the line, with plans for expansion in the works (weight room, cage etc.) To top it off, first time students attend for free with pads and gloves provided. If you been pondering the thought but haven’t committed to taking the leap, this is a great place to begin that journey.

I trained with these guys years ago and had an amazing experience. So, when my 13 year old son recently expressed an interest in boxing, I knew APEX was the place to go. He’s been enrolled for a few months now and it’s been nothing but positive experiences for him. His confidence as well as overall mood and energy have improved significantly. He is definitely learning and improving with each class, too. Thanks APEX!

I found the owners of this gym 9 years ago. I was unsure of myself and injured. They took the time and effort to help me heal my body and mind. Making me more confident and a skilled mixed martial artist. A two day planned activity turned into a 9 year journey. APEX Combat Sports is a welcoming environment and has a supportive and knowledgeable staff.

Great gym and staff, usually one of the only southpaws being taught during boxing classes and they always go out of their way to help explain concepts to me to make sure I understand. Class size varies but whoever is teaching that day always manages to make everyone feel comfortable and included.

I found Apex years ago and I was welcomed with open arms. Very friendly and inviting to all. The coaching staff is excellent and very knowledgeable. Whether you want to be a fighter or casually train all are welcome and if you do have fighting aspirations you won’t find a better group of people anywhere around. I’ve built many strong bonds with coach’s and students, I wouldn’t trade this gym for anywhere else. On top of everything else the prices are very reasonable. I recommend trying it out no matter what your goals. Give it a chance and give it time and you will be amazed at what you discover here.

If you have no experience and are just looking to hit some pads with no structure, then not a bad gym. However, if you are looking for something beyond mediocre amateur level training, look elsewhere.

All three of these “Coaches” that run this gym are not emotionally mature enough to actually run a good business, let alone run it in a professional manner. Two of the three seemed to have enjoyed feeding their own egos MORE than actually teaching people. The tall skinny one likes to put his hands on students off of the training floor too, wouldn’t recommend for anybody.
