First, let me start off by saying that KMAA is such a fun and safe environment! I joined KMAA at the age of 25 years old back in January 2025. I did some martial arts when I was about 9-10 years old at a different dojo in Salinas, but I knew when I decided to come back to martial arts that I wanted to find a new place that offered more of a variety and had more helpful instructors. That’s exactly what I found with KMAA! Although, at first I was honestly nervous to join since I’m an adult and there’s this sense of nervousness to join as an adult, but at KMAA everyone was very welcoming and friendly! Master Harold Morrison and his awesome family who assist him in instructing students have been very friendly, supportive, and really push everyone to build confidence, discipline, respect, and mental strength. They all make the time to help teach each student and their higher belt students are always respectful and more than willing to help their peers, it’s such a great reflection of the awesome instructors that taught them well. KMAA has helped me so much in and out of the dojo. I’m very grateful to all the instructors and my expectations have been exceeded! I even got my niece to join and she’s loving it! I highly recommend KMAA to people of all ages! If you’re a parent or an adult reading this for yourself, I highly recommend you give KMAA a try!

Highly recommended for all ages! We love KMAA like a family. While homeschooling, KMAA motivates its students to be physically and mentally active. It’s more than a year now and my kids are passionate to learn more. Master Harold is really encouraging and kind.

KMAA was the third martial arts place we tried. Master Harold truly loves what he does and it shows. He is absolutely amazing with all the kids helping them feel welcome and comfortable while also balancing the importance of discipline and respect. He has a wonderful family (wife, son and daughter) that help out and teach in the studio and they are always friendly and patient with everyone that comes in; which can sometimes be difficult to find in a family owned business. At first we had enrolled just our son at KMAA; a few months later we decided to enroll our two daughters as well. Don't waste your time with other studios, KMAA is the best, cleanest studio with the kindest teachers.

KMAA is like a new home to my son and I. We started this year and have love to attend our classes. We both have became more confident and i myself have been able to learn to control my anxiety more as well. My son has improved on being more social and is finally able to talk to other kids around him without feeling anxious as well. The best teachers I will say, they make you feel as family and are very very helpful and guide you in anything and everything you need. Joining KMAA has been the best decision I've made this year for both my son and I and we hope to grow more as time passes.

First time taking a self defense class and I had a great experience. All of the instructors are kind, patient and knowledgeable. It’s obvious they truly care about teaching the correct way so you leave with confidence in what you learned. This far exceeded my expectations for a self defense class, can’t recommend enough!

I am thrilled to share my positive experience with my daughter's Korean Martial Arts Academy. From the moment I enrolled her, I knew it was the right decision. What I love most about the academy is the emphasis on discipline, respect, and self-improvement. The instructors are incredibly skilled and dedicated, providing a supportive and encouraging environment for all students. Since joining the academy, my daughter has grown in so many ways. Not only has she become physically stronger and more agile, but she has also developed invaluable life skills such as perseverance, confidence, and resilience. The structured curriculum challenges her to push her limits and set goals for herself, fostering a sense of accomplishment and determination. Moreover, the academy fosters a strong sense of community among students and families. We have met wonderful people and formed lasting friendships through various events like Fun Night and other activities organized by the academy. Overall, I cannot speak highly enough of my daughter's Korean Martial Arts Academy. It has had a profoundly positive impact on her development, and I am grateful for the opportunity for her to learn and grow in such a supportive and empowering environment.

KMAA is a safe environment where everyone is welcomed. I was hesistant to begin classes because I felt too old, however everyone is super friendly and willing to help you learn. Regardless of the class size, the instructors always make time to help you and explain the different forms and techniques. There's a variety of class times and they even offer kickboxing for adults (such a great workout). I most definetly recommend KMAA!

Our 5 year old (now 6) started at KMAA 6 months ago with severe anxiety where he cannot join the group practices. After incredible patience, effort and understanding individual needs by Master Harold and his family, today even though he is little shy at the door, he can stay in a group with smile and pride the whole hour. This academy even saved us from taking our boy to behavioral counseling, killing 2 birds with 1 rock! I strongly believe KMAA is THE place to build healthy mind and body for all ages for sure. From little 3 year old to adults in the classes are friendly and well mannered. I hope ours will continue to practice many more years to come!

My son and I have been with Master Morrison since 2019. We both have learned so much, and have grown both physically and mentally. Everyone is treated like family and is always welcomed with open arms. Master Morrison and Kyosanim Debbie encourage us to continue to ask questions if we are ever unsure about anything. Both my son and I love the flexibility that the school has to offer. We plan to continue coming with no end in sight!

Harold has really helped our son gain confidence in himself and helped him tremendously in dealing with bullies. Harold runs a great structured class and no time for horseplay which we encountered alot at other studios. We are so thankful for joining and will be getting our other 3 children enrolled as soon as they are old enough, thank you again Harold for all you do, and to those reading this join now you will love it.

An excellent place for improving oneself in the field of martial arts. The environment is welcoming to people of all ages, backgrounds, and identities. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I got to spend working and learning with the others. The instructor was particularly attentive to newcomers and always took the time to bring you up to pace and help however you needed.

If you are thinking about having your child do taekwondo as an after-school activity, I strongly recommend that KMAA is your best choice. My daughter has been going here for 4 months now and my husband and I are very happy with it in many ways. First of all, my daughter is not only acquiring taekwondo skills but also getting balanced physical training almost every day. Second, I can see her confidence level is also growing with each lesson. Last but not least, Master Harold does his best to help all children of different levels reach their own achievements through detailed individual feedback. All staff is very friendly and helpful. They always make us feel welcome. My daughter used to do ballet and swimming before the pandemic, and KMAA is the first place that she's been saying, “It's fun!” from day one. She loves being here.

From the introduction Harold and his family has made this an welcoming place for our daughter. Harold is an awesome instructor. Regardless of class size he makes sure to address the needs and concerns of each student. If that means they need some one on one attention he makes sure they receive what they need. He is very detailed and provides structure , skill and confidence that she carries with her daily. I am very thankful we have found KMAA. Our daughter is so excited about her classes and what she is learning that she talks and demonstrates to her friends at school. She is proud of the things she has learned and accomplished and we are extremely grateful!!!!

I love KMAA in Salinas, today they tested students and we ran a few minutes late. My 4 year old was dressed and ready but when we arrived she saw all the students and didn't want to take the floor. I fought with her as much as I could but she wasn't having it. So I told her let's go, as we were walking out Sa Bum Nim (Korean for Instructor) called to my daughter and told her to come back in and she went. He went on to give instructions and long story short she leveled up. My point is they are so patient and in touch with each student. They know how to meet each student where they are, the attention to detail is remarkable. There was another student holding a board for the other student to break it, again Sa Bum Nim knowing his students took the board and held it to allow the one student to break it. They are very good and I trust them with my 4 year and I would encourage anyone to give them a try and trust them and their methods of training.

We brought our daughter here just to try it out, to see if she would like it. We were welcomed by Master Harold and his family. My daughter has not left since. We have been here for about a year. She has made new friends. She looks forward to practices. Everytime she tested for the next level you can see her build more confidence in herself. I never thought my daughter would be able to break boards lol say what!! If your wondering what karate class you should take your child to, start here. Harold is an amazing instructor and takes pride in what he does. I wish we would have came sooner.

My son has been going for about 3 months now, and I’ve already noticed a big change. He’s learning new techniques and gaining confidence at the same time. It’s carrying over into other areas in his life, such as riding a bike (strength and balance). I’m very grateful for everything that he’s picking up, and will be enrolling my youngest two, when they are old enough.
