The people, training, and atmosphere at GAMA are second to none. I started training at another school before moving to GAMA and can say, without any doubt, that the quality of training and people here are the absolute best.

Best community of BJJ enthusiasts in the city of Baltimore. Come for the free trial. Stay for self defense, competitive BJJ, exercise, becoming the best version of you that you didn't know exists. The youth program is unmatched. Bring your kids, watch them grow into confident young adults with self confidence, discipline and respect. The only thing you will regret is starting later in life. Adult program is amazing. Best instructors around. Military, police, fire dept friendly...

If you’re looking to give Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a try in a welcoming, family friendly environment, look no further than GAMA! If you’re serious about competition, or just want a casual and challenging new hobby, to get in shape and learn some self defense skills and make new friends, there’s a place for everyone here. Plenty of kids classes too. Greg, the owner and head instructor, is a good guy who is passionate about martial arts, sharing his knowledge with his students, and recognizes that everyone coming in is an individual with their own goals and challenges. Come for your 2 week free trial and you’ll find yourself coming back again and again and wondering “how long until my next class?”

Great instruction from Greg and his students who all teach elements of their own game. The environment is friendly for the member and the student alike. Their open mats can be mellow or challenging to match what you want out of your practice.

My 6 year old boy goes here and he loves it! Couch Greg is really patient with all the kids. He also remembers names. We will be going here for a long time.

GAMA is an awesome place to train! I had trained BJJ previously and left my previous gym, I joined Grapple Academy and got right back into it. The other students and instructors treated me great with being from another gym. There are plenty of different classes for all ages and levels of martial arts. Very friendly people. Coach Greg is a great instructor as well as the others who come and teach.

Checked out all the local schools before settling on this one. Greg is an awesome teacher and is always enthusiastic about what he is doing. Can't recommend GAMA enough if you want to get in shape or want to seriously train jiujitsu. There is a range of experience from beginner to very high level. There is also a huge woman's program. I decided to join in January and now regularly attend 3-5 classes a week. You will absolutely love this place if you want a challenge and a great workout.

I've been going to Grapple Academy since November 2014. I started out doing the Cardio Kickboxing classes which are fun, sweaty, and as a bonus, teaches you proper boxing technique. I then decided to be brave and take the women's only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class and it has been awesome! I am not the strongest person in the world and I was afraid I wasn't going to be very good, but after a couple months, although I'm still learning, I have developed a confidence and an inner strength I never knew I had. Coach Greg is amazing. You can tell he has passion and loves what he does, not to mention he is very talented. His patience and great teaching has helped me develop my skill and technique. The environment is inviting and they offer many classes. They have Cardio Kickboxing, a women's only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class, a beginners BJJ mixed class, adult BJJ class, a variety of children's classes, and more! Coach Greg even does private lessons! From experienced to beginner, Whether you are serious and looking to train and complete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or just want a fun and challenging workout. Group setting or one on one....Grapple Academy is the place!

I've been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Greg since my very first time trying the sport, two years ago. He helped get me comfortable with the sport initially, coached me in my first tournament, and has continued to help me develop my technique and passion for the sport from white belt to blue belt. I cannot recommend this gym enough, whether you've never tried BJJ or you're looking for a great place to develop your current training. Grapple Academy is an open, inviting environment where anyone can learn and enjoy the benefits of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (not to mention you won't get a better deal). The cardio kickboxing classes are awesome, too! If you don't give this place a try, you are missing out!

My husband and I both attend Grapple Academy Martial Arts. My husband does Brazilian Jiu Jitsu there and has gotten into great shape while learning new skills that help him out with wrestling, his other hobby. I go to the Cardio Kickboxing class and it is an excellent workout! It is easy to follow for someone that doesn't have any prior kickboxing experience and is actually a lot of fun. I recommend checking this place out!
