I’ve been training at Atomic for over 4 years and I can honestly say it’s been an amazing experience! Professor Adrian Trevino is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate in training the art of self-defense with jiu-jitsu. The training environment is welcoming and supportive, making it easy to grow both as a practitioner and a person. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student, there’s always something to learn. The community here is truly special, and I highly recommend Atomic Jiu-Jitsu!!

Atomic has been an incredible experience for my daughter. It has given her the confidence and self-esteem she needed while also teaching her a skill that will benefit her for life. She’s learning how to overcome obstacles and challenges, both on and off the mat. I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a way to help their child grow in resilience and self-assurance!

The team at Atomic is stellar! Deb makes me feel welcome every time I walk through the door, and Wendi and Anne are so patient. You can tell they truly care that you absorb what they're teaching and that no one gets left behind. I love that they offer multiple women's classes throughout the week. It makes being a newbie in martial arts so much more approachable as a lady.

We had a group from church to come try a beginner class and despite it being a first time for a few of us it was really fun. The coaches were very engaging and I feel like we all walked away with a bunch of new knowledge from the first class. Special shout out to instructor Lou and professor Adrian for getting us set up here, I’m sure at least a couple of us will be returning members!

Review Update: After nearly a year away from Atomic Jiu-Jitsu, I wanted to add to the review I posted eight months ago. Training at a new school for the past eight months has given me an even deeper appreciation for Professor Trevino. The time and dedication he pours into his students—myself included, even from a distance, with no expectations in return—is truly unmatched. Every glowing review about Atomic Jiu-Jitsu is spot on. It’s more than just a school; it’s a family and a remarkable community. I’m incredibly grateful to have trained there and can’t wait to visit next time I’m in Austin. Original Review: Atomic Jiu-Jitsu is not just a world-class self defense academy, where everyone is welcome and everyone feels like family. It is those things, however it’s so much more. The atmosphere that Professor Adrian has built, is one that mirrors his own personality, which is genuine, strong, motivated and empathetic. As well as his teaching, which is not just about martial arts, but how to become the best version of yourself on and off the mats. He also gives all of himself to the school and his students. I consider him and everyone at Atomic my family, and I highly recommend training with Professor Trevino any chance you get!

I recently celebrated my child's 6th birthday at Atomic Jiu-Jitsu in Buda, Texas, and it was an outstanding experience. The staff—Deb, Will, and Cassie—were exceptional, ensuring the event was memorable for everyone involved. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the Nerf battles, freeze tag, and various engaging games. All of the attendees had a fantastic time, and I couldn't have asked for a better venue to host the party. I highly recommend Atomic Jiu-Jitsu for anyone looking to host a memorable and action-packed children's party. 5 out of 5 stars!

I have loved my expirence at atomic! I have been taking the Jiu Jitsu 101 classes and the woman’s self defense class (Women’s Warriors) for a few months now. As a woman, it is very empowering knowing I have a skill set now to protect myself if I ever needed to do so. I definitely recommend this program to all woman and anybody looking to pick up a new hobby.

I have been coming to the beginner classes for a couple of months now and it has been so worth it! Everyone on the team here is super kind and welcoming. Professor Trevino is very knowledgeable and willing to help. All of the Coaches for the Monday/Wednesday jiu-jitsu classes make it very enjoyable to learn and have fun. Deb is the best and made the daunting idea of starting jiu-jitsu a very easy transition. If anyone is on the fence about giving this place a shot, it is definitely worth your time!

My kids (9M & 5F) and I (39F) have been training at Atomic for over a year. What started as a confidence builder for my son quickly turned into a way of life for us all. I've seen my children's self-esteem and assertiveness blossom in this community. My daughter uses her voice and advocates for herself as a direct result of her training. Jiu-Jitsu has not just been a physical endeavor for us, it has impacted how we relate to the world. I began in the Women's Warriors self-defense program, where I found community and challenged my comfort zone. I learned that I am capable of much more than I thought possible and have continued to grow in the coed 101 classes. The instructors meet you where you are. They push you to improve. They challenge your self-limiting tendencies and foster an environment where it is 100% okay to fail! If you've ever considered training, do it. It really has been life changing for us.

I started at Atomic about 2 months, after seeing an immediate impact on my son. Although I did two semesters of judo in college, I am a novice in the art. The 101 class is an outstanding experience. The certified instructors are patient and break down the moves into easy-to-understand parts. There is a consistent focus on learner comprehension and understanding. At the end of each class, the reflex development (RDU) provides an opportunity to put the moves together and see how the flow works. However, the single best part of Atomic is the community. It starts from the top, with Professor Adrian, Coach Wendy, and Ms. Deb. It continues down to the coaches, and then to the higher belts, all the way to the brand-new white belts. I am 47 years old, and I have rarely felt so connected to a place and a people as those at Atomic. Jonathan S.

I stopped by to visit for a couple BJJ classes. The people there are very friendly and welcoming. The facility is really cool as well, with several rooms to accommodate BJJ and Muay Thai. The BJJ 101 classes teach very solid fundamentals and the advanced class has a great pace to it as well. Rolling with the advanced folks it’s very clear they know their stuff. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the South Austin/Buda area.

Everyone there is like a family, they are patient, kind and really care about the success of the students. Adrian and Wendy (owners) are very hands on and supportive. There are a ton of places to choose from. We had three on our list to try out. Atomic was our first and last! There was no question from out first visit that Atomic was the best! Atomic has been a wonderful experience! My two boys started with their 2-week (which is generous as most places have only 1) free trial and have become members. They are really enjoying every moment of it and look forward to their twice-weekly classes. The staff are all so welcoming and knowledgeable, making you feel comfortable. The facility is clean, with great hygienic habits such as having everyone wipe their feet prior to getting on the mat, which is appreciated. The instructors provide structured lessons, which I find helpful since my kids are very engaged and take their class seriously. Atomic provides a good balance of fun (warm-up sessions, dodgeball, etc.) and dedicated time to focus on techniques. I really appreciate Atomic's bullying prevention program. I hope down the road they can bring back the kids kickboxing class! As my kids are getting settled with BJJ, I am now exploring my own journey at Atomic. I am so grateful the women's classes are at the same time as Jr. Warriors. Thank you and keep up the great environment Atomic provides. Go and talk to Ms. Deb today!

I've been going here 8-9 months, its sincerely like a second family! Everyone is so helpful, encouraging, and supportive. My daughter goes with me and all the coaches always take her side when she’s twisting me up! Professor Adrian always keeps a close eye on everything during class. His main goal is to keep everyone safe, and ensure that you learn the techniques correctly. Same with all of the coaches, Joe, Ryan x2, Victor, and there’s a bunch I’m not naming so I apologize, but everyone is on the same page. They want to make sure you are doing everything with proper technique so you don’t hurt yourself or your partner. I love this place and I’ve made so many good friends. Atomic Jiu-Jitsu is an outstanding academy with an excellent kids’ program. We tried 5 other academies’ kids programs in Austin. Atomic Jiu-Jitsu is superior in these areas: 1. World-class instruction (Black belt professor ALWAYS on the mat - he’s a very gifted teacher.) 2. Very safe and clean environment (the cleanest BJJ academy I’ve ever seen. Safety clearly emphasized in every class). 3. Structured curriculum with clearly defined objectives and progression 4. Character development opportunities through extra curricular, fun and engaging activities. 5. Opportunities for parents and family to be involved in their kid’s journey, and even their own martial arts journey (Atomic has programs for the whole family - i.e. women only classes.) We highly recommend Atomic Jiu-Jitsu.

I have been training with Professor Treviño for more than six years. He has a photographic memory for detail and is a wonderful, technical, supportive, and appropriately demanding instructor. But far beyond that, Atomic Jiu Jitsu is not just an academy to learn how to protect yourself and your family with effective techniques, it is also a school where you can learn to compete if that is what you want to do. But most of all, it is a school where you can build a community of friends who are there for you during class and outside of class too. Whole families of all ages train here, I do with my two boys. Learning something new, spending time with your blood and Atomic family, and getting in a great workout - it doesn’t get any better than this!

I am constantly surprised and learning at Atomic Jujitsu…even in the kids class. At my kids class today he introduced an inventive program for manners, courtesy and respect. Simple, but a skill I feel this world is losing and desperately needs. We have been at another gym for a few years and my kids (<10) and I just started and we already feel welcome and at home. The owner, Adrian Trevino loves jujitsu and has the heart of a teacher and instills this passion in his coaching staff while training students. His leadership is amazing to watch and train under. My family and I are excited to continue our jujitsu journey with Atomic.

The instructors, team and community at Atomic is wonderful, and our son is gaining so much more than just "classes," but also character, consistency, discipline, friendship, and fun! The instruction provided by the team is extremely detailed and demonstrated to make sure everyone grasps the techniques being taught. Private lessons with the black belt are also available and I get even more out of those one on one lessons. The realistic techniques taught have opened my eyes to how very little self defense I had learned training solely sport jiu jitsu. The environment here is positive and family friendly. Our family strongly recommends Atomic Jiu-Jitsu! At Atomic Jiu-Jitsu you get more than martial arts lessons you get motivational speaking, self discipline courses, and lessons that instill honor and respect in your child. The value our family receives at Atomic Jiu-Jitsu is unmeasurable. The martial arts lessons are taught in a positive manner with focus on repetition of the correct move and never on the negative aspects of what a child has done wrong. But the value of each course goes beyond learning moves on the mat. They teach true life skills about the value of being a worthy adversary and finding worthy adversaries to improve your personal skill set. And it is all taught in an age appropriate manner. Atomic Jiu-Jitsu is perfect for our 6-year-old son and he has loved it for nearly a full year. Our son would go every day if we could take him.

I can count how many reviews I’ve written on just 3 fingers. I’m taking the time here because I’ve been so impressed with the culture and leadership at Atomic. My son has been training for several months, and I’m realizing I’ve been training too. Coach Adrian’s positive approach to teaching is downright inspiring. It’s something I’ve been able to take home with me and make part of my parenting strategy. He’s not just training for Jiu Jitsu/Muay Thai; he’s building a community of discipline and citizenship. You can judge a leader by the leaders they develop. Each coach uses the same positive approach that makes this place so special. This is not a babysitting hour. Coach Adrian, believe it or not, is not in it for the money. If students are not making the effort required and are perpetually distracting the class, they won’t be at Atomic for long. This is refreshing and demonstrates the focus and effort Coach Adrian and his team have for students. Last thing, I’d highly recommend coming to a class, and when you do, watch Coach Adrian’s son! It’s all the proof you’ll need to know you are in the right place! Everyday my kid impresses me with new skills he's learning. Can't wait for my daughters be old enough to join!

From the moment I began the Women’s Empowerment classes I knew it was the place for me, as well as my young children. Wonderful instructors, caring and compassionate staff (ahem DEB), and a large group of other like minded women and men who are there to learn, gain confidence, and spread the positivity. My kids truly enjoy the balance of learning fundamentals while getting sillies out in the fun filled games the coach pulls off. How they have the energy I will never know. Facilities are clean, people are laid back, helpful, and always there for questions and to assist you in your journey. Wherever that may lead. Enrolling myself and my children was a game changer, and I hope to be here as long as they will have us. I personally have an enormous shift in my confidence when handling situations at a high stress job, as well as out in public. Again, the best decision I ever made.

The facility is amazing, the staff are knowledgeable, kind, and make you feel so very welcome. The other students are also patient and help each other out. All in all, I recommend learning jiu-jitsu and muay thai for both kids and adults from Adrian and his staff over everyone else out there.

My son is not a great candidate for team sports but he loves going to jiujitsu. It’s very good for his self-esteem. The coaches also take time to discuss leadership and life skills and tie the philosophy of jiujitsu in with these valuable traits these children are learning. Even better yet, my son enjoys his class-mates and looks forward to his lessons.

As a mom I came in looking for a place for my son to practice martial arts and was immediately impressed with the lessons and variety of classes available for all ages and skill level. The 10 day trial was an awesome way to come into the classes and find what works best for you. I joined the Women’s Empowerment program and it has been a huge help for my self confidence. My family is here at least 3-4 times a week and every class has been so well structured, informative but most of all friendly and fun! The gym itself is spotless and there are great hygiene protocols in place. I highly recommend this gym to both kids and adults but especially women. This is a wonderful, safe place for you to learn and practice self defense!

Love this place my son's been going to it for about a year now. The class is really taught him patience and how to deal with certain situations whether he's at school or at home or somewhere else. Big thanks to Miss Deb she keeps everything together.

My son and I both attend classes here at Atomic and I can’t say enough great things about this place and the people. At Atomic I am able to get a workout, learn practical skills and they truly treat everyone like family. I have seen so much improvement in my son from both in his Muay Thai and jiu-jitsu skills and his proactive behavior at home.

Fantastic training and facility. My whole family trains there multiple times a week. The bully proof program is perfect for all school age children. The Women Empowered program is amazing and gives my wife confidence in how to handle a variety of situations, perfect for women wanting to learn self defense. All of the instructors are top notch and are truly passionate about teaching Jiu-Jitsu. We all enjoy training at Atomic Jiu-Jitsu.

I just started training at Atomic Jiu jitsu a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the level of instruction and hospitality they offer. When I found out they taught the Gracie University Curriculum, that was all I needed to know to give them a try. When i found out how kind and knowledgable of the Gracie Jiu Jitsu way Professor Adrian was, I knew I needed to commit to training here. I've never been to a more welcoming Jiu jitsu school (or any martial arts school). Absolutely zero pressure when taking advantage of the 10 day trial. Huge shoutout to Deborah, who really made me feel welcomed and at home there from day 1. She made the trial and enrollment process very easy for me. Lastly, I want to comment on how clean and well maintained the facility is. Every-time I arrive, the place looks spotless. Super clean bathrooms and a beautifully maintained training area. Not to mention their hygienic protocols for everyone really makes me feel safe training there. I seriously look forward to continuing my Jiu Jitsu Journey with everyone at Atomic jiu jitsu!

We have had great success with our experience at Atomic Jiu jitsu in Buda, Texas! Our children are developing great confidence and coordination that is gently fostered through the kind and highly effective discipline of their coaches. The coaches have shown personal interest in our children, investing much time and consideration to determine the best approach to use with my 9 and 11 year old. The energy and heart that these coaches bring to each training session is unmatched. I was shocked at how quickly less desirable behaviors subsided at home. My children are much more focused. Our son was unable to leave the house and be around unfamiliar people due to personal challenges that he faces prior to his introduction to Atomic. Now, he looks forward with tremendous excitement to training 4 days a week. Physically, my children are stronger. Emotionally, my children are stronger. Socially, my children are learning how to rejoin society during this post pandemic reemergence. I cannot express how much we love these coaches who have taken our boys under their wing with all the concern of family. There isn’t a better economic value as well. I highly recommend Atomic Jiujitsu!

Super clean, friendly, as interested in my kid's character as they are in teaching kickboxing and jiu-jitsu. No yelling or macho posturing, just patient instruction from teachers who know what they're doing and make my kid feel welcome and safe. Some whole families attend - women-only classes, mixed classes, kids classes. Very family oriented. Recommend without hesitation.

My 7 year old daughter goes to the bully proof class twice a week and loves it! Coach Ly and Coach Christina have an amazing talent at balancing keeping the kids engaged, being extremely patient, and teaching them at the same time. She’s learning so much not only about defending herself but also about responsibility, discipline, and kindness. This will be a lifelong sport for my daughter for sure!
