We Don't Create Hobbies — We Create Legacies Blue Collar Grappling Academy was built on working-class values. Founders Chase Smith and Nathan met in 2018 and opened BCGA to bring quality Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Crittenden County — building the gym while holding down full-time jobs, and living the discipline they teach. We're proud members of the Pedigo Submission Fighting Association. Our classes teach self-defense, competition jiu-jitsu, and personal fitness — but most importantly, we grow together as a community and have fun doing it. Our attention to detail rivals no other, because we never stop improving and we push others to do the same. Come meet the family — we can't wait to help you build something that lasts. Coaches

Chase Smith
Chase Smith Head Coach Owner

Owner & Head Coach. Chase discovered his passion for jiu-jitsu through mixed martial arts. As a family man and blue-collar worker, he spent years balancing work, home, and his hobby — until the dream of owning a gym began to take shape. Today he's committed to inspiring and supporting the next generation of grapplers, right here in his own community.

Nathan
Nathan Owner

Co-Owner & Coach. Nathan spent years lifting in the gym and setting personal goals, but eventually realized those goals no longer challenged him. That's when he discovered jiu-jitsu, and his passion for the discipline grew. He set a new goal — to share that same love with others. His dream was to bring jiu-jitsu to Crittenden County and serve the community that calls it home.

This is a fantastic gym filled with people who genuinely want to help you grow and challenge you to become better, both in BJJ and in life. Chase and Nathan are exceptional coaches who bring knowledge, encouragement, and dedication to the academy.

I just experienced Blue Collar Grappling Academy for the first time! I was in town for a meeting and was invited by a friend. Chase, & Nathan welcomed me in like I was part of the family. The instruction was awesome! I learned new techniques, and had a blast rolling! I highly recommend anyone interested in Jui Jitsu or just passing thru to try BCGA!!

BCGA has changed my life for the better!! Great training programs that work if you do. Great family atmosphere that encourages you while holding you accountable to reach your goals. They care more about the member than the membership. That means a lot!

BCGA is the best group of people and has been a great environment for my family. Our 5 year old is thriving, breaking out of his shell, and developing a lot of skills and confidence.

Blue Collar Grappling Academy is an incredible place to train!! It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced grappler, new, been out of it a while, or a world champ. The coaching is top tier and the atmosphere can’t be matched. Everyone is there to get better with no egos. The entirety of the gym wants you to get better and succeed. I’ve trained at a lot of gyms and this one is the best. I don’t want to train anywhere else and I wouldn’t trust anyone more with the development of my five year old son.
