  I’ve trained at Zangief Jiu Jitsu several times while visiting Las Vegas, and it’s a great gym. The facility is spacious, clean, and has plenty of mat space, showers, and easy parking. It’s located near food options, and just outside the craziness of the Strip. Gabriel Checco, the owner, is skilled and professional both as an instructor and competitor. I’ve had the chance to work around him on several grappling promotions, and he’s always respectful, professional, and brings intensity to to the show. David Gill is also a fantastic instructor, creating a welcoming environment for anyone walking through the door. They offer quality training in both gi and no-gi, and they care about the community—they’ve hosted open mats supporting the veteran non-profit, We Defy Foundation. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in town and want a solid place to train.

  Train here now! When I’m in Vegas for work I always stop in. The upper belts are super technical and when rolling hard it never felt unsafe. Technical, friendly, welcoming. One of the instructors even helped me with getting laundry access for my gi while visiting. Felt like family.

  Wow..this place is amazing!!! I don’t even know where to start of. We decided to sign our 9 year old son for JiuJitsu and based on raving reviews inquired at Zangief JiuJitsu. Got response right away from coach Gabe who invited us for free week of classes. Location is super close and convenient to our house. We were happy to find this is not a regular gym but rather a big family that trying to help each other in any way possible. Kids got unbelievable personal attention during the entire class from coach Gabe and another higher belt coach all the time. There is a hidden gem too.. :)) Taekwondo classes 3 times a week with highly skilled and very personable coach Yami, who is also a active JiuJitsu competitor. I love it so much that I’ve decided at 48 years to start JiuJitsu classes too and signed in along with my son with the adults. Amount of talent in this gym is unmatched in my opinion and you can never going to encounter a big egos or intimidation of any kind…Thank you for the amazing environment!

  This place really pushes u to 100%. My growth sky rocketed after I started attending this school. I really recommend this place as there is no tense barrier around the higher belts and the lower belts and they treat each other like family.

  By far the best atmosphere I’ve ever been in. This place has a tremendous presence of peace. Everyone here that I meet has a humble attitude and is very polite, respectful, and pleasant. Coach Gabriel is an amazing athlete and instructor. He not only trains for his own professional fight, but he is there day to day giving class, giving personal tips for improvement and keeps the place clearer then some restaurants.   This is great place to train. Coach Gabe is very friendly and of course extremely knowledgeable. I've attempted to train BJJ at other gyms but immediately felt like it's a "cult of douchers" and I didn't belong. This place is different, from day one I felt welcomed by all members from black belt to other white belts. Everyone is willing to help and provide advise.

  Started my BJJ journey with Gabriel and his team at Zangief Jiu Jitsu about 5 months ago at the age of 41. This academy will push and motivate you to be the best version of yourself. I highly recommend Zangief BJJ for anyone looking to get out of their comfort zone and train BJJ. Almost forgot to mention that my 8 year old son trains there as well. The kids BJJ anti-bullying program is great. Get your kids off the couch and away from screens.

  It’s a great gym with a family environment. Both myself and my 6 year old son train here. Their kids program alternates days of tae kwondo and Jiu Jitsu, which keeps him engaged and learning. Gabe is a great instructor that has helped me improve my Jiu Jitsu tremendously.

  I tried a class and signed up the same day. Everyone at this Jiu Jitsu gym made it feel welcoming from day 1. Gabriel has established a team culture and that is apparent when you walk in this gym. The gym is clean and there are no egos here.

  The coach is probably the friendliest human you can be blessed to meet and his knowledge of the sport and martial art of Brazilian jiu jitsu is top tier; if you have kids, he’s an amazing instructor for kids too this is the same place to put them in to learn self defence.

  I gave Zangief 5 stars only because I can’t give 6! Gabriel is a phenomenal instructor and the students are all friendly and helpful. I started here after I retired. So if you’re older, don’t use age as an excuse. I have two fake hips as well, so don’t use injuries as an excuse. Wherever you are in your life, Gabriel will meet you at the door and get you where you want to be. Top notch training and a positive vibe!

  I had back injury in March and it led me to gain quite a bit of weight. Today I completed the 6 week jiu jitsu challenge at Zangief Jiu Jitsu gym. I lost 16lbs of body fat and gained 4lbs of muscle. I went from 35.5% body fat to 29.2%. By no means am I done losing weight I plan on losing another 10lbs but I feel great and am really enjoying the new discipline of martial arts. If you are considering starting Jiujitsu I highly recommend Zangief! Gabriel Checco the head instructor is a great teacher and does a great job of making the lessons easy to understand.

  We go for the Tae Kwon Do classes. Here, the is a great family environment and the Tae Kwon Do instructor gives the kids a lot of fun as well as a hard work and very rigorous training. This is a place where kids maintain an appropriate behavior and discipline not only in training class but also at home and school.
