This place is truly great. My sons started here last year and have continued with it. They both look forward to going to class, schedule conflicts do happen, but my sons always really miss it when they are unable to go. My kids have never done another sport, so this has been a great introduction to a group setting with discipline, hard work, and fun, under a great and caring team.
For years, we have had our kids attend this school. They are more confident and stronger for it. We highly recommend them as they push their students and make them work hard.
My five year old daughter loves this gym, she is learning important values and life skills in a fun friendly respectful manner. *Update my 13 year old is still a proud member of this dojo. She has learned and keeps learning valuable life skills. After 8 years I am still just as impressed with this Dojo. I watched my child and teammates grow so much! It has truly been an honor to watch these kids grow under such a great teacher. This is a great family business that will teach you and your family self defense in a kind and caring non-judgmental environment. I am very happy my kid stuck with it and can't wait until they earn a black belt and "the real journey begins".
This dojo is wonderful. I have 3 boys that have all been through the gamut of Tae Kwon Do in this city, much to my chagrin. I would have pulled them out of TKD early, but frankly, they all had a goal to get their black belt, and we pursued it. That being said, their is no gifted black belt at this dojo. You earn it. The discipline is real. You're not wearing 19 layers of pads, having your kid mimmick the Michelin man, and you don't get a belt promotion every month. If you want the best dojo, come here. If you're looking to buy a participation trophy, then go elsewhere.

My daughter has been attending Hisardut classes for almost 3 years now. Tomer has been a great teacher and she has really grown into the discipline. Not your average martial arts school and not an MMA gym either. Tomer teaches the same style they teach the Israeli National Army and it is as much about defense as it is about offense. I am very happy with how my daughter is doing and looking forward to her enjoying Hisardut for a lifetime.
Let me summarize this. If you have children, and you want them to go through life with self-esteem, self-confidence and amazing fitness, then this is the place. I have three children, and I've seen lots of martial arts studios. Most of them aren't more than baby sitting. Israeli Martial Arts is something special. Consider there are only two authentic, certified Israeli Studios in the United States, and we are lucky enough to have one right in our back yard! The fitness my kids gain from this program is amazing. The self-defense aspect is probably the best training you can get in this country. This is the real deal. With only two true Israeli Certified Studios in the United States, with real, hardcore Israeli instructors.. then you have to check this place out.

Israeli Martial Arts Center is a great Dojo , family oriented place ,with a pledge on Teaching good self defense approach ,Doesn't matter what is your skill level or previous martial arts experience , you will learn and expand dexterity here . Sensei Tomer Leigh Steinberg is a perfectionist who put a lot of energy in teaching you good defense techniques applicable to any real life cisrcumstances ,he teaches Hisardut ,a unique combination of Judo ,Kyokushin Kararte and Jujitsu ,plus multiples techniques for knife defense and weapon disarming .The utter philosophy of Hisardut revolves around self defense better than traditional competitive martial arts .As a perk during each training section you also going to enjoy a workout equivalent to cross fit drills, improving your competitive fitness .
Center for Israeli i Martial Arts (Hisardut) is great for all ages. This marital art not only challenges you physically, but mentally as well. The owners create a strong family atmosphere and strive to build character in all their students. Be prepared to work and grow!
My daughter and I have been training with the Steinberg family for about a year. We love the family atmosphere. You will not "buy" any belts here. You earn them. The Center For Israeli Martial Arts is not a franchise with profit as its main priority. That is why we will train there in the future.
This school (Center For Israeli Martial Arts) is the best school to recieve training at...whether it's for MMA/competition training, self defense/street survival tactics and weapons defense or for physical fitness and strength training. The specialized training and real time sparring sessions help condition the students mind to study a given situation and control the emotions needed to neutralize the threat as safely as possible. I've trained under 3 different instructors and schools/styles. Hisardut and the Center For Israeli Martial Arts is the Best School and provides the most authentic and real life training.
The Center for Israeli Martial Arts is a safe and fun way to learn the principles of Martial Arts. This style incorporates four different arts. Not only do you learn how to defend yourself in "real life" situations, it is also a great work out. It is very family oriented. I would recommend the Center for Israeli Martial Arts to children and women as well. I have learned a tremendous amount of karate, jiu jitsu, aikido and judo in a short period of time. I enjoy the discipline and the fundamental teachings of martial arts. I am happy to be a part of the Hisardut family.
