My 6yo son has been going to Woodstock BJJ for over a year now and absolutely loves being there. The coaches are very kind, patient and friendly to all the kids and generally love being around kids. Ryan and Reece create a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere to all newcomers. I, myself, have joined the women’s class and have been having a great time learning the sport. As a woman in a male dominate sport, I have never felt out of place or unwelcome. If you’re on the fence on whether to try this gym, they allow a free trial week so see if you (or your kids) would enjoy. I highly recommend this place.

I have been training at Woodstock BJJ Academy for about six months and my son has been joining the tots class for a little while longer. We both love it! The coaches are very kind and are always patient with the students. They are also very talented and many of them also have training in other martial arts like judo. I have no patience for BS fake martial arts and this is totally legit. All the blue belts and up (and quite frankly most of the white belts too) can absolutely destroy me at will, but will usually let me work and give me tips if I’m stuck on something. Stripes and belts are NOT given out Willy Nilly, when you get one you have earned it, and man does it feel good. 10/10 Super wholesome environment, everyone I have trained with is chill and kind. Strongly recommend! Also the gym is always clean, and it doesn’t smell bad in there like other gyms I’ve been to.

Great place to train! It's such an opportunity to have this in our town. Woodstock BJJ has a depth of coaching talent to offer a strong range of knowledge and opportunity to develop your BJJ game. Since opening in Woodstock my Son and I and now our nephew have signed up and look forward to hitting the mats as often as we can! If you want the best workout you have ever had and meet a new great community I suggest dropping in for a class.

I can't speak highly enough about the environment and culture at Woodstock BJJ. I wasn't sure what to expect joining a gym for a combative sport, and I had read stories from people who found gyms to be ego driven and unsafe. Needless to say, Woodstock BJJ is not like that. The coaches are knowledgeable and invested in our success, but not at the expense of safety or longevity. Everyone is extremely friendly, and looking to have fun while the better themselves. Also, it's the single best source of cardio I have ever found. I highly recommend coming in for the free week. See it for yourself!

I was nervous to join Woodstock BJJ, especially since it was my first martial arts gym, but I’m genuinely grateful I did. Training here over the last month has been a really positive experience. Everyone has been welcoming and patient, which made it easy to settle in and start learning. I’ve already noticed improvements in my discipline, stamina, and how I approach things — not only on the mat but also in my home and work life. Even simple habits like staying hydrated have improved. It feels good to be doing this, and I’m glad I finally started. I really appreciate the community you’ve built.
