Great vibes!!! Everybody is so nice and supportive, which is important when it comes to training long term. Super safe environment with a solid curriculum that forces you to get really comfortable with the positions the professors teach. I came from 7+ years without practicing and was fully welcomed by the team! Highly recommend if you are feeling the urge to get back or just overall curious about the sport/lifestyle.

My kids have been doing BBJ with Professor Renan and & coach Priscylla and I can’t recommend them enough!!! The place is very organized and clean, all staff very friendly and welcoming. They are truly incredible with the kids and I had the opportunity myself to participate in a women seminar for self defense and I had the best time with priceless lessons and skills I will carry to my life! As I said, I can’t recommend it enough!!

Really cool gym. I felt a warm welcome even though Vital Brothers is not my home gym, and they were very attentive as to how I did the drills we were assigned, and they also payed close attention to see if everything was ok. The environment as a whole in the gym was pretty welcoming to me as an outsider. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone that is thinking about trying out Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

If you want to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, this is the best place to do so. The professor is amazing. He takes the time to teach you in a way that connects to you. Renan is the real deal, just google him. Not only is he an amazing martial artist but he is also an amazing teacher. I am so glad that I found this place. The classes are structured and the other students are fantastic. It’s always a little nerve racking to show up the first time and not knowing what to expect. As soon as I walked in they made me feel welcomed. The other students went out of their way to help me learn. This place is by far the best place in this area for BJJ. I highly recommend it.

I met Renan while a white belt, shortly after he moved to Ventura CA to pursue a successful competing and teaching career in the US over a decade ago. Spending 3-5 days going to his group classes and doing 1-2 privates per week, I learned SO MUCH from him over the years... eventually earning my Black Belt from him. Not only is Professor Renan a world class competitor, but he is also one of the finest teachers around. He treats everyone with the utmost respect and in all the years I spent training with him, he always has a smile on his face. We were all saddened when he moved to Florida that we lost a great friend and teacher. Students attending his new Academy will be in excellent hands and are very lucky to be in the presence of humble greatness!
