  Being a newcomer to BJJ, Violet Crown was very welcoming, and they are great at teaching! Parking is also ample during the evening classes for those wondering!

  Violet Crown is an incredible gym for all levels. I came in as a complete beginner doing free trial classes at different Austin gyms and realized what Rudy and the instructor team has built here was outstanding. You can roll with people of very different experience levels and learn something new from each one, on top of the amazing instruction that the coaches provide during the technique portion of classes. Everybody helps to contribute to the culture that Rudy has created of friendliness, learning, and ego-free intensity that makes it an addicting place to train at. If you're thinking about getting into the sport, looking for a great way to gain self-defense skills, or an experienced BJJ practitioner that's considering new gyms, come try a class!

  My son took Gi and NoGi kids classes with Violet Crown for a little over a year. He absolutely enjoyed his time with Coach Rudy and Coach Noah. Not only the coaches, everyone there will welcome and help you get better. We have to take a pause since he is in the tennis team now. With high school work and tennis practice, it was getting a bit tough. If you’re looking for martial arts training for you or for anyone in your family, definitely give them a try. Also, I believe they are running a promotion at the moment!

  I tried out several gyms before joining Violet Crown and my experience so far has been outstanding. Rudy and all the instructors do an excellent job at breaking down complex techniques into understandable concepts, that can then be applied to a variety of situations in BJJ. The culture of the gym is very welcoming and open to all skill levels. While learning a new concept, you’re able to get one-on-one instruction and feedback, which enables you to properly drill and build your skillset. It’s hard to find a quality gym that offers both BJJ and Muay Thai, and Violet Crown is able to provide both at very reasonable prices. Rudy and his team at VC are creating something special and I am honored to be a part of their growing community!

  Rudy is a great instructor and a true professional. Lots of respect on this mat. Never a bad time and a welcoming environment. 10/10 would recommend, for advanced and beginners
