Great training with a family feel approach. Competitive training available as well as classes for those who just want to learn. Fun for all types of individuals! Absolutely fantastic kids mma program. Adult classes are competitive, fun, safe, and challenging in just the right way ;).

Coaches are very knowledgeable and foster an amazing environment. There is a large emphasis on competing however I would also recommend Vanyo for anyone looking for a good workout, learn new skills, and grow.

I love this gym, and their family style atmosphere. Everyone is welcomed, but most importantly, made to feel welcome by the coaches and fighters. This place always feels like home to me.

Been training jiujitsu for about 6 years now and the jiujitsu culture here is better than any other place I’ve been, super friendly and relaxed but competitive, the kick boxing is hands down the best in Ohio some real killers in this room, come through and get some real work!

Been enrolled for a little over a month, and what an absolutely awesome experience so far. Every coach is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. The culture is great as well, a balance of seriousness/fun that makes training and learning the skillsets infinitely more enjoyable. Coming here has easily become a part of my routine that I look forward to the most during the week. Couldn't recommend it enough.

There aren't enough fantastic things I could say about Vanyo's! If you're looking for the traditional tight knit and authentic gym family and life this is definitely the place to go! Healthy competition that is structured around self-discipline, pursuit of potential and strong values! I'll never go anywhere else.

I have attended Vanyo Martial Arts for the last several months. In that time I have found a place I look forward coming to, whether that be to train, spar, or blow off some steam from work. Master Vanyo and all the coaches offer great training, each placing focus on something different—Allowing for a well-rounded development and learning experience. All the coaches and members are very polite, friendly, and supportive. Additionally, the coaches are also very patient when asked for assistance and explanations in understanding something better. I have grown close with a few individuals looking forward to training with them and hoping they will be there when I attend class. I have a birth defect that causes some obstacles with training. Everyone has been very kind and accommodating with me(Which is super important to me and something I look for). I believe all this is a reflection of Master Vanyo and his business—a welcoming martial arts gym that provides excellent classes, cultivating an environment of both support and growth, while also creating friendships with the other members.

My kids have been at Vanyo Mixed Martial Arts for over a year now and we have witnessed such an increase of confidence, strength and discipline since coming here. There was even a situation with a bully recently and my kid was able to control the situation and defend himself with such skill and maturity. This is exactly what we wanted out of mixed martial arts. Vanyos staff is amazingly talented, helpful and patient yet firm. They provide first class coaching and fitness for all levels as well as teaching kids life lessons. I highly recommend Vanyo and his team!

Coach David Barnes has many years of experience in the art of Brazilian Jiujitsu. He works patiently with each student to help them progress. Highly recommend.

I have known Master Vanyo for many years. Not only is he a great friend but a great Martial Artist!! We had trained and competed together for many years. He is a man of respect and honor and in today's society that is very hard to come by. If you are looking for a school to train and learn you will not be disappointed. There is very few of these schools around today.

I am a second degree black belt in tae Kwan do. I have gone to master Vanyo's martial Arts school sense October 17, 2009! Jokyonim Jim teaches every class besides black belt class and Saturday morning class. Ask jokyonim Jim or master Vanyo for the times of the class. I help out on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm. So please try it out. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.

I used to be a runner, but a serious knee injury led to a lot of inactivity and a diminished fitness level. When I had recovered and decided to get back in shape a friend asked me to check out this gym. Learning a martial art was one of my goals this year so I went along. I'm so glad I did! I've almost never walked into a gym hat didn't start off hating the shape I was in but Master Vanyo is supportive to people from all walks of life, and I am encouraged to give 100%, whatever that is on a given day. If you chose this gym, you will not be sorry.

Simply put, studying Muay Thai at Master Vanyo's gym has been a pleasure. It's not easy, but that's part of what I enjoy about it. There is a lot of personal attention paid by the class leaders, and by other members who are much further along as well. While it takes a minute for some of the regulars to warm up to newcomers, they're really all great! My only wish is that the gym (the physical space) was a bit bigger!

Great location to send your children to develop confidence and skills. Communication could be better with the parents, otherwise my son loves going and meeting new people. I love the focus they aspire to teach in their students.

Signed a six month contract for a kickboxing class that was cancelled with a month still left. The owner did offer an "alternative" class that was at a different time and with a different instructor. However the owner did do the right thing and refunded the last month of class to me since I did not accept the alternative class.

The owner of this establishment is a scam artist. He will rope you into an expensive contract that automatically renews and if you don't cancel it by a certain time you will be charged. I moved away and couldn't attend class and because I didn't cancel exactly 30 days before I was stuck in a contract being charged each month even though I never attended a single class. I reached out to the owner and received no sympathy. "You will have to reach out to member solutions about that" he will completely ignore you because he knows he's scamming you getting money because he gets you roped in to these ridiculous contracts. Do not sign a contract with this man. He will take advantage of you. Edit: this is a real review even if the owner wants to panic and say it's not. How else would I know about member solutions? This incident happened 5-6 years ago so I dont expect to get a refund. This happened when I was a dumb kid and the owner completely took advantage of me because all he cares about is money he knows exactly what he's doing with these shady contracts. He wants everyone to think this review is fake because it shows his true colors. Do not give him your business. He is a fraud.

Be aware people . they kept taking from my credit card even after my kids subscription is done , although i was clear about not renewing for them , and my kids did not show up to the classes for more than two months . now I am emailing the coach who is the owner and he is not answering my emails for over a week , he owes me 238 dollars . My next step is a complaint in strongsville chamber of commerce.
