I’ve been attending Urban Jiujitsu for 5 months. It’s a fun and safe environment to learn BJJ. The people are welcoming and friendly. Since coming to this dojo, my standup has significantly improved. It’s a beginner friendly environment. Students who compete always having coaching during their events. I definitely recommend Urban Jiujitsu

I have been doing bjj for several years now and recently signed up for Urban Jiu-Jitsu and it has been nothing but amazing! It is an awesome family friendly gym where all are welcome whether or not you have prior grappling experience. The gym is always clean making it a comfortable environment to roll in. The people are great! I was immediately welcomed by the members of the club with open arms and it has felt like home since day 1! Finally, the actual Jiu Jitsu part. Jody Barron, the owner and head instructor, is nothing short of amazing. He has an extensive background in various martial arts especially in grappling. Not only is he an amazing martial artist, but he is hands down the best instructor I have ever come across in my 5 years of Jiu Jitsu! His passion and love for teaching and spreading the art of Jiu Jitsu is second to none! He is patient, and teaches in a way that is easy to grasp and extremely friendly! If you are thinking of starting Jiu Jitsu, or even looking for a gym to continue your Jiu Jitsu journey, don't be shy and give Urban Jiu Jitsu a try! You will not be disappointed!

I took a few classes here because my son Mathew recommended it. I have to say, the instruction and patience Professor Jody showed was wonderful. As someone with ADHD/Autism I always find a hard time fitting into new environment and I felt nothing but warmth and acceptance at Ubran Jiujitsu Canada. ❣️

I can’t say enough great things about Urban Jiu Jitsu and Jody Barron. After training here for the past 6 months, I can honestly say it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and supportive, whether you’re a complete beginner or have years of experience. Jody is a world class athlete and an exceptional instructor … he is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in every student’s progress. He has a unique ability to challenge you while building your confidence at the same time. What really stands out is how well the club caters to everyone. It’s an amazing environment for kids, youth, and adults alike … whether you’re looking to improve fitness, develop discipline, or take on a new personal challenge ( like me). The sense of community here is strong, and it makes showing up each week something you genuinely look forward to. If you’re considering trying jiu jitsu, this is absolutely the place to do it. I couldn’t be happier with my experience and highly recommend Urban Jiu Jitsu to anyone looking to grow both physically and mentally.

Outstanding Jiu-Jitsu School for Kids and Adults My son has been training at this Jiu-Jitsu school, and the impact has been truly positive. The instructors are highly professional, patient, and genuinely care about each child’s progress — both physically and mentally. The environment is respectful, safe, and very well structured. I’ve seen noticeable improvements in my son’s confidence, discipline, focus, and overall attitude. The coach not only teach technique, but also important values like respect, self-control, and teamwork. As a parent, it’s extremely reassuring to know your child is training in a place where instructors lead by example and take responsibility seriously. I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for quality martial arts training for their child.
