Best fighting gym in the state! No ego, everyone has fun while challenging each other to be better! 🥊🥊
Great place to train. I was in Burlington for a few months and had the amazing privilege of training with this team. Everyone is super nice and helpful, the coaches are very knowledgeable and super willing to answer questions. I felt at home immediately.
My son has been attending United Fighting Arts Institute (UFAI) for over two years. He has loved his experience. Debra is and amazing instructor. She gives clear and concise instruction, and has demonstrated a high level of expertise. She connects with all her students at a high level. I am also deeply impressed with the community as a whole. They create a strong competitiveness and supportive environment that supports the growth of all student. Under Debra, my son has showed substantial growth and continued commitment/love for both Brazilian and Japanese jiu-jitsu. I highly recommend UFAI!
UFAI is an amazing place to train, with many different options to choose from. All of the disciplines represented are taught by top notch instructors, each with significant experience. If you are just starting your martial arts journey or looking for a place to continue honing your skills, UFAI is the place to be.
I've been training at UFAI for a few years now in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. The quality of the instructors is fantastic, they are all very kind and will go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome and understand what's going on in the classes. All of the students make great training partners as well, you can tell it's the kind of environment where everyone wants to see everyone do well. If you've been looking for a gym to train martial arts, this is it!
I've been training now for over 15 years and easily one of, if not THE best decision I've made along the journey so far, was joining UFAI. If you're wondering whether or not to stop by, let me help you: Just go. You will not be upset that you did. They are very friendly, and insanely skilled at what they do. Try something new today!
Excellent environment with genuinely kind folks!
UFAI is the best place to train Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu and MMA in Vermont. The Instructors are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, respectful and supportive. Top Notch!
I’ve been training at UFAI for a decade. There are other gyms around but the welcoming environment, insane wealth of cumulative knowledge, and experience in the coaching staff sets UFAI apart in my opinion. I’m glad to have called it home away from home for the last 10 years.
I love this place. It is a second home. The only can you get excellent training from high-level people everybody is very friendly. The owners and everyone who trains air has always welcome to me and my nephew since he was three he’s now 10!
This is an amazing gym to train at! The owners and all the instructors are wonderful and highly knowledgeable people. All the people that train here are super nice and so welcoming! I always look forward to going to class - can't recommend this place enough!
UFAI is a fantastic gym. The instructors are awesome, the classes both challenging and fun, and the atmosphere welcoming and energetic. You can just tell that everyone who trains here enjoys it. I think one of the best things about UFAI is the variety of martial arts. They encourage training in multiple forms, which is what drew me to this gym. I've trained here mostly in Muay Thai and Japanese Ju Jitsu. They also offer Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, and MMA. This place is great for anyone - all skill levels, adults and kids.
Not your traditional martial arts experience and that is what makes it great. Only do the BJJ aspect so can't speak for the Muay Thai but the Jiujitsu classes are phenomenal. Having different instructors run different Jits classes works out well as they all work off of each other and while they may go over the same thing it is surprising how well a different take on it can change the way you implement it into your game. Overall it feels like a family and my only regret is not starting out here earlier than I did.
I started training at UFAI the week I moved to Vermont almost six years ago. As an experienced martial artist, I was cautious when looking a new training "home". I was recommended UFAI, per my interests for training, and I was impressed after my first class. My training there has been fun, top notch, and drama free. I compete regularly in various forms of martial arts. The training and training partners have set me up for success time and time again and Im happy to be part of the crew.
Excellent coaches definitely know their craft also my son toned up and lost 10 pounds within three weeks I’ll be there intensive workout Regret not joining him up sooner
Been training here for years. Best coach's around and great team mates. BJJ Muay Thai Kick Boxing Aiki jitsu. Open mats for training with friends or hitting the bags. Come in and train you won't regret it.
AMAZING GYM! I dropped in from out of town after talking with Mike. before I came in, he gave me all the information on all the gyms in the area to let me take my best pick for my training style. then, when I finally went in to roll everyone was very hospitable, friendly, and respectful. It was awesome to come in and roll. Mike also seems to be a very knowledgeable black belt. Great gym that I would highly recommend
Absolutely amazing staff and knowledge base for all training levels.
Love this place!! Been training here for the last 2 years since I moved back from San Diego (I started training out west at PTC Boxing about 3 years ago). I was totally stoked to find Martial Arts / Boxing / Muay Thai gym here in Vermont! The boxing class with Coach Dave will kick your a**! Excellent Muay Thai instructors too!!!!
Best BJJ classes in town
I trained and was one of ufai's fighters a while back and not only is the absolute best place to train but it is like one big family. The knowledge and experience of all the trainers under one room is unmatchable. I truly miss them everyday and if you are thinking about taking up the arts or just looking for a crazy good workout than I can 100 percent say that you search is over. Get in there and become part of the family.
I have been training in Martial Arts for about a decade. I started training at United Fighting Arts Institute last summer and I have been amazed at it in all aspects. The different arts taught there, the expertise of the instructors, the climate is warm and welcoming and the facility is top notch. You can't find a better place to train in Vermont. Period
although I don't train here I know the owners very well . I do visit quite often and it is a very good place to train. the people are very friendly, courteous ,the atmosphere is superb. the instructors have a very close bond with the students and I think that is very important . they train in many aspects of martial arts so you can get any type of training your looking for. they also offer woman's self defense classes and that is very important for woman in todays life. on many occasions I have watched the folks train and I would highly recommend this facility to anyone . totally awsome place to train!!
Started my journey with UFAI in 2010. I was welcomed from day 1. The teachers are amazing and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend checking it out.
Excellent coaches and great people to train with!!
UFAI has great coaching and an amazing group of dedicated people to train with. The amount of knowledge in this gym is very impressive. Striking, Grappling, Muay Thai, BJJ, MMA, Self-Defense, they do it all! I love this gym.
The instructors know their chosen Martial Art. An absolutely amazing facility. I highly recommend this place.
UFAI has extremely skilled instructors who truly want to see you develop your skills. They put in so much of their own time to help develop others and reach out to the community; it's abundantly clear that this is their passion. They are extremely welcoming and kind, and will make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. I am so glad I found these people!
I have been in the Martial Arts world for almost 10 years now. I have trained at multiple schools and UFAI is easily one of the most welcoming places I have had the pleasure of training. It all starts with the attitude of Kru Chris Ballard. As the proprietor he does an excellent job of creating a place that lacks ego and blends multiple different martial arts. Friendly and inviting UFAI is an excellent place to train regardless of experience level. Come check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent facilities, trainers, and fellow students.
