Hey, I stopped by for a Sunday open-mat and experienced a great workout. Technical rolls from all partners. Black belt, Eric, was a great game of chess. All gym members from white to black belt were welcoming and sweat-inspiring. Oss.

Great vibe. Great coach. I visited for the first time and had coach Eric. He was excellent and super nice. Eric was very low key. I'm a fan. I watched the kids wrestling class a bit prior to my class. It looked fun. The coaches seemed great. My first session back in two years since covid and was looking for something of a bit different flavor from my last school. I will be back to try it again.

I had the privilege to train with Professor Jae Ho Lee! How many times do you get to roll with an Abu Dhabi champion? He willingly shared his insight into open guard concepts and I was glad to listen. He then went on to demonstrate. And well... I am a 240 lb. Blackbelt and I couldn't pass. It is always a pleasant revelation to discover new avenues and transitions. I am grateful for the brief time we shared on the mats. When we parted, I was a better grappler.

I had a great experience at Top Martial Arts. I went in just to try the Muay Thai class, and even though I had no prior experience in martial arts, the instructors were super helpful in getting me up to speed in the basics. I look forward to keep coming back to train in their classes.

Highly recommended if you want to get better at Jiujitsu and or Muay Thai. There are many upper belts and high level fighters that train at this school. I began training here as a blue belt. This place has really helped me improve my game. There are classes everyday and sometime twice a day. Everyone at the school is really cool to be around.

I dropped in to several advanced classes here. Each time there were 3-4 legit black belts. Everyone was super cool and the instruction and training was very solid.

I've been training at Top for a while now. Since then, my wife started training, and my daughter recently had her first class. This school is family friendly, and you will find great instruction and challenging training. There are both world class competitors and hobbyists working hard together. The vibe here is outstanding. I can't recommend Top enough. Our whole family loves it here!

I was in town from Miami for two weeks and they welcomed me with nothing but smiles and open arms. I dropped in for the jiu jitsu classes. Jae, the owner, let me train and was as attentive with me as he was with his longtime members. Six black belts in the adult's bjj class provided excellent instruction and really fun rolls. I'm used to five minute rolls and they do six minutes and that quickly showed! Great training that I will never forget.

Best jiu jitsu in Charlotte, hands down. Stop by for Open mats on Saturdays - all are welcome. Also features a fierce competition team with often several Pan-Am and World champions on the mat at any given time. Oss!

Top Martial Arts is more than a gym- it is a family! My Son started Jiujitsu here to gain some confidence, and he has grown so much! A year into Jiujitsu, and he was able to compete at Pans out in California with the support of his teammates, and coaches! Jae Ho Lee is the owner, and truly cares about the individual. Your child, and you will grow in ways you never imagined. I started training here as well, and it something I am proud to be part of and I can appreciate all of my Son’s hard work much more! Confidence, competition, health, stress reduction... the list goes on for all of the things you can gain by giving Jiujitsu at Top Martial Arts a try!

Top Martial Arts is a family within itself. Being part of the gym for over seven years it challenges you to grow both as an individual and as a team member. You will be hard pressed to find the level of talent and quality people any where else.

My 7 year old daughter began training BJJ at Top Martial Arts in June 2017 and began competing one month later. Hard to express how pleased we are with the level of instruction and the ratio of instructors to students. The dedication to the sport is profound. They start the class with some intense exercise and follow that with instruction of techniques. Then they grapple live with classmates, using what they have learned to reinforce it. We pass other gyms to reach Top. Experience this place for yourself and i think you will see why many people travel so far to get there. Feels like family.

If you are looking to get in shape, learn from world class competitors, and meet tons of great people, then this is your place. Top has 2 legit black belts of distinct lineage as their main instructors. Professor Jae and Professor Mitch keep on the cutting edge of Jiu-Jitsu. They will inspire you to reach way beyond what you ever thought your potential was. I have been training BJJ for almost 10 years in the Charlotte area. I know what the other schools have to offer and I would not want to train anywhere else.

Top Martial Arts and Fitness provides a welcoming environment for students of all ages, skill levels, and genders. I started as a beginner with no knowledge of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and have now been training consistently for six months. I'm so thankful I found a school with such friendly and knowledgeable teammates whom are always more than happy to help me progress in my personal goals. What I love most about BJJ and TMAF is the feeling that I have joined a family. It feels amazing to learn from incredible instructors, world champions, and other women.

I started my BJJ journey at another local school. While that school was good, I felt it didn't offer everything I was looking for. I heard about TMAF through a friend and decided to give the 2 weeks free trial a go. I was so impressed with the structure and the intensity that I switched school. We are all like brothers at TMAF, Professor Jae Lee is top notch and will always push you to the limit daily. I have seen an exponential growth in my Jiu-Jitsu over the last 5 months, I wish I would have started here on day 1 of my journey.

I love training at Top. Great atmosphere for learning. BJJ is a full body workout. The staff is knowledgeable and professional, the instruction is tailored to fit the individual. There is a place here for everyone from the beginner to the competitors. The senior belts are always setting a great example working for their goals and pushing to get better every training. They inspire me to work hard and never give up!

Best gym to train in Muay Thai and BJJ! There is always a good energy at Top Marital Arts. I been training here in Muay Thai for over a year and it has been the most amazing life changing experience. I trained over 2 years at other gyms. But I had not been able to find a coach and experienced fighters that could help me take my training to the next level to prepare me for competition. I finally got my opportunity training at this gym. As a result I won my first two Muay Thai fights, ever, at the WKA Nationals in Richmond this past March! I feel like I’ve become a superhero, and I get to train with other superheroes and learn skills no one else knows. Jae Lee, the owner, is an amazingly skilled trainer, and BJJ competitor, and always very kind and professional. Whether you just want to stay in shape or take your training to the next level, this is truly one of the best places to train. My boyfriend and I train here everyweek and we couldn’t be happier with the results we see in our fitness level and skill. There is something about when you first walk into the gym after a long hard day at work. You are tired and you may have had the worst day ever, but you make yourself come to class anyways. You see others come in dressed in nice business attire, including myself, but once you change into your fight gear and wrap your hands, you are home and you feel like your day is just beginning. You leave your problems at the door. It’s time to focus on who you are inside and what makes you great. Happy teammates greet you with big smiles and fist bumps, fighters are warming up preparing for class. Training here in BJJ or Muay Thai will humble you and strengthen your spirit, and you gain a 2nd family while you are on your journey of self discovery.

Training at Top Martial Arts has allowed me to refocus on healthy living. Great training and great instruction for not only BJJ but also Muay Thai and all around fitness. The team encourages all comers whether your new or experience. Every class is catered to individuals with different styles with the same goal in mind which is to improve and become a better version of yourself! I highly recommend coming out and training at Top Martial Arts and Fitness to ALL!

Really great environment with friendly guys to train and learn from. I train jiujitsu to compete in tournaments and the training there has really pushed me to higher levels of competition. Whether you're an avid BJJ practitioner or you're interested in self defense with Muy Thai or Brazilian Jiujitsu, Top Martial Arts is great place to have fun, get in shape and learn!

Great instruction! I've been to at least 2 other bjj schools. None were able to compare to tmaf. Instructors are very detailed and informative. They thoroughly understand the sport and are willing to teach anyone that's willing to learn. Come by and give it a try, you will not regret it!

I had been searching for a new place in the Charlotte area to train BJJ, and came across this school through a mutual friend, and I'm glad I did. The level of training at this place is pretty amazing, and Jae couldn't be a friendlier guy. It's nice to know that the guy who runs the school continues to test himself in the toughest tournaments in the world. I'd recommend this school to anyone who is looking to hone their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with razor-sharp focus. These guys kick my butt every day I show up, and I appreciate every second.
