What a great BJJ club! Seth and all the members were extremely friendly. I was in the area and stopped in for a workout. The club is extremely clean and accommodating. The rolls had great energy without going overboard. Will definitely visit again when I’m in the area.
Posted 3 years agoMe and my family dropped in at this dojo and were warmly welcomed by the instructors. Really appreciated the great effort of integrating us into their usual routine. Thank you!
Posted 6 months agoGreat teachers and students. I've been to two classes so far... Already feel accepted as a fellow student even though I'm fairly new to Jiu-Jitsu/BJJ. If you want to train Jiu-Jitsu... Come visit The Foundry. Update: 17+ months and still happy! Lots of great instructors and good teaching for new folks. Another update: I've now been here for 4 years, still training jiu-jitsu, still a great school, super clean, the mats are kept clean. Still great people, great training, great facility
Posted 8 months agoI have been a member for several years. My whole family joined having no experience. The children's class is great. My son and daughter both love it and the teacher of the kids class is very good with the kids, he is patient, but firm when needed. My wife was very nervous about joining but quickly settled in as there are several women who have made her feel very welcome in class. They have also recently added a women's only class that she loves! I love class as well. There are lots of guys who are very proactive about including me in training and rolling. The foundry has different teachers on different nights who each have their own style. When i have missed class and see other class members around town, they always ask if things are ok, tell me they missed me in class, and encourage me to make sure i get back to class. The camaraderie and discipline make it totally worth going.
Posted 1 year agoI come up to Maine every year sometimes a couple times a year. Seth (the owner) and Jay (the coach) made me feel welcome and helped out tremendously with creating an excellent training environment. The mats are very clean and they have spring to them. The people there were top notch all around and super friendly. I’m a purple belt and the lower belts had a student mentality of absorbing information and really caring. This place is special! I have trained at many gyms throughout the country and the foundry is definitely one of the best. Excellent job you guys! 5 stars all the way around and I look forward to coming back.
