BATTLEFIELD was the only place in the area that we found to take children as young as 3 into their little ninjas. Sensei Alejandro and Senpai Renee are great on both sides of Sensei trains with compassion and a hard hand while Senpai brings the firm motherly touch with the babies. And to see their awards hanging and the discipline of the 5 and ups , I recommend them to be part of every martial arts family. Give them a try

One of the best combat gyms in the upstate! Extremely big and spacious with a ton of mat space and weights. Coach Alejandro and Rosina are the best! Definitely give this place a try if you’re into combat sports!

My son has been attending this Dojo for 3 years and has now transition to kickboxing! I cannot speak highly enough about this place. It has become our second home and we consider all the students, senseis and trainers as part of our family.

Kazoku Karate is everything I wanted in a dojo for my kids. My three sons have been enrolled for almost 9 months, and the growth I've seen in them is everything you hope for as a dad: greater sense of self worth, discipline, physical fitness & grit, opportunities to earn recognition, heightened respect for others. Sensei Alejandro embodies exactly what I'd want in a sensei. I love that he's at the peak of his competitive power, and is teaching from a place of excellence exhibited. He asks great things of students and puts them in position to confront and overcome their shortcomings. He demands an environment of respect, then transitions off the mat as a leader who is personable and respectful. Frankly, he's treated us like family. To parents dojo shopping: you'll get exposure to some serious karate here–this is not a cookie-cutter American karate gym–so if you want to give your kid a real chance to achieve things they can be proud of, that's absolutely happening here. This has been a powerful community for us, and we'd love to see others join the family! I'm incredibly proud to be a part of Kazoku Karate Dojo. PS: Renee, you've also been awesome from the first call. Helpful, kind, giver, another great mentor for kids in the dojo!

I am not a very sporty person and was very scared to join the adult classes initially. However, sensei Alejandro is such a good teacher who explains the mechanics of how things work really well. Karate is fantastic for those of us who are getting older. It builds strength, balance, agility and endurance. However, for me the main benefit was the cognitive exercise as you have to learn and remember the Japanese terminology as well as the physical movements. I would highly recommend the adult classes to any middle aged couch potato - you might surprise yourself! I know I did.
