Our experience at The Agoge Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has been amazing. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also incredibly patient and dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment. They excel at teaching children, helping them to develop not only technical skills but also confidence, discipline, and respect. My boys have grown immensely in both skill and self-assurance since joining the classes here five years ago. The supportive atmosphere and sense of community make it an ideal place for young learners. Recently, my 9-year-old had an experience that truly highlighted the benefits of his training. During football practice, a kid from another team was going around slapping and pushing other children. When this bully approached my son, instead of reacting with fear or aggression, he calmly handled the situation. My son simply grabbed the kid’s arm and used a technique he learned in class to sweep the kid’s legs, putting him on the ground without hurting him. The bully got up, silently walked away, and didn’t cause any more trouble. This incident perfectly illustrates how The Agoge BJJ equips kids with the confidence and skills to stand up for themselves in a controlled and responsible manner. One of the best decisions we have ever made and we truly hope they continue their BJJ journey into adulthood!

Awesome place, we have just moved into the area and have had a very warm welcome. Our kids 8 & 10 love the family classes on a Saturday morning. Friendly and experienced coaches. We are looking forward on continuing our BJJ journey here.

We are so pleased to have found The Agoge BJJ, it has been excellent for my kids confidence and the team there are so supportive and patient with the kids. But best of all it is fun for the kids and great for their friendships. Today my kids went up a belt and they were so proud. Even I have started it as a mum and feel the best I’ve felt in years. If you’re thinking about it definitely give it a try!

I had the pleasure to train at Agoge whilst on holiday in Brisbane recently...Professor Justin and his students were very friendly and welcoming, techniques were demonstrated very well, hygiene was excellent and Prof Justin watched very closely during specifics when joint locks were applied ensuring everyone stayed safe.....Excellent place to learn bjj, strongly recommended..... After a five-year break from the mats due to the demands of raising a young family, I was initially apprehensive about getting back into Jiu Jitsu, particularly at a new gym where I knew no one. From day one, Justin and the coaching staff at The Agoge made me feel incredibly welcome, and the training community here goes out of their way to ensure everyone feels right at home. If you're looking for high-quality technical training in a friendly and inclusive environment, I couldn't recommend The Agoge any higher.
