My sons are 3yo and 5yo and they absolutely love attending their martial arts class. They particularly love Mr JJ and I cannot say enough good things about him as a teacher and a young man. JJ connects with children well beyond his years in a way that encourages, builds their confidence / skills and has fun with them in each class. His demeanour is always kind and calm and my boys really look up to him and constantly talk about JJ at home. I believe Mr JJ has a true gift in order to connect with young kids to teach them martial arts, as teaching comes in all forms, both spiritual and technical. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for JJ. He is destined for greatness as a marital arts and sports teacher, and as a mother I trust him to teach my sons and we genuinely love Mr JJ and we LOVE our weekly classes with him!

My boys have been participating for 7 months and it’s truly the only sport they have wanted to stick with. They are excited to attend each week and the belt grading every few months helps keep them motivated. It’s a fun environment whilst also teaching boundaries and respect.

My teenage daughter has been attending MMA classes under the guidance of Kim and her team for approximately 2 years. Kim provides an inclusive and supportive training environment, where my daughter has thrived, developing confidence, self-discipline and strength in both body and mind (as well as skills in martial arts). Though it may be easy to view martial arts as an individual sport, as my daughter has shared with me, she feels very much a part of a team. Thank you Kim, A is looking forward to continuing her training, this year, and building her leadership skills!

I used to train a different style of Karate a few decades ago when i was younger man so knew of the benefits of training martial arts. My son got involved and has thrived under the instruction of Kim, Jayde and JJ….as well as due to the inspiration from his fellow students. As a result I have also now joined and started training again and am loving it after only a few weeks. The Matt Fiddes system is a great inclusive family friendly concept and the Carindale team with classes spread from Carina, to Bulimba, Murarrie and Manly is the best. Very knowledgeable, passionate instructors who show patience in allowing all levels to achieve their best. Seeing my son compete and get a podium finish in his first tournament was unforgettable.

In Dec 2021 My daughter entered and won 10 classes of MMA with Matt Fiddes Cannon Hill. She had a bit of experience in martial arts and was keen to try something different. Ms, Kim & Ms Jayde were so welcoming, supportive and encouraging from the moment she started. They took time to get to know her and me! We have been away for 6 months travelling , but they encouraged her to continue practicing and put together a workbook of techniques and supporting material. They answered all of our inquires promptly and have really encouraged her to strive to achieve goals she didn’t know existed. My daughter has gained so much in a short time. It’s a testament to the dedication and passion her coaches have for teaching. Thank you !

Thank you will never be enough for the dedication, love, trust and respect that the Trio from our MF family have shown my two children! My oldest is so focused on training and this is now reflected in all aspects of life learnings; both at home and school! His dedication and motivation has absolutely had an influence on his sister making the best decision to also join the MF family and has also started her own martial arts journey. We are so blessed to have found the MF Carindale family! If you are thinking of joining up, absolutely do it! Book in a trial class now. You won’t be disappointed!

Started out great but just seemed to stop caring once the classes gained more students; stopped teaching actual technique and just seemed to be trying to pass the time rather than engaging with the kids. Very money hungry as well, wanting constant extra cash for gradings and competitions that were just showboating. Very disappointing because my son absolutely loved his lessons at first but ended up in tears every week by the end. We stayed for just under a year total but I wish we'd stopped dragging him along earlier. Do not recommend.
