My husband and two boys (7 and 4) have been training here and they love it. The coaches are great, they know jiu jitsu and how to teach it well. They are awesome with the kids classes, and offer training for competitions when the time is right. If you are interested in classes just stop by and watch sometime!
Posted 2 years agoMy family and I attended this gym for almost a year. My wife's ribs were broken during a private session by the lead instructor. The lead instructor, during a slow roll, unannounced decided to practice an "Explosive escape" and wrenched my neck back, not releasing the hold even after I was tapping and yelling. I still see a chiropractor today over that issue. And then, I caught a staph infection that hospitalized me for a week. When I notified the instructor of what had happened, his only response was to send me a link to a competition. Now a year or more later, I just received a collections agency call that I now owe him $2000. There was no soap, no t.p, my wife had to always ask for paper when needed. The smell of animals and feces. Don't ignore the red flags like we did. Be warned.
Posted 1 year agoI can't say enough great things about this place. In 9 months I went from a chunky truck driver to an in shape NAGA gold medalist, and an IBJJF Bronze medalist, the results speak for themselves. I'm humbled and very proud to be a part of the family at Temple Underground Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Boxing. The staff is seasoned in many styles of fighting and grappling, also meditation. The kids program is outstanding, my kids are part of it as well. Their confidence has shot through the roof since they have been a part of it, if you are still on the fence just stop by and talk to G.
Posted 2 years agoGreat place to go if you want the coach to break your ribs, strain your neck, and put you in the hospital with MRSA. No soap in the bathroom, women have to ask for wet wipes, and the mats are not cleaned regularly. Animals roaming loose, and you can smell them. No basic hygiene practice or safety.
Posted 1 year agoTraining with Coach Gee has been a life changing experience for me and a journey I’ll continue for years to come. He is helping me to find myself, and be true to that knowledge. He teaches me that BJJ is not the control of someone else, but the control of oneself. Through breathing, yoga, meditation, and training … I have a new balance in my life. I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with such a dedicated professor of this discipline. There’s no doubt you will have the same results here.
