This gym and the people were so welcoming while I was in town for work! I’m glad I was able to roll with some great training partners while traveling. It’s such a cool space and I can’t wait to be back :) the pic is of the lounge/hangout area, the mat room is in the back. Plenty of space

I just had my first BJJ lesson, and I can't recommend Taylor and Rohan enough! Both are wonderful instructors who create a welcoming, supportive, and empowering environment for all, regardless of experience level.
Taylor Biagi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an incredible place with an amazing community! We are beyond grateful for their support in helping us organize our recent charity event with Help Razom.
Professors Taylor Biagi and Rohan Patel went above and beyond to create a welcoming and engaging experience for everyone involved. Their passion, expertise, and kindness truly made a difference. Highly recommended!

Taylor, Rohan, and Spencer have curated a training environment that is welcoming without losing the spirit of effective martial arts. Their modern approach to the social and community aspects of training is required to reach the people who can benefit the most from the intrinsic truth BJJ has to offer. The mats are clean and there is an organized approach to curriculum. Team gear is offered, but not required.

I did a trial class and it was awesome. Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere was chill. It was very inclusive. I immediately signed up for a month. Also, they have a water machine and a lobby space with seating. That was cool cause my last gym did not. Did I mention there’s no contract? Cool beans.

I have been coming to classes at Taylor Biagi BJJ for about one month now. Right from the start both the coaches and other members created the most welcoming environment, especially for someone with zero previous experience. Each coach’s approach to teaching has made it easy for me to grasp the fundamentals and has made me excited to come to these classes. I can’t wait to continue learning here!

Great place to train! The coaches were all very friendly and knowledgeable and very easy to get along with. I've noticed that some BJJ schools can feel a bit cult-like, but these guys weren't like that at all. Also want to mention how impressed I was with how they constructed the lesson plan for the day. I did a Beginner class and then the Intermediate class right after it, and I was surprised to find that even in the intermediate class, they were still building on what we learned in the intermediate class! Most places I've been to just swap out coaches, and then it's a completely new lesson plan. Obviously there was all new material in the intermediate, but there was more cohesiveness here between the two. Very nice touch!
All in all, great stuff. I'll be coming back.

The team is incredibly professional, welcoming, and supportive! They care about each student’s progress, whether you’re a beginner or experienced practitioner. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and always push you to be your best. The atmosphere is friendly and respectful, and the gym is clean, spacious, and well-equipped. Make it your choice ☺️💖
Initially came for a free class after a buddy of mine finally convinced me. I stayed for the beginner and the intermediate classes to get my best feel of the gym. For somebody who has never done any combat sports before, I was surprised at how kind everybody was in helping me understand the maneuvers and how great the instructors were. The class times and location are extremely convenient, parking is easy and is in a nice area. I am now enrolled with my partner and were able to get a discounted couple’s rate. I have not found this much joy or exertion from any other type of exercise! It is so rewarding to understand different elements and combine them, especially during sparing with other people at different experience levels. I am so grateful to have joined and am now hoping to work my way up to competing one day!
Took an Intro to Jiu Jitsu class with Taylor yesterday and absolutely loved it. I have zero prior BJJ experience and getting into training was a bit intimidating. Her class immediately took away any nerves and she makes it super approachable for beginners & the folks that had been there for years.
Jiu Jitsu can be quite complicated and intricate if you try to throw yourself right off the deep end. Taylor's approach to classes & coaching breaks down BJJ into the simplest component pieces and builds from there which made it super easy to start learning.
I've done trial classes at a few other gyms in the area & had similar nerves/hesitations going into Day 1. Taylor's gym was the one I felt most comfortable at and the most welcome to learn, make mistakes, and grow into this new practice. Can't wait to go back for more.

One of the most welcoming place I've ever been in. As a beginner, every instructor or partner has been extremely patient while still being meticulous. I recently took an intro class at Taylor Biagi Jiu jitsu and it was an incredible experience! Taylor was amazing! super accommodating and welcoming, especially since I hadn’t trained jiu-jitsu in over five years. She made it easy to jump right into class, and I learned a lot from both her and her students. The environment was friendly, supportive, and a great place to train. I’ll definitely be back!

I have been to a lot of jiu jitsu gyms and there are few like Taylor Biagi! I spent the summer in Chicago and was training 4-5x a week, Rohan, Spencer, and Taylor are amazing instructors who all love the sport and you can tell. The environment is great for both the beginner and experienced athletes on and off the mats. Taylor and Rohan have created a community of people that are welcoming and hard working. I highly recommend the academy to everyone!

I've dropped in at Taylor Biagi's gym a few times now, and I really can't say enough good things about it. Taylor is a phenomenal coach, and she really cares about her students. Even as a drop in she would constantly correct my technique for the moves she demonstrated without me even asking for her help. She is very patient and kind when helping you as well. I especially enjoy her systematic approach to Jiu Jitsu. When she shows you a move she also shows how to respond to common defenses to that move. I can't recommend this gym enough. You should definitely stop by.

Taylor is great! I had the opportunity to take her 2 hour self defense class and I learned so much. I wish I would have done some thing like this sooner. She made the skills simple to follow and learn. I admit I was intimated to try but it was so empowering! I was even impressed with how much the kids in the class were interested and learning. Thank you for giving me the confidence. I cannot wait to learn more! ❤️💪

I've done other martial arts but I've been on the quest to find a good bjj place in the city that's not only beginner-friendly but thorough. I'd implore anyone to check out multiple places to get a feel for the teaching styles since there's a ton of bjj places in Chicago, but I can confidently say I love the instruction methodology at Taylor's. Taylor is a hands-on and attentive instructor who makes classes with people of various backgrounds comfortable. My first class was small and intimate, giving me a personalized training-type feel. The actual instruction room is large so multiple levels of teaching can happen, and it encourages people of varying skill levels to integrate and be comfortable watching each other practice. I think it's the perfect balance for people who are intense in their martial arts, but also still inclusive enough for people who have it as a hobby. I signed up after my first lesson because it's noticeably different from other places I've had a free lesson with. I've already recommended it to friends and family!

After being in the martial art world for a few years now, I've recently tried a class at Taylor Biagi's Jiu JItsu gym, and all I can say is: Wow! Rohan and Taylor are both amazing black belts who have been training in this wonderful martial art for years. They are dedicated, talented, patient practitioners, with amble amount of experience on the mats. As a blue belt who is reaching to earn my purple belt, I can very confidently say that working with Taylor and the rest of her team, will definitely help to get me there. Anybody who is looking for a great quality, clean and home-like gym, combined with great teaching styles and supportive team-mates, Taylor Biagi's BJJ gym is one for the books!

I was traveling to Chicago for several days and asked online for recommendations on places to train. Taylor Biagi BJJ was suggested by several people, so I asked if I could drop-in. I'm fairly new to jiujitsu, so I wanted a place where I felt safe and welcome. Taylor Biagi BJJ was both those things and more. Rohan taught both classes I attended and provided helpful instructions and corrections. The other students were all very welcoming too. I got a great workout, learned a few new things, and found a great gym to return to next time I'm in Chicago.

Both Taylor and Rohan are fantastic instructors and always willing to take extra time with each individual to ensure the drills and techniques are well understood. You can tell they genuinely care for the students and their progress. Many things I’ve learned here have also translated into my every day life such as mental toughness and confidence. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this is the place to be. I also love that there is a small weights area, which is free to use with a membership!

I had the opportunity to train with Rohan at Taylor Biagi Jiu Jitsu and was very impressed with the session. It’s clear he has a very advanced understanding of the sport and has studied it in depth. In a short amount of time, he introduced me to principles that improved my game. He simplified these concepts in a highly digestible way that has kept me thinking about that session weeks later. Unfortunately I don’t live near the gym, but I am looking forward to my next visit and would recommend anyone interested in the sport to visit this gym.

I was looking for a Jiu Jitsu instructor to try a new sport and was recommended Taylor Biagi BJJ immediately as a place welcoming to people of all skill levels, and women in particular. I asked my partner to join me, not knowing that he would become even more obsessed than I am (and I'm LOVING it!) It has been the most welcoming experience I've ever had in sports, even as a long time athlete, and it's clear how special Taylor and her team are from everyone we've met. While the sport is new to us, there are so many experienced students and participants who have shared stories about how TBBJJ is the best atmosphere they've tried in Chicago... so I feel extra lucky to have started our BJJ journey here right out the gate!

I definitely recommend coming to Taylor's to learn jiu jitsu. I was happy that there was plenty of parking options and quite easy to get to. I felt very welcomed and appreciated that there was a nice space for my son to hang out while I trained. There was plenty for my toddler to do and they even have the cutest bean bag chair and children's jiu jitsu books for him to be entertained with! In the class there were five women and about seven or eight men, so there were plenty of options for partners. Everyone was kind and respectful. Oh! And thank you for having a clean space. Literally, the mats, floor, bathroom...CLEAN!! Definitely give this place a try 🙂

Taylor Biagi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a great place for a wide variety of people—from if you’re interested in doing jiu jitsu as a hobby/to stay in shape, to if you are interested in competing in local + national tournaments!
There is a monthly curriculum plan that head instructors/black belts Taylor and Rohan teach in a clear and concise manner. Questions are encouraged, not admonished. They are world champions and make sure to emphasize techniques that are highly effective and relevant in jiu jitsu.
The upper belts that train here all foster a very inclusive and welcoming environment—there’s no superiority complex in the gym. Evening classes are offered at a convenient time and are highly focused on drilling and using positionals to obtain mastery of technique, about 2/3 of the lessons comprise of this.
I appreciate that the gym is also femme/female friendly—the bathrooms are stocked with hair ties and tampons which is an oversight at other places but not at a gym founded by a female black belt! The gym and mats are also cleaned constantly (after every class) which is big for me.
Being a part of the gym provides you with a lot of resources for you to improve your game and knowledge of jiu jitsu. Members have access to a private gym database of material and content all to learn jiu jitsu techniques if you wish to do so. There are competition specific classes offered 3x a week as well.
I started off as a complete martial arts novice and in a bit under a year developed the skillset to be able to compete in my first tournament!
TBJJ has a great environment—the coaches truly listen to feedback from students and implement it. I would recommend training here if you are interested in jiu jitsu!

I can't say enough positive things about my experience at Taylor Biagi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!
First and foremost, Professor Taylor Biagi is an outstanding instructor. Her technical expertise and ability to convey the intricacies of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are truly commendable. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, she has a unique way of breaking down techniques that make them accessible to everyone. Professor Biagi's passion for BJJ is contagious, and her commitment to the growth of her students is evident in every class.
The West Town location provides adequate parking around the facility which is a huge bonus because parking at many Chicago area gyms can be difficult.
Another great aspect is the variety of classes offered. Whether you prefer the traditional gi or the fast-paced excitement of no-gi, Taylor Biagi BJJ has you covered. The class schedule is well-balanced, ensuring that there are options for everyone, regardless of their skill level or availability.
Fellow students are supportive, and there's a genuine camaraderie that makes each training session enjoyable. The emphasis on respect and sportsmanship is not only preached but practiced by all members, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all.
Overall, I highly recommend Taylor Biagi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to anyone looking to embark on their BJJ journey or take their skills to the next level. The combination of exceptional instruction, convenient location, and a supportive community makes it an unparalleled choice for anyone passionate about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

What defines this place is professionalism!! Very attentive to beginner students, I felt very comfortable and very happy to be in a Jiu-jitsu gym for the first time! I definitely recommend it and talk about my experience to everyone!! Clean, organized place, with Coach who help and instruct in an easy and practical way to understand! I loved it 😍😍😍
I have zero martial arts/wrestling experience but was looking for something more dynamic/functional to add to my exercise regimen. Began to explore jiu jitsu gyms in Chicago and came across Taylor's gym. Taylor was very inviting from the beginning, allowed me to join a free class. The class was designed for beginners so the gym was not loaded with experts...not intimidating at all...a great environment to take the first step towards a new skill.
From there, you can take more advanced classes - but the instructors don't move past things quickly and they create an environment where you can make mistakes and ask questions. Each class I have been to has been pretty small (maybe 10 people maximum at one time) so you have easy access to the instructor and you really get to know everybody in the gym.
Initially I felt I was taking a risk trying jiu jitsu in the first place but Taylor's gym has a really safe and comfortable vibe to it. This type of gym feels like the right place to start and has me continuing to come back as often as possible.
There are also 2 other instructors - Rohan and Jared. Both great guys.
I really can't say enough about the gym, really enjoying my experience so far. I can already tell it is enhancing my fitness and I look forward to continuing to develop jiu jitsu skills.

I recently joined Taylor Biagi BJJ and my experience has been nothing short of fantastic. I came into the gym not knowing anybody, but making friends & forming relationships here comes easy, as everyone is welcoming & eager to help. I highly recommend joining Taylor Biagi BJJ for the following reasons:
First-and-foremost, Taylor is an expert in her craft. She is a high-level blackbelt training for 14+ years, & her credentials speak for itself. Moreover, Taylor has coached BJJ champions, & has even trained UFC fighters asking her to help prepare them for their upcoming fight. This exemplifies Taylor’s mastery of BJJ, as being asked for help by people at the top of their profession is the ultimate sign of respect.
Taylor is also an excellent teacher & effective communicator, which is a crucial characteristic for a Coach to possess, as having the knowledge but being able to effectively teach it are two distinct skills. Taylor has a unique ability to break down techniques in a way that is understandable & easy to digest. This is not only a testament to her expertise/leadership skills, but to her preparation. She goes above & beyond in her duties by taking notes, strategizing what to teach/the best way to teach it, & even provides step-by-step instructions on a whiteboard displayed in class which helps encompass all learning styles. Despite Taylor’s mastery of the sport, she continues to be a student of the game.
Taylor also provides a team of instructors that are very knowledgeable & diligent in their preparation. I have already learned a lot from Taylor, Rohan, & Spencer, as they each offer different perspectives & insights in their teachings, making your progression/understanding of the sport even more complete.
I would recommend this gym to anyone, no matter their goals. There are students who compete, train as hobby, or simply train for personal fitness purposes. Everyone is welcomed & is treated the same. I have been to several gyms in the Chicagoland area, but none compare to the experience i’ve had here. As such, I implore anyone hesitant on joining/picking a gym to do yourself a favor & give Taylor Biagi's a try.

I love the instruction and attention to detail the instructors provide. They will teach you a move/sequence then drill the move/sequence so it sticks. I have done a private with Spencer on half guard and he was able to take his knowledge and modify it to my game. They stay up to date with modern jiujitsu and bring in world class talent for seminars. Would recommend this place for anyone new to jiujitsu or competitors looking to sharpen their skills, also be sure to check out Dias's new competition class Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm!
