I came all the way from Brazil to visit and attend the grand opening of this amazing place, and it was an unforgettable experience! They teach authentic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with such dedication, showing true commitment to each student on the mat and beyond. I could see the patience, kindness and respect that teachers show to students, especially with students who have special needs, like autism, ADHD and etc. Making everyone feel valued and empowered for life.

The best school around Fort mill, Rock hill, Indian land, Charlotte and beyond. We tried several schools but ended up here in TAP. Kids can learn here real jiu jutsu in right organized protected way. Also You (adult beginners)would train with multiple time world champion couches(there is not many black belt couches train with white belts). Professor Thalys’s couching skill is very impressive and he gives all details about technique. How good they are ? You can watch their tournament fights in You Tube.

We moved here after doing Jiu Jitsu in a different state. I say with all sincerity, Tap is next level compared to other places we’ve been. They focus on technique and a strong core understanding. In our time here so far I have seen no children injured from poor technique. My child has multiple LDs and Auditory Processing disorder. The Professors at Tap have taught her more in 1 month than she learned in the first 4 months of doing Jiu Jitsu. They really want to see these children succeed in all the ways, and I want to see Tap keep growing. Highly recommend. They’re doing such good things here. My child’s favorite things about Tap are: 1. It’s not super loud and they keep calm 2. They get to pick their own nick names 3. Feeling strong 4. Watching teammates get their stripes

Since I was a white belt, I've followed and been inspired by the overcoming of life that Professor Thalys achieved on and off the mat. I am 15 years old, I have been going to Tap for 6 or more months. Everyone here is extremely supportive, I have never been told that there is a limit to my or anyone else's success. Not only do the coaches at Tap give lessons that apply to the sport, but also to everyday life. It has improved my confidence and comfortably in previously uncomfortable situations. I highly recommend giving it a try whether you are a kid, adult, or especially if you are a teenager like me.

I dropped in for a class at TAP academy, run by prof Thalys and his wife Abby. The facility was spotless and very family oriented. Both the instructors have dedicated their life to jujitsu and have accomplishments in the highest BJJ tournaments in all belt levels. I enjoyed how they structured classes adults/kids and guided their students through technique/sparring. I highly recommend if your in the SC area. Looking forward to coming back.

TAP is a great place to train Jiu Jitsu. The coaches are the best in the world and are amazing with the kids. No matter what age or skill level you are, Professor Thalys and Coach Abbi make sure you understand the technique. For adults they implement self defense strategies to go along with the technique that is being taught. I love coming to train at TAP because they are my second family! I was just visiting family in the area, but needed to train for an upcoming tournament. I contacted Tap and spoke with Thalys about stopping by and he was excited to have me join. Their gym is perfect for anyone looking to learn BJJ and the instruction is VERY detail oriented. This type of instruction is hard to come by and is great for "never done BJJ" all the way to black belt. Thalys is an extremely decorated competitor and runs a successful gym with his wife Abbigayle. When in town and needing a roll, I will definitely stop in again. Thank you Tap for having me drop in! Oss!

TAP is hands down one of the best Jiu Jitsu schools that I've been to. Thalys and Abby are amazing coaches and role models for their students. The instruction is top tier as well. Thalys explains the techniques in a simple but effective way without missing any of the small details. The way that he is able to connect everything from the warmups to the technique to even the roll is great. I definitely recommend TAP to anyone who is new to Jiu Jitsu and even experienced practitioners who want to enhance their game.

I came in as a guest from out of town and they were very welcoming. Super nice and very hospitable. Very nice and clean little gym. Great instruction from a very skilled coach. When I find myself in this area again with time to train I will definitely pay them another visit.

My kids love this place! It is another avenue for them to stay active and interact with other kids. Thalys and Abbigayle are both extremely knowledgeable and patient in their instructions. I have seen big improvements in Jiu-Jitsu skill since starting here!

Both of my children have trained under Coach Abbi and Coach Thalys since 2018. They have coached them through many competitions and helped them grow their skills in Brazilian Jiujitsu beyond any expectations I have ever had. Many gold medals and swords line their walls thanks to the knowledge and skills Abbi and Thalys share with their students. Their heart and compassion for what they do is amazing and unmatched. Our children are not just another head in the gym. Each child or member that walks through their door is greeted with a smile and a warm welcome because they care about you there.
