Amazing place ! Coach Miriam is phenomenal! The whole Coach team is nurturing.
I've been training at T3MA Redmond as my primary BJJ training location for almost 11 years. The quality of instruction, the encouraging atmosophere, and the team orientation have kept me coming back month after month. Head instructor Miriam and all the other instructors and Coaches are skilled and effective teachers. I encourage anyone interested in learning jiu-jitsu, grappling, personal defense, or martial arts in general to come check out T3MA.

Joined about 6 months ago, new to pure BJJ. It’s a great gym and sport. There are a lot of class times making it easy to work into my schedule. Everyone is really friendly and great at helping teach skills.
This is a great place for kids and adults to train. The head coach, professor Miriam is kind, motivating, and safety focused, and she has gathered coaches with a similar training philosophy. Both my daughters have trained here for over five years and benefited greatly from the training in friends made, goals accomplished, and confidence gained.
My husband and I have been practicing BJJ for years and have experience going to gyms in Los Angeles and Pennsylvania. We moved to WA a few months ago and went searching for a gym right away for ourselves and our 4.5 yr old son. We did trial classes at different gyms. Out of all the gyms we have been to, T3MA Redmond has the most organized and educational kids class. We also love the adult class and the atmosphere is very safe and professional.

Open scheduling, classes for all ages and gender and community events. Highly highly highly recommend anyone to come and join. Seriously all ages from 3 to 99 years of age

There is a reason why I train here every time I am in the Redmond area. As a former college wrestler and current BJJ blue belt and high school wrestling coach, grappling has been a big part of my life for the last two decades. Amongst my experiences, the Jiu-Jitsu programs put on by Miriam and Joel at T3MA Redmond offer some of the safest and highest quality training in the area. Classes always start on time, techniques are taught with a level of detail only black belts can deliver, and while sparring can be competitive it never felt dangerous due to vigilant instructors and high amounts of mutual respect between training partners. The students are diverse in both gender as well as age and and it is not uncommon to see classes where the entire family (parents and children) attend. The lack of initiation and cancellation fees reflect their dedication to providing high quality BJJ training without all the other fees and antics typically associated with gym memberships. If I lived in Redmond, this is where I would bring myself and my family to train.

I started my brazilian Jiu jitsu journey here and still love it so much. The team is like a family. The Professors are so patient, kind and give high level instruction on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu technique. It is appropriate for families, hobbiests and competitors.

That's the place I call home: the place where the spirit and the body get challenged every day and grow up; the place where I come in tired and frustrated and get out exhausted, happy and satisfied; my daily therapy. Professor Miriam Cardoso is a 5-time world Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion: she won her first Nationals in 2001 just after 3 months of training, she then won nationals 7 times after that and in 2002 she began competing at the world level. In 2004 her world-winning career launched, taking first place 5 times over the next 4 years. But being a world class competitor doesn't always translate into being a good instructor. Fortunately, Professor Miriam is also world class in this way and that reflects with the vibe and the kind of people that regularly train there: all very friendly, humble and respectful. The gym has also a very strong family feel: trainings happen in friendly environments whether you're a competitor or someone that is just looking to get in shape. All Professors have world-class knowledge and aren't afraid to share. You can tell and feel their passion for training as well as a skill to pass it on. When I original started I didn't know how the experience was going to be; after two years not only I train there regularly 6 days a week but my wife and my two kids also joined me in this journey thanks to the very strong family-feel and amazing training provided!

Our five-year-old son tried a number of different sports, and quickly grew bored with all of them. Then he started at Elite with Miriam, and everything changed. He loves it there, Miriam is excellent with kids, patient and kind but also firm when it comes to following the rules. She gets the balance just right. Highly recommended!
Truly great school and team! Miriam is a world class competitor, and an excellent, patient teacher. In addition, there are plenty of friendly intermediate belts that are happy to help beginners like myself. The facilities are nice / clean / modern and the membership system is well managed. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to train in BJJ!
I had a really great trial session for adult Muay Thai at this location. Everyone was very friendly and patient while I learned. It's a little hard for those just starting out, especially with getting good form for punching and kicking technique (which is why I have 4 instead of 5 stars). You will not spar during your first trial session, but you will have an amazing workout, learn some pretty fundamental basics, and a great teacher. The head Muay Thai coach is phenomenal. The prices are extremely cheap for what you're getting (I might even sign up) Try the trial class before jumping into it for sure though!
I trained at T3MA for about 13 months. Overall, the gym itself offers solid instruction and facilities, but my experience was mixed, depending on the instructor. Evening Classes with Coach Endo: These classes were consistently enjoyable. Endo is incredibly patient, respectful, and helpful with all his students. He goes out of his way to answer questions and ensures his students feel supported. I highly recommend attending his classes—he’s a fantastic coach and role model. Morning Classes with Priscilla: Unfortunately, my experience here was very different. Over the course of several months, I noticed repeated instances of unprofessional and disrespectful behavior—not just toward me but also toward other students. She appeared to lose patience quickly, showed favoritism, and would sometimes belittle or harshly criticize students, regardless of belt level. This created a tense and unwelcoming environment. Two specific incidents stand out: 1. I was elbowed in the face during a roll and clearly dazed, but was told to “keep going” and that it “wasn’t a big deal.” 2. More seriously, I suffered a shoulder dislocation and torn rear dealt during sparring and required months of physical therapy. Despite the visible pain and injury, I was publicly insulted and mocked in front of the class and she saying to me “im acting like a 60 year old man”, “i always get injured and act like this” and should be “in the kids bjj class”. this is a lie since keep track all the classes in go to and only was in her class 2 times in 2025. I genuinely don’t understand how a teacher can act like this unprofessionally toward a student. I later filed a complaint, which was acknowledged, but the situation left a lasting impression on my view of her classes. This review isn’t meant to attack anyone personally, but to express a pattern of behavior I—and others I’ve spoken to—experienced firsthand. I stayed silent for a long time out of respect and fear of repercussions, but now that I’ve moved on to another gym, I feel it’s important to share. Again, I want to emphasize: T3MA is a good gym overall, and I had a positive experience with Coach Endo and several others. But based on what I went through, I do not recommend taking Priscilla’s classes. I hope the gym continues to grow and maintains an environment that supports and uplifts all its students equally.

Coaches are great but the business had a split a while back -- pretty unprofessional and extremely difficult to cancel membership.
The amount on injuries this gym produces is staggeringly high. What's worse is most of them are easily avoidable(don't go 100% if you barely know technique). I cannot speak for the other elite gyms but at this one in particular the instruction was mediocre and rushed. Little emphasis was put on technique and everyone seemed more focussed on sucking up to the head instructor. I honestly just felt like another dollar sign here and never got good instruction except for the no gi classes which is why I am giving 2 stars instead of 1
My family has had a poor experience during our session and an extremely poor experience dealing with management. The review of the facility is for the 3-7 year old class: We signed our 3 y/o son up for the 3-7 year old class and did so without a trial session - during our visit of the facility and explanation of the class, we were resolved to have our son start and thought T3MA would be the perfect environment- We paid for the 1st month and GI upfront (+$400 in total fees) The front staff said that the instructor would introduce themselves to our son to soften nerves. Most of the students are closer to 7 than 3, and the class is definitely geared that way as well. Not only did the instructor not introduce themselves (any of them), within a couple minutes of the class starting, there was an immediate frustration that he would take some extra attention relative to the 6 and 7 year olds, and one of the instructors came over and said "If he doesn't start to participate on his own in the next couple minutes, we're going to ask him to sit on the side. We cannot give him special attention over the other students". Large contrast to what was explained. In hindsight we should have done the trial, but the explanation of this class for our 3 y/o son was much more considerate of his age. I'll forever have an image of my son sitting in a line prior to class and saying to me "dad, I'm so nervous", which is frustrating because they did nothing to alleviate that and made it worse as they were agitated that he needed extra attention. To gut check that experience, we then did a trial at a different national chain BJJ facility in Bellevue and had a night and day different experience. The instructor spent a couple minutes with my son prior to class introducing himself, making jokes with him and becoming familiar to each other. The class itself was geared for 3-4 year olds and not 5-7 - there was an expectation that 3 and 4 year olds have limited attention spans and it catered to it. Much better for what we were looking for. Now the management piece - I then asked T3MA if they could treat my 1 and only class as a "free trial" - as they do offer and refund the month we paid for and at least a partial refund of the GI we paid for, since it is specific to T3MA and cannot be used anywhere else. I was told in email essentially "we offer a free trial, you should have done that first" - followed by no response for 7 days upon protest, including not answering or returning phone calls and several email follow-ups, for again them to eventually reply via email and say "you had the option of a free class and didn’t take it, tough luck". I was surprised by the class experience because it didn’t match what was relayed, but I was very surprised by that response and unwillingness to refund any of the $400+ that I was out for my sons single class. Hope this helps families avoid a similar mistake - If you're considering T3MA, definitely do a trial, and more importantly, trial other facilities other than T3MA so you can benchmark the atmosphere and class prior to committing to T3MA.
