Had a beautiful experience training here. As a traveler, I attended open mat class, and confirmed that training partners and coaches of this place were not only highly skilled as a BJJ players, but also as a good teammate with great hospitality even to a stranger like me. If you want to learn the art of Brazilian Jiujitsu and combat sports in Chicago, put Supreme at the top of your list. This school is excellent for beginners and experienced practitioners. The instructors are best in class. Professor Idriz, PJ, and team are all knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate about the art. The facility is well sanitized, and equipped with showers and towel service. They also have a parking lot, and there are plenty of free street parking nearby. I’m grateful for my experience training at Supreme. Since I joined in early 2023, my jiujitsu skills have improved consistently, and I’ve met a lot of good people who are supportive on and off the mats. I always look forward to training here after a long day of work, and I’m grateful to be part of this amazing community!

I trained at Supreme for a bout a year and a half, prior to moving to Cleveland, and had no background in grappling or martial arts. Professor Idriz, PJ, and the rest of the coaches are exceptional. I've been involved in athletics my entire life and they are some of the best teachers/coaches I've ever had. They care about you and your development, and they show up for you every time you come in. The best part about Supreme are the people - everybody is kind and welcoming, not to mention some of the best BJJ talent in the city. From day one I had an incredible experience and can not recommend Supreme enough.

I have been going there for 2 and a half months. I come all the way from the far south side to go there because it's worth the trip. The other students have good manners and so do the professors. This gym is good place for practicing Muslim women, they don't pressure you to take male work out partners. You learn allot from the others students because they are always willing to help. Sometimes my kids have to come along with me, and they sit and watch. None complains and people will talk nicely with them. So overall gym is very friendly towards women and their needs. I will continue to go.
Supreme is a fantastic Jiu Jitsu facility in the city. Instructors Idriz and PJ were very approachable and knowledgeable on both the competitive and self defense side of Jiu Jitsu. A clean, expanding facility with a variety of students.

I’m from Atlanta, GA and I have been out of the gym for about a year but I’m getting plugged back in. I came here to do a drop in. My friends, the coaches, the training partners I had were very nice and we worked on some very essential techniques. Armbars and some defense. Very detailed. The live positional rolling was great too bc I’ve literally not worked in a year. Honestly also this gym seems good for girls too, there was a fiesty latina who seemed hungry to learn and improve, so ladies you can go here too. Just a nice gym family in Chi-town.

I stopped in for a session and to talk about private training. 100% recommend this place the professors are all super nice and helpful, knowledgeable and willing to step in and help. The other people training are all so welcoming and willing to help and friendly.
I am a brown belt who has trained for about 8 years in various places around the world. I have visited this academy twice and I can say that it is a magnificent place, it has everything. good people, good training and excellent facilities. I recommend signing up if you live nearby or visit the city!

Words cannot explain how great Supreme truly is. Professor Idris has done an amazing job cultivating a safe environment to learn and train Jiu-Jitsu. The gym is provides a large well maintained and clean training area as well as locker rooms with showers, soap, shampoo and towels. Professor idris really cares about his students and the Jiu-Jitsu community. Supreme also provides a variety of world class instructors, professor PJ brings an energy to each class that is unmatched, you can always hear the passion in his voice, while Professor Mike's really has a way of slowing things down and making things very easy to understand, just to name a few. The only thing I do not like about Supreme is that it's not closer to my house, I pass up many other schools to get there each time but would not want to train anywhere else.
Came from NYC and dropped in for a no-gi class during my visit to Chicago. The class instructor (Jim ?) had us drill a series of moves that clicked well together. Had a good variety of people (skill wise) to roll with, and everyone was nice/respectful. Overall, great place to train during my trip. Looking forward to coming back.
Stopped into Supreme while visiting Chicago for the weekend, Idriz along with his other coaches were extremely welcoming and friendly. All other members were also super friendly with a variety of skill levels and had some great rolls. The facility was clean with stocked showers and locker rooms too. If you’re in the area I would highly recommend stopping by, any experience level would feel welcome and have a great time here!
I'm 40 and this is my first time training jujitsu. The gym is clean, instructive & welcoming. The stripes, blues & purples I've rolled with are instructive, kind, patient and safe. The coaches are amazing and supportive. I highly recommend this gym!

Great gym with competitive open mats!
First time at this gym. Very nice people, good training partners. I rolled with about 7 different people, mostly guys but a few gals and they matched my pace. No one was too aggressive. Great facilities, it’s got showers and complimentary towels.

Love this place! Had to stop training here because I took a new job in the suburbs, but I still drop in occasionally when I’m in the city. Professor Idriz and his crew really know jiu jitsu and are just phenomenal people on top of it who treat everyone like family. If you’re in Chicago or live in the area, come train here, you’ll be thankful you did!

Alright!! I would love to learn Jiu-jitsu and to be part of this class to learn self defense. Especially, ESPECIALLY knowing that one of these black belt martial artists Idriz Redzovic took down a man who allegedly punched a 7-Eleven clerk which was shown on the news is truly inspiring. I've always wanted to learn martial arts and self defense and this could be a great opportunity even to learn from my future fellow students
Amazing gym! I dropped in while I was in town, and I'm so glad I did. Their facility is top-notch. I felt very comfortable there, and as a woman in the world of jiu-jitsu, that is saying something. Their women's locker room was really nice. Lockers to put your stuff in and can be locked if you have your own lock. It's spacious and private from the doorway to the gym. The locker room was clean, free of smells. They do have showers, which were also well kept. The class went well, Professor Idriz taught. I enjoyed being able to see different variations on something I have already learned. I got to stay for the open mat, which was really fun, being able to roll with completely new people. Professor Perez was great, I rolled with him, and although he kicked my butt I learned a lot. He also gave me a really nice pep talk about gaining the confidence in my skill in jiu-jitsu even though I am new to this. I really appreciated my experience here and definitely a gym I will go back to when I'm in town.
Through random chance I knew someone that has been going here, and I asked him specifically what the culture was like. After the free course trial Supreme is everything that I was looking for. I am a complete beginner at 29 years old, so I wanted to be at a school that had a culture of very welcoming, respectful, and kind people not only from the staff/instructors, but also the clientele that participate here as well. Again, I trusted that the friend was spot on about the culture, but I had to first verify it for myself. Trust, but ALWAYS verify haha. I am grateful that Supreme offers a free trial course to potential future clients. Thus far I have been fortunate enough to train with a blue belt, and several white belts and no one has ever made me feel stupid for making mistakes, and not knowing something. It’s definitely a culture where most importantly I feel safe to learn through failure, and get a little better each time I train.

Excellent gym! I have just started coming here a month ago, and I love everything about this gym already. Coaches/professors/instructors are experts, they explain very well, always polite and friendly. The gym itself is big with plenty of room for all, huge clean changing rooms, showers have shampoo & soap, classes are at reasonable times, and at affordable prices. I, as a beginner and a woman, was a bit worried how I’d do, but I’ve felt very welcomed since day 1. Everyone in the gym is super nice and wants to see you succeed. One of the best life decisions I’ve made, no doubt!

I first heard about Supreme when its owner was on the news for stopping an assailant in a neighborhood 7-11. I set up an appointment for my daughter and was thoroughly impressed with how welcome the other students made her feel and his approach to instruction. He is very down to earth and no ego or Alpha-Male complex. Just a straight-up, no-nonsense, and no BS instructor. She felt very comfortable and I signed her for a 1-year commitment. It's now been 5 months and her level of confidence in public interaction has grown by leaps and bounds. She LOVES the class and has progressed to earning 2-stripes in this time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this school or Idris for one second. BEST thing I did for my daughter...(and my peace of mind)

Mi hijo empezó a entrenar en esta escuela hace 2 años. Note una grande diferencia en su vida. Mi hijo era fumador y ahora ya no lo es. El ambiente de el profesor Idriz es muy positivo y se dedica a ayudar a todos sus estudiantes a ser las mejor versiones de ellos mismo. Yo recomiendo entrenar jiu jitsu en esta ya que es más que un lugar para aprender la arte marcial.

I'm not a student here, but have practiced the art in the past. The reason for the 5 star review is simple. I just read a news report that Idriz employed his master craft on a local criminal at a 7-eleven. What other proof do you need that this man knows his stuff? Supreme Jiu Jitsu is a fantastic school to learn self defense and train sport jiu jitsu. The Street Defense class will teach you the skills necessary for handling yourself in defensive situations. The learning progression is great and will help a novice or experienced student gain the confidence to handle him/herself in the real world. I think what sets Supreme apart from other places is the people. The instructors and students are friendly and welcoming. Everyone is supportive. If you're looking to learn self defense or get into sport jiu jitsu, I'd recommend checking them out.
