I can’t recommend Garry Hamilton and the team at Stockade Gym highly enough. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned fighter, their level of professionalism, discipline, and genuine care for their members sets them apart from any other combat gym in Canberra. The boxing program in particular is outstanding. Garry brings a wealth of experience to every session, combining technical precision with high-intensity drills and strategy. You’re not just learning how to punch — you’re learning how to think like a boxer. The attention to footwork, defence, and conditioning is next-level. There’s a real sense of community and respect across the gym. It’s tough, but it’s also supportive — the kind of place that brings out your best. Whether you’re training for fitness, self-defence, or competition, Stockade is the real deal.

Stockade has a warm and friendly community that is open to all fitness ages and levels. The staff have all at some stage been high level athletes in their respective disciplines, which give you a sense of comfort that they know what they’re teaching. I highly recommend Stockade to anyone who wants to try out or continue their martial art training/fitness.
