Soma has personally denied me access to classes due to my religious beliefs which is their freedom to do. Keep this in mind before you bring your children and loved ones around these people.

My son, my sister and I all train Jiu Jitsu. I love that we can bond while learning how to defend ourselves. My son has shown a lot of improvement, confidence and discipline. I joined 5 years ago and It has greatly impacted my life. I have applied it to my home life as well as my work life as a firefighter. I really like that there is no ego on the mat and everyone works well with each other. The instructor James Horne is an outstanding person and a family man. He is very passionate about the art of Jiu Jitsu. Our team really reflects our instructor. We like to welcome any new members as part of our Jiu Jitsu family.

EDIT: 6 years later, it only gets better! This is such a great environment dedicated to the bettering of yourself, through self defense. The Instructor, James Horne, is a phenomenal teacher, and knows this material inside and out. I have been attending roughly 4 years and would not trade my time in here for anything else. Join today, and see how you can better yourself!

I am 24, I work in a factory, and I have been going to Soma for a little over a year. It has been the best investment for my wellbeing and personal growth. Jim is a fantastic instructor and works with you to give you the best experience. Highly recommend.

Instructor James is a great teacher . Super technical and has the ability to break everything down in such a simple way that it's very easy to understand. Which is good for a 32 year old with no prior experience. The other students have been very friendly and super helpful. There is a comradery here that I have seen extend outside the school. This is such a great environment , Brazilian jiu jitsu is really healthy for you! It's good for the mind and body. BJJ reminds the body you still need it to move and function. It keeps the body from growing dormant and keeps the mind sharp. For me it's a good way to fight against aging and anxiety, So If you're looking for something more then headphones and weight machines, if you're looking to be apart of a team again, If your looking for a hobby you can have for the rest of your life. You owe it to yourself to come in and roll around!
