Exceptional experience blending beginners, amateur competitors and pros. The quality of the instruction is world class and the culture is even better…friendly, fun, inspiring and safe.
What a wonderful gym to have in the neighborhood. The instruction is first rate, the facilities are great, and the people are friendly and welcoming. I recommend it to everyone!
My cousin and his wife (Gaston and Molly) are regulars at this gym. They invited me to go train Muy Thai with them and at first, I was very nervous. The same feeling you’d experience when you’re going to the gym for the first time ever. Upon entering, everyone was super friendly and very welcoming to a newbie like myself. Stefan was also very welcoming and friendly, asking how the training session went. I appreciate everyone making me feel welcomed during my time there!
Skrap Pack is one of the best gyms I’ve been to with some of the most real people working there. Everyone is so accepting and helpful when you’re learning a new skill and you’ll truly feel like one of the pack when you go here. Couldn’t recommend this gym more!
This is what the Marina needed! A professional/experienced martial arts gym! The instructors have done an amazing job creating a family and community in the heart of the Marina. Don’t forget to check out their self defense classes as well!
Best new gym in the city by far. Led by high-level former pro-fighter(s), this is a place you can both learn and grow, beginners and experts alike. Everyone at the gym (including all the students!) are friendly and welcoming. Shout out to the competition jiu jitsu class and the weight lifting coach 😉
Amazing gym, I come in for boxing, bjj, and Muay Thai. Learned a lot through this gym this past year and hope to learn much more. Amazing music as well.
Skrap pak offers top notch striking and bjj. The instructors are great. The best part, imo, is the community of people who go there. Everyone is welcome and supportive of one another no matter how long you’ve been training
If I could give a million stars I would. I've been to a couple boxing, MMA, jiujitsu gyms and this gym has never made it feel like just a place to sweat, but instead of wonderful community of open individuals. Whether you're looking to compete or just casually learn a new sport, Stefan and his group of instructors make the content easy to understand and also challenging and fulfilling at the same time.
I joined to casually learn and immediately fell in love with competing. Stef is an amazing coach who ensures you feel comfortable and supported no matter what the outcome. No matter how near or far you're competing, he's there to support and coach.
Typically in MMA gyms, it's hard to find someone my size as a woman. Skrappack Marina has an amazing women's class and great group of ladies who just love to roll and drill.
Great gym, great atmosphere, great instructors, great equipment. Everyone was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. It really felt like everyone enjoyed being there.
as a total jujitsu newbie, walking into gym on Union Street felt like stepping onto another planet. But the moment Brittney and Stef, the awesome owners, greeted me with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm, I knew I was in good hands. They weren't just instructors; they were like coaches.
The community there was incredible. Everyone, from seasoned black belts to fellow white belts like me, treated me with respect and encouragement. There was no ego, just a shared passion for learning and a camaraderie that made every session a blast.
The gym itself was a haven for self-improvement. It was clean, spacious, and perfectly equipped, with a vibe that was both serious about training and friendly enough to make you want to hang out long after class. The instructors, Brittney and Stef, were masters of their craft. They broke down complex techniques into understandable steps, corrected mistakes with patience, and always pushed me to reach my potential. I never felt lost or overwhelmed, just challenged and inspired.
In just a few short weeks, ive has become more than just a gym; it's become a second home. The confidence I'm gaining on the mat is spilling over into other areas of my life. I'm stronger, fitter, and most importantly, I'm having a blast.
So, if you're looking for a fantastic jujitsu experience, whether you're a seasoned warrior or a wide-eyed newbie like me, Jon Union Street is the place to be. This gym is an absolute five-star experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, supportive, and life-changing workout.
Finally a gym like this comes to the Marina! I have been wanting to take a self defense class for a while, and didn't know where to look...until I came across Skrap pack while walking on union street. I signed up immediately! I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the gym, the professionalism and most important I felt the training and techniques were spot on. I'm a newbie...and the teacher made understanding these moves easy and I instantly feel more empowered(and safer as a woman walking around in the city). I can't wait to advance my skills. So happy I found this spot
A great gym for people from young to old and all levels of experience! I travelled through San Francisco and was lucky to find Skrap Pack. Stefan is the heart and soul of this gym, he and the other coaches are really professional making it their goal to share their knowledge and teach proper Martial Arts.
I spent 2 weeks intense training and was able to really focus on technique and expand my repertoire . It was a great training community that welcomed me instantly.
Thank you to you all! 🙏
I was on holiday in San Francisco for a week and came three times for muay thai. Stefan is a wonderful instructor on top of being a super nice person, he gives thorough advice and has the ability to communicate his love of the art. I tried jiu jitsu with him for the first time and learned a lot. Classes are tailormade, challenging and fun. The place is clean, welcoming and has good equipment. I will definitely come back next time I visit SF!
The best new gym in the marina. Great coaches who will help you learn the best techniques. Great either for a general workout or if you want to build you combat knowledge and compete. Truly a welcoming family enviornment.
Been looking for a mixed martial arts gym for some time now and accidentally stumbled upon this place while walking my dog.
Spoke with the owner Stefan about what they taught (boxing, grappling, wresting, Jiu Jitsu, muy Thai, and much more) and where the name came from. If you are familiar with the Skrap Pack you know they are comprised of some of the best fighters in the business Gilbert Melendez, Jake Shields, Nate Diaz, Nick Diaz, Daniel Roberts, and David Terrell.
Gilbert, Stefan, Moses, and Sean all world class athletes/pros teach multiple classes a day and they also bring in multiple professional/champion athletes each week to train with the class as well.
For the price you are getting top of the line training with pro athletes, clean equipment, and a fun/competitive environment for all experience levels, ages, and genders. The added bonus you are probably burning close to 500-1000+ calories a workout.
I would highly recommend stopping by and chatting with some of the people here and trying it out! Might be what you look forward to everyday, I know I do!
Skrap Pack is a world class gym and the Marina is lucky to have such an authentic group of teachers dedicated to their craft. It’s not easy to create a sense of community, support and even family— and that is exactly what they’ve done.
The highlight of my day! My friends know we have to schedule activities around my Skrap Pack classes 😂
I've been training with Stefan and crew for a couple of months now, in the adult jiu jitsu classes. After my first class I knew I was signing up for the long haul. People are incredibly supportive, skilled, welcoming, and know how to leave their egos at the door. Plus, everyone genuinely likes each other and goes out of their way to get to know newcomers. It's an awesome community.
As a woman I've never felt sidelined when it comes to finding partners to practice or roll with. Best of all, there's a good sized (and growing) crew of women students and a women's class on Saturdays. Girl power is real!
I love that the membership gives me access to all the Skrap Pack classes - thinking of checking out Boxing or Muay Thai next!
The instructors at Skrappack are world-class professionals and fun human beings. I typically take classes with Stefan S. and he is awesome! Even in group classes you get individualized attention to enhance your technique. I love seeing how my style has progressed over time. Classes are styled to choose your own adventure so you never have to do anything you are uncomfortable with, but at the same time there is space to be challenged to enhance your caliber for competitions. The gym is incredibly friendly - over a few short months it's become a home away from home.
Skrap Pack is easily one of the best MMA gyms in SF. The classes, whether its the Brazilian Jul-Jitsu, Boxing, or Muay Thai, are addicting.
Everyone here is extremely friendly, and welcoming - not just the instructors but everyone who trains here too. While the gym is growing fairly quickly the culture is very close-knit.
It is easy to find get what you want out of the gym, whether you are trying to pick up a hobby, want to get into shape, or if you want to do some competing, you'll find it here. Stop by and try out a class :)
