Posted 1 year agoSERG BJJ is awesome. I was in Savannah on vacation and needed to train. Coach Mike was exceptionally welcoming and kind. All of his students were the same. Trained for an hour plus and no egos. Going back again this week and will def go back in the future. I feel as though I just expanded my jui jitsui family. Great gym, great people!!!

Great spirit, fighters of every level and a professor who’s a technical genius 💪💪 It’s a pity I can’t come and roll with this team regularly as I’m from Germany but next time I’m in town I will definitely show up again. I’m originally from Memphis TN and Coach Serg welcomed me with open arms. I had some very tough rolls with his students and had the absolute pleasure of rolling with the man himself. Like a boa constrictor this guy. It’s obvious after visiting this gym I still have so much to learn. We did guard passing and knee on belly. A great time in a great city. Thanks Coach!

I had an amazing experience while visiting SERG Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Fitness during a work trip. The academy has a very welcoming atmosphere with top notch instructors that are caring & knowledgeable! I highly recommend this academy to all; beginners or more experienced grapplers.
Dropped in while I was visiting Savannah for work - GREAT School and GREAT people! Michael was incredible. Great instructor & leader. Really appreciated the warm welcome and I will definitely be back!
SethBJJ is an incredible place to train, and the Professor Michael Sergi is awesome! From the moment I walked in, he was extremely welcoming, making me feel at home right away. His teaching style is clear, technical, and engaging, and the atmosphere he has built in the gym reflects his passion for Jiu-Jitsu and his respect for the art. I was lucky to drop in at Serg BJJ as a newer white belt I was obviously a little intimidated going somewhere outside of my own academy. That sense of dread was immediately cast aside as everyone was so welcoming and super easy to talk to. Michael Sergi has one of the (if not the) best spot around. This gym may seem small as it’s a garage style gym, but don’t be fooled. The absolute amount of knowledge and the level of care for the facility is unmatched. You can instantly tell when someone truly cares about their students in how they teach - it’s not just a job for them… it’s a passion. Serg BJJ is the place to be!!!

I’m visiting from out of town and decided to do a drop in at this gym. From the very beginning Serg was very accepting and receptive to having me come train at his gym as a guest. I’ve visited many gyms but never been to one this nice and welcoming. The students were extremely nice and I had some amazing rolls while I was there. The professors were absolutely amazing! Class was very straight forward and easy to understand. If I lived in Savannah I would 100% train here full time. If you’re new to BJJ or looking for a new place to train, I would highly recommend SergBJJ. As a side note, this gym has definitely made a name for itself. I live in north Georgia and there are many people that rave about SergBJJ. My coach suggested visiting this gym due to the great reputation of the instructors here.

SERG BJJ is a great academy and I highly recommend it to anyone at any skill level. I came in the door with zero experience and I receive great coaching from Coach Sergi as well as from my training partners. Everyone is very helpful and respectful. Coach Serg has created a welcoming and safe environment to learn and practice Brazilian jiu jitsu. Great training partners of all levels, everyone is supportive and the vibes are always positive. Cannot recommend enough for anyone local to the Savannah area or out of town looking to drop in.
While visiting Savannah I found SERG BJJ and decided to pop in for a class (SO GLAD I DID). Both Coach and the students were so welcoming. The class was very interesting and the rolls were very technical. Rolling partners were super solid and respectful. It was very homey and reminded me of my academy. Definitely coming back here next time I’m in town.
While I am on biz trip, I took a drop in class here. The professor and other members welcome me a lot. The mood was so great and they rolled with me softly not to be injured. If you're interested in bjj, don't hesitate to join SergBjj.

It's such a great vibe and great jiu-jitsu. Everyone is very welcoming, and instruction is great. Amazing blackbelts and training partners no matter what your skill level is. There are many skilled higher belts and they all help bring the lower belts up. I can't say enough. Professor Serg is a great blackbelt and looks out for his students and his team. Great place to train and meet like minded jiu-jitsu people.

I was in town for business & messaged ahead to see if i was able to train at one of their classes, was replied to almost instantly and given a full list of all classes whilst i was in town! great start!! when i attended the gym was immediately welcomed by the team and shown around the facilities and got down to business with a very talented group, learnt a couple of new things and got to roll with some of the lower & higher belts. Purchased some high quality merch when finished! 10/10 overall experience! Will 100% be returning when im back in town later in the year, thanks coach!

Visited Serg BJJ coming from North Carolina and my experience was amazing. Called serg before the school was even open and he invited me to join class, giving me lots of options and times. Once I was there, everyone was super friendly and helpful. The instruction was great (chase did an awesome job) and was tailored both for experienced practitioners and new comers which isn’t an easy thing to do. The facilities were clean, the staff were very knowledgeable, and students were all amazing and very welcoming. Definitely my go to spot whenever I visit Savannah. Thanks serg, chase, and team!
Cannot recommend enough. I dropped in as a visitor while in town. The facility was clean and well maintained and the instruction was top notch. Most importantly, the culture was great. I was welcomed with open arms and treated like family. I got in some great rounds. If I lived in the area tbis would 100% be my home gym.

I am pretty new to BJJ and was visiting from out of town and dropped in on a class. I was super impressed, Serg was super welcoming as was everyone in the class. The whole experience was extremely professional. I have been to one other BJJ place in Savannah and I wasn’t impressed.
This gym is of the highest quality. I have trained at multiple gyms throughout the area and can tell you that the instruction and the members you will train with are top notch. Michael Sergi, the instructor/owner, puts a strong emphasis on fundamentals and provides detailed insight on higher level techniques. My wife and I were visiting Savannah and saw that SERG was having an open mat on Saturday. I asked him a week beforehand if we could and he openly invited us. When we got there, everyone was super friendly and welcoming. No one was trying to head hunt or kill us. Serg himself was super chill and gave us a bunch of recommendations for restaurants. Serg runs a great gym and all of his people are really friendly. Highly recommend.

I dropped in today, I usually train out of town. I was greeted with an overwhelming sense of welcome. The people in the class were kind and courteous. Sergi provided some great instruction, and then we rolled for the remainder of class. This was a wonderful experience and, I will be back in the future! I cannot express how much I enjoyed this experience!

I dropped in on a no-gi class while on a work trip. The students and instructor were very friendly and immediately welcomed me. The instructor gave me feedback and pointers even though he knew I was just visiting. I felt very safe rolling and drilling with everyone. Nice clean facility!
I don’t believe that I can truly do SERG BJJ and Fitness justice in a review, so I will begin with urging anyone curious about BJJ or this gym to go visit. Five minutes with the professor and his students will be enough to know that you’ve come to the right place. Sergi is an extremely thoughtful and skilled teacher and will help a student, beginner, experienced, young, old or downright uncoordinated to find fun and fitness within his gym. The students are some of the finest human beings I’ve ever trained with. The higher belts treated me with dignity and respect. The lower belts are supportive of one another and really seek to understand technique and proper forms under Sergi’s direction. Please go check them out!
I stopped in for an open matt while I was visiting from out of town. I must say the atmosphere here is very welcoming and the students and instructors are very friendly. The rolls here are as great as anywhere I’ve ever been if not better. Fantastic training and will definitely be back for more.
Super awesome gym!! As a beginner in the sport I was apprehensive at the start, but the people there are great and made me feel very welcome. This helped me learn quicker and start to really enjoy showing up. Overall amazing place to train.
Down in tybee for vacation and just picked this gym at random. Gym was great and coach was excellent, thorough on instructions. Everyone greeted me like I have been coming forever. Asked me when I was coming back and made me feel like I belonged. All the students were knowledgeable and safe at our rolls. I definitely recommend Sergs gym and will be definitely returning this week and next year when I am back in town!

My husband brought our teenage son in while we were on vacation. He had a tournament the Saturday we got home and our son needed to get some rolls in. They went a couple of times. It was clean, efficient, professional and extremely welcoming. We lived in the Savannah area for 11 years (moved a year ago) and have gone to 3 different BJJ places while we lived here. This was hands down the best! When we move back in a couple of years we will definitely become full time members. Thank you for a fantastic experience!
Exceptional experience at SERG BJJ!! We were traveling through Savannah and Serg BJJ opened its doors to us in the most accepting and confidence inspiring way. Visited from NC at the suggestion of my Black Belt friend who said “Serg is and always will be one of my favorite black belts on this planet” While I didn’t get to meet Serg, my friend and I had an awesome time at training. My experience at Serg BJJ has been phenomenal. I was a total beginner with no wrestling or BJJ background at all, but that didn’t matter. Serg and the people at are at that gym made me feel right at home. The trainings on the fundamentals and new moves were made simple so even newbies ( like myself) could get the hang of them by the end of the practice. The people that you roll with are awesome people that genuinely care about your safety, your understanding of the positions, and your improvement in this discipline. Many of the members would hang out after the class to show me tips and techniques to help me with my positioning and execution of different moves. I can’t say enough good things about the people that attend the classes and how well they are taught.
We stop by and train every time we are in town. Tried other places but we always come back to SERGs . I Highly recommend!
Serg is a fantastic coach and a true master of the art. His instruction is thorough and easy to understand for all levels. The students all have great fundamentals and are very helpful. Was in Savannah from out of town and joined the Thursday fundamental class and Saturday open mat. The drilling was absolutely solid and I picked up some new moves. I met Mike years before he had his own gym - but was already a formidable Brown belt and highly regarded strength and conditioning coach. He took time out of his busy college level coaching schedule to come teach myself and a group of other kickboxers grappling fundamentals for mma and self-defense - for free. His passion for Jiu Jitsu is contagious - and ultimately meeting him was the only reason I decided to put on a gi. And that decision led to many amazing years on the mats and a lot of beautiful, lasting relationships. Im not someone who competes anymore or even trains all that regularly, but the years I spent learning from and training with Mike, profoundly impacted my life. His teaching style is laid back transference of enthusiasm for the art and his extensive technical knowledge to his students and community. There are a lot of great places to train in Savannah now and the Jiu Jitsu community at large is better for it, but I can’t recommend enough training with Mike and letting his passion and enthusiasm for the art of Jiu Jitsu, his technical knowledge, hard-earned experience, and calm energy be a part of your martial arts journey. if you’re visiting Savannah or live here and are looking for a place to train - beginner or advanced - definitely check his academy out.

I was in town for work and wanted to find a place to train while away from home. Serg was extremely welcoming and treated me just like one of his own. I very much enjoyed the technique that was taught and how it was taught conceptually as well. I also liked how they have both gi and no gi classes on the same night. The facility was also very clean and comfortable to train in. I would highly recommended checking this place out!
Veterans have a difficult time finding someplace they belong after leaving the service. With Serge BJJ I found my tribe. Everyone is helpful, kind, thoughtful, and welcoming. I have never felt more a part of anything before besides the military, and even more so with this group of incredible people. Other bonuses were that I lost weight and increased stamina and self-confidence. If you’re on the fence, trust me, and give it a try!!

The instructor was attentive yet not isolating. He was VERY patient with everyone's needs. The bathroom and mats were clean. The students were cohesive and welcoming. They were respectful and cordial. The environment cultivated here is a safe space to challenge oneself with the goal of steady personal growth in all aspects. Coming back from a 3 year break was intimidating. Truly, there was nothing to worry about. I left with more than my fair share of techniques and motivation to spare. As a female traveler I would like to vouch for this gym as a safe spot to try. There was no special treatment due to my gender, just a modification due to my physical limitations because of the extra pounds, thanks to Covid. A great place to train!

I have known Michael Sergi for more than ten years. I have trained Jiu jitsu under him since 2010. He is an outstanding individual, and a person I hold in high regard on and off the mats. He is a family man and upstanding member of the community. Like many of his students, I train multiple times per week at his school. I’ve met some great people and made many good friends there. Been training here for about a year and a half. It's been a very welcoming and educational environment since day 1. Nearly everybody I've met there has been committed to building a strong team dynamic, and those that aren't don't last. Michael Sergi is a great instructor for two reasons. 1) His experience. 2) His ability to be honest with himself and others. There are students in the school who are better than he is at some things, and he will not hesitate to defer to them, even encouraging them to teach classes and techniques themselves. He doesn't let ego stand in the way of good jiu jitsu, which is why he's helped create such a great place to learn. Highly recommend, regardless of your age, gender, physical condition, or athletic background.

I drive 2 hours, and past multiple other schools, on my way to train with him if that tells you anything. This school provides a safe clean environment to train, learn, and grow in. Mike teaches in a easy to understand way and can quickly diagnose problems or ways to improve each student's game. He also regularly brings in the best instructors from all over the world for seminars. I highly recommend this school to anyone living in or visiting Savannah or the surrounding area.
Professor Sergi provides great thorough instruction. He has a great facility with some of the nicest feeling mats I've ever stepped on. Would definitely recommend training at his school, if you're in the area.
