My 9 year old son and I started training here in mid March and both absolutely love it. I see the confidence growth in my son and myself as well. All classes are very detailed and fun to be a part of for everyone from beginner to advanced levels. Will always highly recommend SBGNB.

The coaches and programs at SBG are exceptional. They hold high expectations for students from day 1. At the same time, they balance the firm and consistent expectations with genuine care and warmth. My son has gained confidence and skill because the coaches are such quality educators - providing clear instruction, opportunities for practice, and precise feedback. We could not be happier with the combination of personal growth, fun, and training our son is experiencing here.

Best school ever! New to the sport and they make you feel welcomed and at ease. The foundations class of very beginner friendly. The coaches are great at breaking down all the techniques to ensure everyone grasp it. All the coaches are all very friendly and great at instructing. They ensure everyone is being safe so no injuries occur. My son is also in their classes and he absolutely loves it! I highly recommend this school looking to start the sport or even to switch schools!

Wonderful place for kids to learn Jiu Jitsu and more. My kid tried out a free class to see if he likes it and we decided to formally enroll him. if he could come every day, he totally would! he started off with the Explorers class geared towards the new kids learning and honing BJJ techniques, and has now reached Leadership level. Other than actual BJJ techniques, the coaches encourage a positive learning environment teaching life skills and helping the kids develop leadership skills, sportsmanship, responsibility, discipline, team work and more. My kid loves going to class, and is well supported by the coaches and the team. the coaches are easy to approach and talk to if you have any concerns or issues. As a mom watching my boy in class and how much he enjoys it, I am almost convinced to try out the adults classes. they offer ladies classes, mixed group class, i believe a yoga class as well. I’ve noticed they also host more experienced BJJ coaches/ athletes to share their knowledge. overall a great place to learn jiu jitsu and even expand your knowledge and skills for the sport.

This place is the best! all three of my boys train here and it’s like family. Coach Kaylee and coach Michael are two of the most lethal/loving people in combat sports! I highly recommend SBG for the entire family! It’s not just training how to choke someone out. It’s training discipline and self control for your children. At least come check it out they offer a 1 hour free trial explorer class! Do it!

I have a coworker that does Jiu-Jitsu professionally, as well as his daughter. After hearing him talk about it, we decided we wanted to see if our 5 year old daughter would enjoy it, and we found SBG. I cannot talk about them highly enough. The coaches are phenomenal, you can tell they truly love what they do and love to pass it on. My daughter is not only learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but every month is a new life lesson that will help her throughout many aspects of life. Class days are her favorite days of the week and I have to call it quits on practicing at home or she would go all night lol. I can't wait to see where this will take her, into leadership roles with confidence and having skills that will be life long, the list it endless. Thank you so much to Coach Kaylee and Coach Cade, we appreciate everything you do!!

We are thrilled to share our experience with the kids' jiu-jitsu program at SBG! From the moment we joined, Coach Kaylee, Michael, and Cade have made a significant impact on our son's development. When we first started, he struggled even with simple movements like front rolls and needed help with his coordination. Fast forward a couple of years, and the progress he has made is amazing. Not only has his physical ability improved, but his confidence in himself as well. We feel fortunate to be part of this community, and we look forward to continuing our journey with SBG. It's more than just a program; it’s a place where our son thrives and has fun while learning valuable skills. Highly recommend!!

SBG New Braunfels provides the perfect environment for anyone looking to train BJJ. The open atmosphere is conducive to children and adults, beginners who are interested in self defense training or BJJ and experienced individuals looking to continue their training. They have a developed curriculum for children focused on life skills and BJJ techniques, aimed at producing well rounded children both on and off the mats. They have a variety of classes specializing in kickboxing, yoga, and weight training. One of the highlights of this gym is its ladies only class / open mat! Both my kids love their jiu jitsu classes! They have grown so much since starting this program. They are not only taught techniques but also includes social emotional learning which makes this a very well rounded program. The staff is always great very supportive and encouraging. The SBG vibe is always positive and encouraging no matter what age. It really feels like a big family! I like they offer the different skill levels so the kids can grow and progress. The leadership skills are put to the test which is great as this not only prepares them for the next program level but also for any other situation outside SBG like school or home life. This is a great way to get kids to speak in front of others with confidence and not be afraid to speak up. The skills taught don’t just stay in the gym but are applicable everywhere. This program has definitely boosted our kids self confidence and they look forward to learning more and always improving themselves. Coaches Kaylee and Michael are great with the kids, they challenge them and bring out the best in them. We enjoy SBG and think they are a wonderful program!

We started going to SBJ for their kids program. Our son (5 years old) LOVES it. He is a better kid for it too. SBJ incorporates lifeskills homework into each month that helps kids grow and earn stripes. My son knows he must work hard and focus to be rewarded in this sport. We have LOVED every coach we get to work with. SBJ offers classes for kids daily. My husband and I also began our JuJitsu Journey a few weeks after our son and have never looked back. We get 1 on 1 time together, learn a new skill together, but we also get to show our son that we too can do hard things and will grow and learn alongside him in this journey. Each adult class is structured, fun, and a great workout. We attend the morning classes at 6am twice a week as well as some afternoon classes. Kaylee, Michael, Cade, and all other coaches truly make me and my family feel supported and welcomed during this journey.

It was a long day today at work. The heat didn't help, but no matter what. I always need to get the reps in either running miles or hitting the gym, but lately, it has been Jui-Jiu-jitsu in the mix. Life will always challenge you, always test you. This past year has definitely done that to me. This January, I started my BJJ journey. When I met my coach, Michael Heinz, he explained what SBG was, the people involved, from that interaction that day I was in. Of course, I was nervous, intimidated on day one. But the SBG community was very welcoming and showed the way. Each class Coach Michael, Coach Kaylee, and the other coaches break down the details of Jiu-jitsu so you can absorb as much as possible. It is awesome!! Each class keeps you engaged, and I find myself wanting to come back. This past weekend was another layer to solidify me wanting to continue to learn and grow in the sport. I was able to participate in a seminar with my coaches, coach Dr. John Frankl 5th degree black belt. Two days of leg locks. Let me tell you that was another level of breaking down the fine details of leg lock. Literally from the toes on up. Thank you, Coach Frankl, for the amazing seminar. I look forward to the next one. Coach Michael and Coach Kaylee and SBG Family, it was a great experience. #sbg #sbgnewbruanfels #Jiujitsu #doesthatmakesense #1_2_3👏

We’ve been at SBG for about a month now and I am consistently amazed at how Coach Kaylee is with the students. She is patient, thoughtful, and firm - a great example. My child’s behavior is improved (it wasn’t bad, she is just more disciplined!) and she looks forward to jujitsu days like Christmas morning. We spoke to many other gyms and never even stepped foot in the door because I could tell it didn’t have the same feel as SBG. I can’t wait to watch my kiddo grow in the most valuable life and self defense skills!

I have been going to SBG for about a week now, and my only regret is that I didn’t start sooner. I have to admit that I am a little older so I was nervous about learning something that could possibly get me injured, but I have to say that the instructors at this Gym really take the time to make sure we all learn things correctly and safely. This has been such a great experience and I hope to keep going for as long as possible. If you decide to join, you will only be helping yourself in becoming more confident and possibly more dangerous. Don’t just take my word for it. Try it out. See for yourself.

This is by far the best children’s BJJ class I have come across, and I’ve seen many all over the country. Not only is the class great for learning BJJ but they also spend time on character development and personal health practices. My daughter loves going yo the classes and she generally won’t engage in any sports or extra curricular activities. On top of that she’s learning great skills outside of class as they encourage good habits outside of class, like keeping your room clean, being respectful, brushing your teeth, helping your parents etc etc.. I’m quite thrilled to have found this program for my daughter and I expect she’ll grow quite well being there, while also having a lot of fun. In addition, the adult classes are run well too. I trained for over 10 years at various gyms in various states but I then took about seven year break shortly after my daughter was born and although I missed the community, I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to get back on the mat. My priority was finding a place that not only had good instructors but also a safe environment for us slightly older folk that are trying to avoid injuries. It’s good to be able to train at 100% but you still have to know that your training partners don’t have a culture of being idiots and potentially injuring you unnecessarily. SBGI New Braunfels does a great job of attracting good people and after seeing how they ran things and meeting a few people, I signed up and I’m now back to taking classes. I enjoy it quite a bit and and very thankful to have an excellent place to train. They do, of course, have good classes geared at those who do want to compete and training in a much more intense fashion than I am at these days but it’s great to know that this is a well-rounded family that has options for everybody at all levels. Overall, I’m quite impressed so far and as I’ve said, I’ve had a great deal of experience around a variety of different gyms. If you’re looking into training or just a great program for your kids, I can’t recommend them enough.

The environment and training are exceptional. The coaches pay attention to each student and their progress. The kids jui jitsu program mixes the age groups together which helps the younger ones learn from the older children. Technical moves and exercises are honed each and every class. This continues the building process of the art. Repetitive and fine tuned. My wife and I recommend this fantastic environment to anyone looking for a disciplined, exciting and fun place to go.

SBG has an excellent BJJ program. My son started 3 years ago and it has done so much for his confidence. He did the youth program and the leadership program and is now taking the adult classes. Coach Michael and Coach Kaylee coach with respect, kindness, and discipline. They focus on life lessons and techniques to use in the gym and real life. We are so happy we found them after trying out a couple of BJJ gyms before them. Coach Kaylee & Coach Michael are great with the kids, and they have created an environment where kids learn and have fun doing so. We absolutely love SBG New Braunfels! The coaches are amazing and you can tell that they genuinely care about each and every one of their students. They take the time to really get to know the kids and that’s something that I really appreciate. It’s apparent that they understand the importance of children learning through play as they strive to incorporate fun and games into every class. In addition, students also practice mindfulness, meditation, and life skills through meaningful discussions with their peers/coaches. Amazing Instruction!!!!! I cannot say enough about this gym or their coaches. We found SBG Texas while looking for a program for our 8 year old son. After trying out others in our area , we were astounded at the quality instruction, their patience with children, and their ability to connect with their students. But the biggest factor was their emphasis on realistic and relevant but safe training. And that is to say nothing of their extended programs that focus on character self awareness and well being. Now over a year later we have seen a tremendous change in our son’s self respect, confidence and happiness. I can wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend this gym to any family. Thanks SBG for being so amazing!

SBG is it!! As a parent with two children who have studied a variety of martial arts (kung fu, mma, Muaythai, and BJJ) and having been in various gyms and dojos SBG is truly the best. It is evident that Kaylee and Michael both are natural born teachers with a love for finding a way to connect with their students - mentally, physically and emotionally. They infuse each class with the mindfulness practice of meditation and with discussions and focus on life skills. They are serious about BJJ and approach it with discipline and respect but they also understand that children benefit greatly from fun, making that a priority in each class as well. If you are looking for a place where you, your children or your family can receive top notch BJJ instruction with an appreciation for the depths of the practice - SBG is it!

SBG New Braunfels has an amazing BJJ program, but that isn’t what makes it so special. The owners and head coachs have years of experience in teaching and have been training in BJJ for well over a decade. We chose this gym because their program trains and educates more than BJJ techniques. Every month the kids learn about a new character trait and how it can apply to their lives. This month the lesson was on courage and SBG has helped my son find his courage. He went from being too nervous to step on the mat to medaling in his first tournament in less than a year. Now our whole family enjoys the program. Michael and Kaylee have created so much more than a gym. We truly are a tribe. We support each other and celebrate together. As Coach Michael says, give them what they want and then give them more.

We wanted to get our son back into something after Covid slowed down. Our son was very outgoing and definitely can make friends with anyone. However, he has a heart of gold. He was so gentle and kind to anyone that he met. Yes, I know we are very blessed that he is this way. However, my momma heart couldn’t stop thinking of the day that some other kid might bully him or take advantage of his kindness. He’s on the smaller side and never had an ounce of aggression in him. We couldn’t be any more thankful that we found SBG for him. He has loved it from day 1. His confidence has done nothing but soar since we enrolled him. I no longer worry about him being able to stand up for himself. The instructors there are very encouraging and wonderful with the kids. My boy is still the same person he was before. I just no longer worry about him like I used to. I cannot say enough good things about the gym. They teach the kids life skills, how to defend themselves and how to be a wonderful community member. They also approach teaching in a way that the kids love.

I can not speak highly enough of this place, the owners, and everyone else involved here. My son has been attending right at a year now and is still as eager, if not more, to attend each class. Coach Kaylee and Coach Michael are amazing in how they can focus on each kid on the form of Jiu Jitsu, and yet also focus on the lifestyle that it can provide in terms of confidence, self discipline, and self reliability. I was referred to them because of their credibility and knowledge in Jiu Jitsu and was astounded to find out that it is also a "well rounded" place, that cares about the "physical and emotional growth/well being" of your kiddos. Obviously, I highly recommend it!

This is our first jiujitsu experience and after a month of joining we are thrilled.. The facility is very clean, the coaches are very friendly and professional. Our 5 year old son in thriving in the fun, yet structured environment. His confidence has grown, his skill level improves each week and he asks when do we get to go to class. Winning! The socialization he is also soaking up is very positive. Kids here are here to learn, participate and be respectful of others. It’s not a free for all and that’s exactly what we wanted to invest our time and money into. We are looking forward to continuing this relationship. All of the coaches are super helpful and friendly. Coach Kaylee gets a special shout out! She followed up with me from day one and has treated us amazingly. We aren’t just another number. She cares about everyone here and it shows in her day to day Hello’s (by name) to each student who comes through the door. Thank you for making us feel so Welcome!

I've been training at SBG New Braunfels since July 2022, and I've had nothing but an amazing experience since joining! The coaches are all amazing people (on and off the mats) and have a deep passion for teaching jiu jitsu. This extends to the people that train here - I felt welcomed by the other students in class from my first day on the mats. I've been training for a couple years; however, my ability to learn and retain knowledge has drastically improved since I started training at SBG New Braunfels. The approach the coaches take in teaching their students is structured and emphasizes strong foundations. One of my favorite aspects of training here is the solid hour of learning that each class brings along with the opportunities to attend in house seminars with high caliber instructors like John Frankl (founder of SBG Korea). I'm excited for what's to come and look forward to continuing to train here!

SBG is awesome. It’s a place you initially go to for Jiu Jitsu, but end up with so much more… an extended family! Going to SBG is something that I look forward to 3-4 times a week. The classes are taught professionally, and the coaches always make themselves available for clarification on any of the material after class if needed. I love SBG and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to learn BJJ.

I recently started training at SBG. having never done Jui Jitsu I was nervous to be entering into a new thing. I cannot say enough how grateful I am that I picked this gym. The coaches are phenomenal at what they do. The environment is professional, clean, friendly, and so welcoming. Jui Jitsu has been really therapeutic for me, mentally and physically. Id highly recommend SBG to anyone. Worth every penny.

I really enjoy training at SBG! The ownership is very welcoming, with a focus on safety first. SBG’s initial training plan prioritizes learning the fundamentals of BJJ, while also connecting the movement to real world scenarios. I would absolutely recommend SBG to anyone who wants to join a gym with knowledge coaches and a positive environment.

SBG provides a way to stay in shape physically, while having fun and making friends. BJJ is a great problem solving challenge; every class I learn something new and mentally test myself. After live drilling, I leave the gym sweaty and undoubtedly knowing that I had a great work-out. At SBG I have witnessed older people regain mobility, and younger people grow athletically. Members learn practical self-defense and gain confidence in how to address real-world confrontations. This gym is full of great people from very diverse backgrounds. Everyone here enjoys being mentally/physically tested, and welcoming failure as a part of growth; this attracts “winning” personalities. Growing up in the NB area, I cannot think of a better way to meet such a diverse group of successful people. SBG Texas is owned/operated by organized professionals. Head Coach Michael is a former professor who knows how to teach. Kaylee keeps the gym extremely clean, and running like a proper business. Nothing ever feels sloppy and they constantly provide new BJJ learning opportunities.

It’s a new year and we are waiting for YOU to come and participate in the rewarding experiences BJJ has to offer. See you on the mats! Kyle

I've been training with SBG Texas for three months now and I am hooked. The owners are an incredible wealth of knowledge in Jiu Jitsu and a host of other topics related to health and wellness. The coaching staff are incredibly personable. The community at the gym is very welcoming. I can't say enough good things about this gym. If you're looking for a place to continue training Jiu Jitsu or are looking to get started, look no further.

We took our son for his first trial session and we were so impressed with the staff and instructors. They took their time in explaining everything and included our son as if he was an existing member. He enjoyed the company of the other kids and the curriculum so we signed him up. Best decision ever. Looking forward on seeing my sons growth. I highly recommend SBG!!

We have been training here since April and it has been one of the best health and fitness decisions we have made. Not only do they emphasize safe training the health benefits have been noticeable. In the time I have been training I have lost over 15 lbs learning a new skill set and having a ton of fun. The kids are also enjoying the journey. Thank you SBG Texas!!

My son had been taking gymnastics at a local gymnasium and it was a fight to get him there once a week. He did NOT want to go. So I researched some martial arts studios and scheduled a consultation at SNG the following day. The employee, Sarah, that was showing me the ropes was so warm and welcoming. The instructors were so good at explaining and demonstrating the different moves in a way he could understand. We come twice a week and he ASKS to go to jujitsu every day. We couldn’t be more thrilled! He is learning so much about jujitsu and life in general. I would recommend this studio to ANYONE looking for a place that really feels like home. I can’t say enough good things about SBG. THANK YOU to everyone at SBG who has played a part in my son’s growth so far and I can’t wait to see what’s next for him!!

Took my son to try a class and Kaylee made us feel at home right away. My son had a terrible experience with a jujitsu gym and was very timid, but once he stepped into class he lit right up. The way Kaylee breaks everything fundamental down with games is amazing, you can just see how passionate she is about the craft. My son couldn’t stop saying how much he wanted to continue.

Meeting Kaylee day one and seeing how she and the coaches work with the kids have been so much fun. They truly care about the techniques and the kid's safety in and out of class. Sarah has been very helpful and eager to answer and questions that come her way. This feels like a tribe/family. Definitely trust my son in the hands of everyone involved here. I highly recommend for anyone that is interested. They have kid's and adult classes!

If you really want to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and improve your quality of life, look no further than SBG New Braunfels. While there are many other benefits, here are five major benefits from my perspective after training a little over eight months at SBG New Braunfels: 1. Safe Training Environment Choosing which gym to train in is a big deal. After all, it’s your hard-earned dollars and health that’s on the line. Just do a simple google search and you’ll find that many Jiu-Jitsu gyms / schools will throw you to the wolves on the first day. For me, those gyms were a non-starter. I’m 34 and healing takes a little longer than it used to; so, the last thing that I wanted to deal with was a blown knee or shoulder on the first day of class. Also, it’s nice that the instructors do their best to pair you up with someone of similar size. At SBG New Braunfels, they have a Fundamentals program that prepares you for the Open Mat and advanced classes. This program is AWESOME. When learning Jiu-Jitsu, you’re likely going to be hearing many terms and concepts that are new. This program allows you the time to digest all the new information and build confidence in your ability to perform the fundamental techniques before you move to the advanced classes. Most students in the advanced classes still take the fundamentals classes because they are that valuable. 2. Coaches are FANTASTIC Head Coach Michael Heinz and his team of coaches are consummate professionals. His classes have a strong positive energy; he likes to have fun. He has the unique ability to break down complex topics into easy-to-understand pieces. His lesson plans are well thought out and structured. All the coaches take pride in their work and have made a profound difference in my development. 3. You Will Learn Self Defense We all have different goals and reasons for beginning the Jiu-Jitsu journey. If your goal is to defend yourself, you will absolutely be harder to kill once you join SBG New Braunfels. 4. Access to Yoga & Mediation Classes One of my favorite aspects of SBG New Braunfels is that there is a focus on recovery. Let’s face it, you’re going to get bumps, bruises and sore muscles when you train. Having access to the yoga & meditation classes will help speed up your recovery and allow you to train more. Before I joined SBG New Braunfels I worked a corporate job for 11 years, much of that time was spent in a cubicle. I worked out from time-to-time and thought I was in decent shape. However, when I began training Jiu Jitsu, I realized that I had limited hip mobility and knee issues from years of sitting at the computer. My doctor told me that if I wouldn’t have started Jiu Jitsu, then I likely wouldn’t have noticed these issues for at least a decade, at which point they would have likely become permanent issues. Because I caught these issues early, I have been able to correct much of my mobility issues by attending the Yoga/Meditation classes combined with focused mobility & strength training exercises. The Yoga/Meditation program will not only help you in your Jiu-Jitsu development, but it will help you feel better moving in your other daily activities. Very few Jiu-Jitsu gyms have this type of program available. 5. Physical & Mental Well-Being If you show up to classes regularly, you undoubtedly are going to become physically stronger as a result of your training. You will move better, your cardio will improve, and the best part is that you’re having fun while training! An unexpected benefit for me was the mental aspect of Jiu-Jitsu. If you have a stressful job or something complex going on in your life, Jiu-Jitsu is a great outlet because it takes such focus that for that 1 – 2 hours of training you can take a mental break from whatever is on your mind. Frequently, when I go back to work after training, I think clearer and have more energy to excel at my job. Bottom-Line: You are going to have a hard time finding a gym that packs in more value than SBG New Braunfels.

We went last Thursday for a trial session for our 10 yr old son and we were very impressed :) SBG had a great energy as soon as you walk in the door. Kaylee and Michael were a pleasure to talk to, and they gave us their time to discuss the program, our thoughts, etc. Our son was so excited and happy to be there, we saw him “come out of his shell”. Kaylee and the other students did a great job of making him feel welcomed and included. We did end up signing up for classes! :) We are so excited to see our son learn so many things that are going to help him grow. Next, we are going to bring my nephews to a trial session, I have a good feeling they are going to love it as well! :) Thank you Kaylee and Michael creating just a wonderful exciting environment for these kiddos!

SBG Texas is awesome! We just moved back from another state and tried several places looking for our new jiu jitsu “home” and this place immediately felt right. The people are great, the facility is clean, both of my kids, my wife and I are happy to be a part of the SBG family.

I absolutely love coming here and felt that way ever since the trial. The atmosphere was way different than other gyms I tried. Everyone is friendly and willing to help and teach you; especially, Coach Michael. Really great team and family atmosphere and what I enjoyed most is that they teach you how to handle situations intelligently not just with brute strength.

We entered both our daughters this year. They both have loved everything about their classes. Great instructors, amazing lessons on techniques and defense. Our goal was that our girls will learn to defend themselves and learn the culture of the martial arts. We are very pleased with the results we’ve seen so far. But most importantly, our girls absolutely love it! Thank you SBG!

My husband and I just recently enrolled our two younger children in the Micro Monkey class and they love it! The instructors are great with the kids and use an approach that is understandable and fun for the kids! We shopped around at several different facilities and none of them fit the needs that this facility provides. The facility is clean and the staff is very welcoming!

SBG Texas is an incredibly welcoming gym with professional, knowledgeable, and kind staff. New members begin at a pace appropriate to their level and the coaches ensure everyone is learning through thorough demonstration and high repetitions of the movements. The general feel of each class is family-like with some humor added in but always high quality instruction. You will learn something useful every day.

I started doing the yoga program to help regain flexibility after an amputation. The quality of instruction and care the coaches give is phenomenal! After I had my prosthetic leg built, I took up jiu jitsu…and once again, the quality of instruction is amazing. The coaches are incredibly patient as we sort through the adaptations I need to make so I can achieve the desired outcome of each technique. The culture of this gym is unique, thanks to Mike & Kaylee. They are really like an extended family!

I have been a member of SBG for several months now. I can say that this gym is very personal, very professional. Michael and Kaylee are both very warm in welcoming everyone into the SBG community. They care very much about teaching high quality jiu jitsu to those that are motivated for healthy, self defense, or for tournaments. As a new student in my 40's, I am interested learning jiu jitsu, but I am interested in not injuring myself or others. I believe that the coaches hold our safety in high regard as well.

Joining SBG Texas has been the best decision we have made for our two sons and myself. They absolutely love coming to class to learn Jiu Jitsu, connect with their peers and playing games. They have acquired many life skills that have improved their behavior and listening skills at home! I also have learned a lot and look forward to the detailed instruction as well as the great workout. New Braunfels is lucky to have such a great place run by two people that have a passion for making a positive influence to the community they serve.

My Son and I walked in this afternoon, and we were super impressed. We didn't have an appointment or anything, and the two owners greeted us and toured us around the facility. I was happy to learn that the group of families involved are like a community and they all get together outside of class time to socialize. The curriculum was laid out for us and they took the time to answer my questions. I signed my son up same day because I was so impressed. He is excited to start his first class on Tuesday, and I am looking forward to him gaining life experiences while having fun. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Absolutely 100% Invests themselves in the mastery and learning with your child. We've been going for several weeks now, and the first day was not over sold. They've been on top of communicating, they promote quality core values, they pay attention to details and are proactive about instructing and getting your child to really immerse themselves into the program. I can't say enough about how engaging and professional YET also warm and inviting this gym is. Straight Blast Gym truly has been a straight blast to attend. 10 out of 10!

As a small business owner, you know quality people and services when you encounter them. I had a unique opportunity to sit with the owners of SBG ans hear more about them and their passions. I know in my heart they are people who truly care about their tribe and are intentional about teaching the best methods to help you as a person. I recently had a complimentary one-on-one session with Michael at SBG and it was mind blowing. I’ve never done any type of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu before but as a woman I have been curious about techniques to help yourself when you’re not in an ideal situation. After my first session I walked out feeling a different type of confidence as a 30 year old. Something tells me this new hobby is going to be life changing in many ways! And it will be for you too if you decide to give them a try! Thank you Michael and Kaylee for settling roots in our community. I’m honored to officially be part of your Tribe!

I am so happy my friend told me about SBG! I've wanted to get into jiujitsu for years now, and finally decided to go for it. I was a bit nervous about it, so I followed them on Instagram for a few weeks. I loved the family/community that I saw. Our daughter is so excited to start her journey and so are we!

My family and I just moved to the New Braunfels area and stumbled upon SBG by exploring. I have been interested in getting our 4yr old daughter into self defense classes, so I researched and found SBG’s Growing Gorillas program. Today, we went in for a tour and let me just say that there is nothing but greatness for our first impressions! Four hours later and our daughter is still showing us what all she learned from today from coach Kaylee and Michael. They were amazing, intuitive, professional, kind and very knowledgeable and our daughter took right to the both of them! We are very excited for her to start this journey with SBG and witness the growth and potential she possesses. We love the fact that Kaylee and Michael incorporate family interaction, play, learning, coaching and the discipline of self in various activities and ways. Needless to say, we have joined the SBG tribe and feel as though we will see great things prosper from our daughter! We highly recommend taking the time to meet with Kaylee and Michael for there are different forms of martial arts offered. This gym is very clean, well kept and laid out nicely with great amenities for everyone! They have this way about them of making you feel at ease and comfortable from speaking on the phone to entering and leaving the building. We are so thankful to become a part of this great community!!!

Let me start off by saying that staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The gym is very clean and looks really nice compared to other places that I have seen around town. The instructors have a great way of teaching and are very professional, everything that has been taught to me was explained well and was easy to understand. Im 35 years old and I was very nervous to start jujitsu and be around ppl but the instructors and everyone else in the classes make it super fun and enjoyable.

Joining SBG was so far out of my comfort zone but it didn’t take very long at all to feel comfortable with the amazing people that make up this community. I joined solely to learn some self defense but I’ve gained a community that up to this point was difficult to find in a town that we’re still fairly new to. I can’t say enough nice things about SBG. If you’re looking for a jiu jitsu gym that won’t throw you into the deep end but will instead take you through the fundamentals to help you better understand why you’re doing what you’re doing, SBG is the gym for you. You won’t find a better community and better coaches!

SBG Texas is a great family owned BJJ gym. As a new student I am grateful that Coach Michael teaches the foundations course in such a clear, concise, patient, safe, and structured manner. My wife and I greatly enjoy attending classes and highly recommend this gym.

There are a lot of things to consider when selecting a gym to train BJJ- cleanliness of the academy, culture on and and off the mats, the instructors ability to convey the information, the training partners, the curriculum, safety and injury prevention, and the list goes on and on. Since I stepped into the academy for the first time, I was warmly greeted by Kaylee and Michael and knew that SBG Texas was a great fit for me. The training is presented in a logical manner and care is taken to thoroughly explain what you are doing and why it is important. There are no inflated egos present from training partners or coaches and classes are fun and something to look forward to! BJJ in general is a wonderful pursuit, but without the right instructors and training partners it's tough to enjoy all the benefits. I can't say enough great things about my experiences with everyone involved at SBG Texas!
