Professional and friendly atmosphere where you can get an amazing workout and more. You can be in good shape but come get in "capoeira shape." It improves strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance. There isn't anything like it. If you aren't in good shape you will have a really great time getting fit. The all levels class is really inviting and Mestre Jamaika is a great teacher to help you learn the basics and advance to higher levels.

This place is awesome! Great people, Mestre Jamaika is a great instructor and Capoeira is one of the most fun martial arts out there (I’ve practiced about 5 different ones and this is awesome!)! 100% worth a try if you want to train and improve mobility with a great group. All skill levels are welcome.

Mestre Jamaika’s knowledge of capoeira and skills as a teacher are remarkable, but what makes him and Salt Lake Capoeira so special is the sense of community that they’ve created here. People have fun, learn, grow, and feel a part of the community. Kids have an outlet to exercise, belong, and have a role model to look up to. As do adults. I’m really impressed at what they’ve managed to create and foster, and of the lives they’ve touched over the many years they’ve been in business.

I first joined capoeria at 5year old with mestre jamaika. Did it for couple years them my family moved so we couldn’t go anymore ): I found capoeria again in college and trained on and off with mestre Jamaika, I’m now back officially and it’s absolutely amazing. Everyone here in this community is so welcoming, friendly, respectful and you just feel the positive energy the moment you walk through those doors. It’s so relaxing, a great workout; each class is different. I love to play the live music when I can! I use to never like instruments but when I picked up the berimbau everything changed. the kids classes are Monday Wednesday 5-6 and adults Monday Wednesday 6-730! But we like to train as long as we can and have fun!! As a community a group, as a family! Everyone is welcome.

I have about 5 years doing capoeira in Volta Miuda, Salt Lake City, Ut and it has been one of the best experience of my life. I have been training capoeira with this group now for a few years. There is NO better capoeira instruction in Utah, and likely none better in the country. On top of teaching traditional martial arts values, it teaches you the game of capoeira (a warriors game), gets you fit of mind and body, and becomes your second family. It is a wonderful community that will only benefit you. Come to class, you will love it.

This place was a life changing experience from the first day I, very hesitantly, decided to just "try it out" and I have been addicted to capoeira ever since! You have the only master of this martial art in ALL of Utah teaching here, straight from Bahia! You're not going to get the kind of knowledge and experience from an individual anywhere else in Utah, don't pass up the opportunity from a world renowned capoeira master. On top of that, this group is full of extremely talented musicians, acrobats, teachers, dancers, and many beginner students, too!
