Saiko Studio has become a true cornerstone for our family. For two years, my daughter has flourished under the exceptional guidance of Rob, whose patience, professionalism, and expertise in jiu-jitsu are truly remarkable. Her progress has been nothing short of astounding. Rob is just an outstanding coach and super knowledgeable in what he does. Inspired by my daughter's transformation, I joined fitness classes with Danny. His deep understanding of the body has even helped me overcome chronic vertigo. Now, my husband has joined the adult martial arts, completing our family's journey here. We're deeply grateful to the owner for creating such a welcoming and supportive environment where we all feel like part of the Saiko family and are empowered to achieve our fitness goals!
Great clean facility with excellent and dedicated coaches. Many classes for all ages and all skill levels. I have personally noticed great changes in my physical and mental health since training here. Saiko is the best!!!!!
My kid is learning jiu jitsu at Saiko and I can’t say enough positive things about Coach Rob and Coach Cris and the other coaches. They are friendly, engaging and caring towards the kids, while also teaching discipline and respect. My kid has improved so much in his skills and self- confidence. The facility is super clean and the equipment is well maintained. There’s also a gym at the back. I started training there with Coach Danny, so it’s a bonus to be able to work out while my kid is at class. The gym equipment is great; there’s everything you need. Danny is a great trainer who encourages you and pushes you to attain your goals. Everyone at Saiko is super knowledgeable and supportive and it’s a great family atmosphere.
It’s an amazing studio. All the masters are great and they teach real stuff that can be applied to self defense. Plus they are doing it in a fun way and know their way with kids. No nonsense as some other martial arts classes out there. My kid looks forward to every class.
My 8 year old daughter started Jiu-Jitsu at Saiko Fitness earlier this year. Since that time, she has made so much progress. Although she's always had lots of energy, we never channeled that into sports and she wasn't particularly athletic or coordinated (for example: she's always had a hard time and lack of interest in throwing/catching balls). The coaches at Saiko are fantastic and have helped bring out her inner athlete in a safe and nurturing space. What's more impressive is the confidence she's gained. She's transformed from the shy girl on the first day of class to being able to flex her leadership skills--taking the lead during group warm ups and fearlessly sparring (and occasionally winning! during organized conditioning games). I can't wait to see how she continues to grow with the sport under the care of the coaches at Saiko.
I came to Saiko to try out self defense in June 2022. I have now been a part of the community for over two years! All of the Coaches are great!! They have created a safe and friendly atmosphere here to come train. There is a great all women’s class twice a week, which is a added bonus. To have such a strong presence of women athletes at an otherwise male dominate sport. I am so grateful to have a place like this to practice the art of grappling and self defense! They have helped me take back my power💥 and find my strength. 💪 Thank you Saiko!!
This a great place to learn Jiu Jitsu. Cris and Rob are great instructors and the facility is very clean and open. If you ever had the desire to learn martial arts with fitness and strength training, without the super competitive aggressive egos of your typical gym, this is the place for you.
I’ve been training at this Charles Gracie affiliated academy since September 2023 under Rob Miyashiro and Cristiano Xavier. The gym has plenty of mat space and state of the art workout equipment which you can use before or after classes. The curriculum is very practical and integrates some wrestling & judo which I really appreciate as many BJJ gyms have poor stand-up skills. Rob and Cristiano do a great job breaking down complex techniques into simple steps so that beginners can quickly learn. The culture here is amazing, everyone goes out of their way to make you feel like a part of the family. It’s fun to roll against people of all abilities and belt levels. My BJJ has gone to a whole new level since I started training here.
Saiko Fitness and Material Arts is one of them best gyms! The spacious and clean facilities provide an ideal training environment, and the coaches, Professor Cristiano and Professor Rob, are truly exceptional. Their experience, passion, and dedication to the sport are evident in every class. It is clear that they have a genuine love for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a desire to share their knowledge with others. One aspect that I particularly appreciate about this gym is the inclusive and safe environment they have created. BJJ is often seen as a male-dominated sport, but at this gym, I never felt out of place or unsafe. Professor Cristiano and Professor Rob prioritize the well-being and comfort of all their students, regardless of gender. They foster a culture of respect and support, making it a welcoming space for everyone.
Rob is one of a kind. He is not only a professional teacher but he is also an amazing mentor for the kids. He takes pride at what he does and teachers his students to do the same. My 4 year old daughter loves Rob's classes and always looks forward to seeing him. He turns each class into a very special experience. I admire Rob for his teaching style and wish there were more teachers like Rob. His studio is always welcoming to students and it feels like a wonderful community.
I cannot speak highly enough about my experience at Saiko Fitness and Martial Arts. Incredible coaches who have truly made my journey into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) an unforgettable one. Coach Rob, Cristiano, Chia, TJ, and Daniel are nothing short of amazing. Their dedication to teaching and passion is evident in every class. They go above and beyond to ensure that every student, regardless of their skill level, feels welcome and valued. As a beginner myself, I was pleasantly surprised by how patient and encouraging they were, which made me feel at ease from day one. One of the standout features of this BJJ school is their commitment to women's self-defense. The women's only self-defense classes held every Tuesday and Thursday evening are not only empowering but also incredibly informative because you can be applied it in real-life situations. I began my journey at Saiko Fitness and Martial Arts at the beginning of 2023, and looking back, it's undoubtedly one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. The facility itself is exceptional. It's clean, spacious, and designed to facilitate an optimal learning environment. If you've ever desired to learn martial arts while combining fitness and strength training, Saiko Fitness and Martial Arts is the perfect place for you.
Great Brazilian jiu-jitsu training gym. Instructors (Rob, Christiano and others) are very good and very welcoming of and patient with brand new beginner students.
This BJJ school offers women’s only self-defense classes every T/Th evening with jujitsu moves incorporated. Coach Rob, TJ, and Daniel help the women at Saiko feel safe, confident, and empowered. The women of the group are beyond supportive of each other in building each other up and instilling a collaborative community that is hard to find anywhere. Saiko has become a strong community of healing and self-improvement that I am so grateful to be a part of. Come join us!
I started at Saiko Fitness and Martial Arts at the start of this year and it's the best decision I can remember making in a long time. Sensei Rob Miyashiro and Professor Cristiano Xavier are as encouraging as they are disciplined, and the instruction is next level. The school is a place for driven students and knowledgable coaches. I've lost 22 pounds in just over 3 months, and it's through a healthy life style change that is unlikely revert anytime soon. If you're looking for a place to train, get in shape, meet new people, and learn to defend yourself, you found it
I’m a 52 danger close to 53 year old white belt! Started at the end of 2022 on the recommendation of a friend. Went in to see what it was all about with no knowledge or preconceived ideas about Jiu Jitsu. What I found was a supportive group of great people that take the time to help everyone regardless of skill level, physical level and amount of available time to train. Super fun and a great workout and reminds me of being a kid. If you’re looking for great instruction, inspiration and an incredible group of people from all walks of life supporting one another then this is your place!
I have known and have been training with Rob for most of my adult life. Working with Rob has completely changed my life and helped me achieve things I never thought possible - three full marathons, (and all the other foot races in between), personal bests for all kinds of lifts, and now, reintroducing me to martial arts through BJJ. In just 6 months at Saiko in working with Coach Rob and Professor Cris, I have shed the pandemic weight and gotten into the the best shape of my life - physically and mentally. BJJ has helped me achieve mental clarity and sharpness that has helped me in every part of my life. If you have ever thought of trying BJJ, I cannot recommend Saiko fitness enough.
I have been training with Rob for nearly a decade, and he is a results driven individual who holds his clients accountable to their goals and helps you achieve them. Rob has helped me navigate through two pregnancies and adjust to how I now try to include fitness in a post kid and post pandemic world. Rob is able to meet their clients at their fitness level and help take them to where they want to go at a pace that's comfortable for them, while pushing them to explore their limit. When you work with Rob, know that you are getting more than just a personal trainer, he will be your coach, your friend, and your guide to helping you with your goals. Although I'm not a JiuJitsu student, I've seen the passion that Rob has for the practice. It's not just something he does on the side or because it mixes up his workouts, its a part of who he is. The mental and physical discipline that he applies to the sport, is the same in how he applies to his personal training philosophy.
I've been doing partner training with Daniel for a while now. He's a fantastic personal trainer who's really helped us build good workout habits. The gym itself is really spacious and well maintained. The staff there are all very friendly and easy to chat with.
Best school for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Judo, and strength/conditioning. Highly recommend
Charles Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by professor Cris Xavier (4th degree BJJ black belt) and coach Rob (who has black belts in BJJ and in Judo). I've been rolling with this team since 2015 (at Charles Gracie Jiu Jitsu in San Mateo), and I am ultra excited about Charles Gracie San Jose opening at this location. OSU!
Coach Chris is one of the best coaches on the planet. My kids have been training under his tutelage for over a year. Coach Chris and his team have a very unique talent for bringing out the best in every student. His training academy also works with adults that seek not only a lifetime skill in JiuJitsu but also more confidence, focus, and energy to take your business and life to the next level. Thank you Coach Chris.
