This jiu jitsu school is great! Very organized, very friendly and great for kids & adults. My 9 year old daughter loves coming to train here.

My son loves coming to this establishment. They are very organized on how they operate the kids class. The coaches are wonderful. The 30+ minute ride there is totally worth it!

Great rolls and great instructions. A variety of experience ranging from newcomers to ADCC competitors who helped me sharpen my skills. The instructors provided more hands on help than other gyms that I have been to!

I’ve been training with Ruffhouse for three and a half years and my son has been involved since he was four in the children’s classes. I have about nine total years training bjj. I’ve had memberships at four other schools in Los Angeles, Connecticut, and another school here in Columbus and this is hands down our bjj home. Having seen numerous training systems elsewhere, the pros and cons, this is my preferred place to gain skills, community, and friendships of high value. Classes run the gamut from self defense to sport/competition emphasis, early morning to later classes to suit your lifestyle, and also the kids classes are popular! I know, I coach one, it’s always growing and for good reason. Nothing feels better than watching your little one feel empowered to take care of him/herself and see that confidence grow :)

My husband has been going here for almost 2 years. He has learned an invaluable skill set and is extremely happy with Ruffhouse. It has been fun to watch him improve in the time that his been there. He is proud to tell me when he has made a new milestone. The owner is supportive and has been very kind to not only my husband but to myself as well (who is not taking classes). The instructors take the time to make sure he is comfortable with the moves, and if he needs a little extra attention they make sure he gets it. The location in Gahanna is convenient to not only our home but also to his work. We would not go anywhere else. Thanks Chris and the Ruffhouse team!

Returning to BJJ after years away and was looking for a good gym with a great atmosphere. This gym checks all the boxes! Great group to train with. Chris is very knowledgeable and creates a welcoming place for anybody to join with any level of experience.

Coach Panda (owner) is a great coach and very patient. All other coaches are great with our kids as well. They are not only learning the basics of BJJ and having fun, but also learning disciple and respect. And they love it!

I started my son here about a few weeks ago and have been seriously impressed since his first class. All of the coaches are incredible and really care about each kid and take the time with each of them to work on techniques. Couldn't recommend Ruffhouse enough!

Professor Panda is one of the best around. The class/teaching structure is excellent as it helps build muscle memory through repetition and then allows you to apply those techniques through different scenarios. Whether your looking for Jiu Jitsu, striking/mma, or just a gym to call home. This is your one stop shop.

I have been training under Panda for 6 years, he is one of the best instructors around. Extremely knowledgeable, passionate and supportive of all his students. The environment at Ruffhouse is great, everyone is helpful, considerate and motivated. So glad I found this gym!

Ruffhouse Columbus is perfect for all levels of Jiu-Jitsu, whether brand new or a lifelong grappler! Coach Larkin has created an amazing family environment, with student's that are eager to help you improve! I've known Chris for 20 years, and have watched him evolve from an enthusiastic and talented MMA/Jiu-Jitsu student & competitor, to what I consider to be the best BJJ instructor in Ohio! He's adapted those 2 decades plus of knowledge and experience into a teaching style that is "easy" to pick up on, and tailored to your specific needs as an individual. I couldn't recommend Ruffhouse and Coach "Panda" more!

Ive tried many of the gyms around town. They are all different in many ways. Ruff House and coach Panda have a team focused family atmosphere. Everyone is really nice and helpful. They understand that helping each other improve helps us grow as a team. Class times are great and there are many options for GI or nogi.

The Ruffhouse team were not only very proficient and knowledable, they were also friendly and made each class fun. Coach Larkin is a veteran of the sport and loves sharing his knowledge. He makes great sacrifice for his team and knows how to coach everyone on an individual level that they can understand. His passion and expertise make him one of a kind as a Jujutsu coach. If you want to get into Jujutsu you will not find a better group than Ruffhouse.

I had the pleasure to start learning bjj with Chris and the ruffhouse family, and had an amazing experience. Chris or the other higher belts are really good teachers and the group you will be working with is pretty amazing. Highly recommended for both first timer and experienced bjj enthusiasts who want to have a good time and learn a lot.

Ruffhouse Jiu Jitsu of Columbus upholds a standard of business which creates an unsafe training environment for women. The vitriolic behavior exhibited by leadership alienates those who hold a contrasting worldview and lifestyle which bleeds into class time. Ultimately, the culture presents as the “good ol’ boys” club under the surface. If you’re looking for an inclusive, safe training environment, go elsewhere.
