At the beginning of the year I signed up for an introductory 6 week BJJ class for beginners. I'm almost 40, completely out of shape and have never had any experience with any sports let alone martial arts. I was hesitant and very nervous to take the class. However, after attending the course I can confidently say that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The lead instructor Nick is fantastic! He's great with kids, great with his students and blends the perfect amount of humor with solid instruction. Once we started grappling and started putting our skills to the test I unfortunately got injured and missed some classes. I would recommend drinking lots of water and stretching before class. I am very eager to heal and get back to training. They make it such a fun and exciting environment to learn. Everything is very clean and all the instructors are AMAZING! This place will change your life for the better! Highly recommend!!

The instructors and participants of the classes I’ve been to have been amazing. The adult beginner and intermediate classes were very informative and taught by great and well spoken instructors. The instructors are always more than happy to help explain and fix your technique down to the small details. I definitely would definitely recommend anyone interested in bjj to give ricebros a try!

Excellent place to train for all levels. Head coach Nick Rice really cares about his students. Friendly and competitive place to get some great rolls in and learn high level Jiujitsu.

Really fun, welcoming place for beginners. Nick really connects with the kids and inspires confidence and passion. Our six year old has made great friends and this has become her favorite sport.

I started at RiceBros ever since they opened their doors. I’ve trained at many different Jiu Jitsu dojos over the last 10 years off and on, and each time deciding a place, believe me, when I say, it’s an important decision. You want to enjoy going to class to learn, compete, train, laugh, better your health, etc… Overall, being in a good environment to enjoy your time will keep you committed. Professor Nick is always hands-on when teaching class, believe it or not, some dojos don’t even have black belts teaching most of the week. #First3ever #Promoted@RiceBrosOregon
