Boo to whoever gave this place anything less than 5 stars. Josh and his team are great instructors. They encourage dedication, commitment, fun but most importantly SAFETY. My kids used to be sedentary but Josh and team have helped us turn this turn around. We love how family oriented this academy is, and how it’s taught our kids to value and respect one another. My kids would rather not vacation in order not to miss training and be with their fellow jiu (joy) jitsu mates.
What a great experience, the staff, students, facilities, and training was outstanding. All of this is a testament to the leadership of Renzo Gracie McAllen.

Renzo Gracie is an amazing!!! My three children have been training there for almost two years and they still love it so much. It’s a very clean and family friendly environment. Professor Josh is great with the kids and the other coaches as well. My kids have gained strength and confidence through their training. I couldn’t be happier!
Renzo Gracie by far is the best jiu-jitsu gym you could ever join. The coaches are amazing and knowledgeable. Professor Joshua runs such an amazing program and has a genuine want for his students to excel. He pushes the students to perform to the best of their abilities. We are coming on 15 months being at Renzo and have met so many other parents (who we consider family now) who tried out other gyms and were blown away at what great instruction takes place at Renzo. The atmosphere is top notch. We are united and one big family that support one another. If you want results and to become skilled there really is no reason to shop around. Renzo is the place to be. Joining Renzo was one of the GREATEST decisions we've ever made for our family. 🙏🦁💖
I called and messaged 5 different BJJ gyms and Renzo Gracie was the only one that kept communicating back to me. As a visitor, this facility has everything you need, clean restrooms, clean mats, BBJ equipment on hand, and highly skilled instructors. I would highly recommend Renzo Gracie Facility to train from beginners to masters and become a part of an amazing lineage.

My daughter has been here a yr and let me tell you it has the best year of her life. She has learned so much. The atmosphere here is family. The professors (Josh and Felipe ) are phenomenal, and they have a wonder set of coaches. I am beyond happy that my daughter found something she loves. That's cause she is a cheerleader and in cross country and track, but jiu-jitsu is her favorite. I totally recommend this gym 100% .
I was in town for a little while and wanted to train while here. I talked to Erik on the phone and he was courteous and professional, explaining the class times and answering any questions I had.
The gym offered a range of morning, noon, and evening classes. I was able to get in a few gi and nogi classes in the evening. The facility was spacious and the mats were new and clean. The professors and students were all very warm and welcoming. The instruction was detailed and clear and the professors were knowledgeable and kept a friendly and cheerful demeanor, which helped me feel right at home. The students were friendly and helpful during drilling and sparring and always stayed controlled.
I had a great time while I was there and highly recommend stopping in if you're looking for a place to train or if you're just in town for a visit.

My son has been attending for 2 years, coaches are phenomenal and have a great bond with the kids. It has helped my son tremendously with his social skills and discipline.
I was visiting from out of town for Christmas. They had a great schedule even with the holiday that allowed for me to fit training in.
I decided to attend the 6am wit professor Alex. He was very knowledgeable and a great teacher. The whole 6 am crew was awesome. They were welcoming, trained hard, but were not trying to hurt each other. I learned so much in that short amount of time and it is thanks to all of you.
The facility was extremely clean and huge. there was plenty of space to train.
I would definitely recommend this academy for anyone in the area to train.

I got to visit while in town for work and felt welcomed and safe. They were kind enough to allow me to drop in - thank you! The black belts and owner, Josh and Felipe, were very professional and freely shared their knowledge. I learned a lot in a short period. Hope to see them again soon!

My 3 oldest kids (ages 6, 8, 9) and I have been coming to Gracie Barra McAllen for the past three weeks. Let me just say, it is hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had with my kids.
Professor Joshua is patient and firm with the kids. They learn to respect each other and have a great time learning from one another. Every time my kids get home after training, I always hear “dad, did you see me do an arm bar?!” It’s so awesome to see how excited they get about BJJ.
As for my own training experience, everyone I’ve trained with at this academy has been incredibly helpful. Professor Joshua is always willing to break down the technique as many times as I need. It’s a very positive and uplifting training environment and everyone is there to learn. I’m really glad my family found this place.
Gracie Barra McAllen is amazing. I was in McAllen for two months for work and needed a place to train. I am fairly new to Jiu Jitsu and train at a Gracie gym in California. No affiliation to Gracie Barra. Gracie Barra allowed me to train at their gym and treated me like one of their own. I absolutely would recommend this gym to anyone. It’s a respectful open environment with people who truly want to help others on their Jiu Jitsu journey. If I could I’d take this place home with me. Big thanks to Professor Josh and all the instructors who taught me many new techniques.
This is a sensational Brazilian jiu jitsu and martial arts school. They have a great structure and programs for kids and adults. The instructors and the main professor Josh are all amazing teachers and very knowledgeable and explain and breakdown the techniques in a great way to learn. The facility is very nice, very clean, and is a huge mat space for training. I would highly recommend this school if your interested in learning jiu jitsu for yourself or your children.
We were so happy with our experience at Gracie Barra McAllen. We signed up for a few private sessions for our company staff but when we finished, everyone wanted to continue learning more and take additional classes. Instructors are very experienced and caring. It is obvious that they are passionate about helping people succeed. They went above and beyond to educate, empower, and inspire us.

Gracie Barra McAllen is a great place to learn jujitsu, not exactly knowing what was jiu Jitsu, we had decided to enroll our little one. Had to say, it was a great decision we had made. They were really patient and very straight forward. If I

My kids train at Gracie Barra pearland/Houston area. We were in McAllen visiting family and the kids wanted to train in McAllen. We notified this location by email and they were so welcoming and said of course come on over. The day we get there Professor Joshua was so welcoming and my kids felt happy to train here. This facility is clean and his wife is really nice. I highly recommend this place due to its professors patience in teaching , cleanliness, professionalism, and huge area to roll. They offer training almost everyday for kids and offer one week free to try it out. Most places only offer one day.
GB Mcallen is a wonderful place to train. The students are tough and technical just like professor Josh. GB Mcallen has a great curriculum as well as great instruction. I have been training @ GB Mcallen for 18 months and enjoy training here. This is my jiujitsu family. Oss!
He has been very good with my son. All instructors are very professional with both the kids and parents. My son has really progressed since day 1. Also great when it is time to discipline the kids. Always fair. My son looks forward to his daily class.

Coaches teach age appropriate material in a FUN environment. Coaches and staff are kind and encouraging, yet challenge each student to do and be their best during practice and at home! The gym is always clean and welcoming! We are so grateful for this sport, gym, and coaches at Gracie Barra McAllen.
I was invited by a friend to come along to a bjj class and decided to give it a try. As a middle aged guy that had no prior martial arts experience, I was totally blown away with the great welcoming atmosphere. I found everyone from all skill levels to be very friendly and helpful. Everyone there wants you to succeed. I really like how Gracie Barra has their classes structured. Josh is a great teacher with a ton of knowledge to share. I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to meet and roll with some wonderful people. I’m totally hooked and will be back! Thank you!
I came to Mcallen for a month due to work and had the opportunity to train at Gracie Barra. Gracie Barra has a welcoming and positive atmosphere that accommodates any jiu jitsu student. Professor will give you the direction and the support you need. The instructions are very clear and the coaches are always able to ensure all students understand concepts, regardless of experience level. Met a lot of great people and they made me feel very welcomed. Thank you professor for the great opportunity, looking forward to come back to Mcallen and train a with you guys again!

Professor Josh and Professor Danny have spent over a decade each mastering the craft. Their attention to details on how to properly execute the movements is one of the reasons I continue to attend class. Great professors, great team, and a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend
My child absolutely love this place. Coaches are very engaging, patient, and dedicated. I also like the fact that coaches constantly challenge kiddos with different exercises which makes training fun and intriguing. The facility is spacious, comfortable, and clean. I would highly recommend this place for parents looking for individualized services for special needs children.
My son started taking classes here last September at the age of 3 to help focus his energy. He is still going and loving it. He learns a lot of great bjj fundamentals and runs off his extra energy.
Dropped in for an evening class. Professor Josh and Professor Daniel were very welcoming and immediately made me feel right at home. The guys at the gym were tough and obviously well coached. The gym was spacious, well equipped and very clean. I would highly recommend the school to anyone in McAllen, TX looking to get good at Jiu Jitsu.

🖕🖕The place looks great, but me and my wife we got a bad experience with one of the martial art teacher or a punk grown up student thinking he was all that and a bag of chips. We go inside and told him about the pay or contract for my 6 years old son, instead he answer my question, he became mad cause my son step little bit on the edge of the plastic matress (which at the end everybody step on it!) But he was mad with my son, and told him to step off, and respect the matress.
We leave and never come back, my son is now doing some karate.
This business lose 2 costumers, my son and daughter.
At the end theres not problem to respect their rules, but theres also ways to speak to people, especially a 6 yr old kid.
