The fundamentals class is great if you’re just wanting to learn the basics of Jui-Jutsu. They’re always willing to answer any questions. They have some very skilled competitors, as well. The greatest part is, it’s always fun - good times every time you step through the door.

Hands down best gym in Ocala. Jeremy is the man. He’s super patient with beginners, and takes the time to explain everything and tells you everything you are doing wrong in certain drills to better your technique. Leaving your old academy due to a move is painful. You're leaving your training partners, your friends, your tried-and-true methods of learning and the developed familiarity which has enabled you to progress into the jiu jitsu practitioner you are today. Finding a new academy is harder still. Thankfully I stumbled across The Burdhouse. In something of a desperate situation, I managed to locate Jeremy Burd's jiu jitsu academy. And I thank God I did. The coaching here is top-level, the practitioners are humble students, everyone's nails are cut short, and there's no hubris or malevolence being dealt on the mats. Also, their schedule is varying! A huuuge plus! Some folks cannot make it to the night classes--having an early morning class is the ONLY way jiu jitsu happens for some of us. Both Jeremy and Eric are masters of their craft and my jiu jitsu has already grown just in the few classes I've attended. I cannot more highly recommend The Burdhouse. If you're looking for a place to roll and develop in your BJJ skills, this is the place to be!

Great people , Great Attitude , Great Atmosphere, I was in town for work last week and had some time , I messaged Jeremy Burd prior that day , he promptly responded and welcomed me to come cross train while in town . He went over the technique in detail and with great patience and then we drilled several times and before end of the the night we were able to get some good rolls in . I have my 12 year old very timid son enrolled. This is a family owned and operated center. The owner/coaches/staff all are very supportive and encouraging. They are learning real world application. My son has tried other martial art centers and he was never very interested. Here is interested and enjoying his lessons. He is slowly becoming more open and assertive. This is the place where the bees get their knees in the quote, “the bees knees!” This is the place where the three little monkeys can jump and roll around and then go home and sleep on those damn beds because they exhausted all their energy at jiu jitsu! Simply put this place is excellent, the people, the training, the instructors, the overall experience. Get there, get better, train hard!

When this place started two years ago in a garage, it had a plan for more than just coming in, bowing to the mats, and shrimping for 30 minutes. The plan was to teach not only the fundamentals and advanced techniques of jiu jitsu, but to teach us all how to get there with wrestling as well, but most importantly, the plan was to create the toughest environment for competitive training available while maintaining an environment and culture that brings us all together towards this common goal that is incremental improvement in both our lives in and off the mat. The best people I've met has been through this sport/art/fight and the life it's given me has been well worth the struggle and persistence. If you're thinking about this, you should definitely come out with us, because we all love the process and sharing it with everyone that wants to learn.

So many good things to say about PSF Ocala. Firstly, the training is top notch and unlike any you'll find anywhere else in Central Florida. The location is conveniently in the middle of Ocala, and the class schedule accommodates any work/school schedules for students. The atmosphere and training environment is welcoming, but can be intense and take you to the next level if you're comfortable and confident. Give it a try.

I was nervous about letting my granddaughter start Jiujitsu, but she really loves it and everything is super clean and safe. Jeremy and all the coaches are very patient with the kids and the kids really enjoy it.

Finally found my home with the burdhouse the level of talent coming in every day is second to none and everyone new or experienced is treated like family. If you are new to jiu Jitsu come check this place out Jeremy and Erik are such good instructors and people. If your experienced come join the family I guarantee you your jiu Jitsu will improve.

Our niece is really enjoying learning the finer points of self-defense here. Her parents say there is always good teacher-student ratio and the instructors really seem to pay attention to each child. Hygiene Is enforced here, so the mats are pretty clean; some of the coaches don’t clean their feet prior to walking on the mat, however, but the kids all do.
