PMA has had such a huge positive impact on not only my kids, but my whole family! Not only are my kids learning self-defense, but they are learning important traits of good character throughout their training. When my daughter started just over a year ago, she was so nervous and quiet. Today, she competed in front of a crowd in multiple different divisions of an in-house tournament! Master Travis, Mrs. Sarah, Mr. Andrew, Mr. Ethan, and of course Mrs. Crystal are an amazing team who have created an atmosphere of support and encouragement for kids to meet their full potential. Last year my husband and I pulled our son from school sports due to a negative atmosphere. He did Taekwondo before we moved to DE 8 years ago and decided to find something in that arena to help him regain his confidence. Premier has been the perfect place for him. Last weekend he competed with the demo team and individually at Ocean State Nationals in RI. To see him regain his confidence since starting at PMA has been a blessing. Everyone is so supportive and you can tell they truly care about the kids. Huge shoutout to Mrs. Crystal. She is always so helpful and her dedication to PMA and the kids is more than evident.

Hey, we've been members since 2018. We've been through a lot, like a move, a remodel, and even a change in ownership. But one thing that's always stayed the same is Premier Dover. They've always been consistent with their training, and they're always professional and kind. The place is huge and welcoming, and Ms. Crystal is an amazing GM. She's really made it into one of the best martial arts schools in the state, maybe even the world. All the students are hard workers and really respectful. I wouldn't think twice about signing up my kid or even my grandchild here. The adult classes will make you sweat and teach you some really useful self-defense moves. I've seen kids grow up into these hardworking adults, and I've seen shy, timid adults become strong and confident. But the best part is watching the kid who used to trip over their own shadow turn into a graceful martial artist. It's really a place for the whole family. You should check it out. It might be just the thing to get you and your family moving.

We love PMA! We love it so much, that the whole family of 5 is doing it, and we recently made the decision of getting the lifetime membership. We moved to Delaware summer 2023, and for a long time my husband and I have talked about getting the kids (3 boys) to do some sort of self-defense classes. After some research, we decided to give PMA a try (August 2023), and we now pretty much live there. When you are a military family, you don’t have much saying on where and when to go, and even though our family and friends are far, we have found a new family at PMA. At the beginning we had a lot of concerns, considering our kids had diagnosis of some sort, and one of them has been through multiple head surgeries. Not only did I hear of how this could benefit them, we have seen the improvement; enhanced motor skills, more balance, and overall more confidence on daily routine. I love the fact that the whole family gets to do it, regardless of the different schedules (due to the different ages). My boys have made friends and they have been able to celebrate their birthdays there too, and they have loved every minute of it. Prior to PMA, I (the mom) had no knowledge of martial arts, but during these past few months I have realized that even the adults have a lot to learn, and to some (my case) it’s more than self-defense. If discipline is something you would want your kids to learn, the ability to defend themselves when no other mean is available, and if you don’t want to feel out of place when doing all of this, then PMA is for you!

My son has been a member since 2020! My son Dairieon loves being there and is on his way to getting his first degree Black Belt in June of 2024! He has learned to more independent, disciplined himself and dedicated to learning the forms, combos, and weapons. I am a committed parent on the Sidekicks Team and we love what we do! PMA is a great place for children learning to be part of a team and dedicated in learning self defense and life skills. He is also in the leadership class. Premier Martial Arts is the best place I have found for working out. The atmosphere is welcoming and it just feels like home. I have been doing krushbox for the past five weeks and I feel better than I ever have. I feel stronger and more confident. The trainers are incredible (Sarah, Ashley, Boskey, and Mr. Garcia are the ones I've worked with the most)! They're kind, meet you where you are, and know when to push you. Staff was kind and helpful. I was able to learn the basics of kickboxing within 6 weeks. I would’ve loved to have also taken the Krav Maga classes but unfortunately they are 40 minutes from where I live. Great experience within my 6 weeks with them.

I am a fitness instructor, so when it comes to being able to defend yourself, one would think “Strength” and “Endurance” would be all that you may need... NOT the case at all. I attended their free Women’s Self defense class on Saturday April 13th and I am beyond grateful that I did! After being there for an hour and being taught by a very professional and informative instructor(accompanied by two other wonderful young ladies who were amazing), I left feeling confident , POWERFUL and even stronger! What they taught me in just that hour alone, may save my life, if needed. It was a great experience and I will be coming back for more!

Signed up my kid for intro classes, they seem top of the line which they might be however when it came time to sign up for the weekly classes I found out there was a yearly contract that you had to pay to get out of if your kid decides they want to try something else. Prices seemed a little much but they told me upfront about the prices gave me flyers of their different price packages but no where was there anything about a contact. I was shocked to hear they did this for karate and felt like it was a bit of a sales man pitch to pressure people into signing up, after the intro sitting there was my kid who did two lessons (the into) now expecting to go every week and I had to tell her no I'm sorry it wasn't going to work out. Making me feel like I let her down. The more I thought about it the more it upset me. I'd rather find a mom and pop family karate studio then some big chain from now on. Go to Kaizen

My child attended Premier Martial Arts in Dover before Covid occurred and restarted again in Feb. 2022. With that said the new owners and instructors took over about that time. Although my child has a hard time focusing, I thought this would be a good program. My child has previously enjoyed the classes under Mr. Garcia and I expected a similar experience with Travis and the new owner/management, even though I questioned some of the fee changes that occurred after they took over. Although the more experienced instructors were no longer there, Chris appeared to be doing a good job and was a positive influence to start off. It wasn't long before my child's natural hard headedness became an issue. Chris was unable to find a strategy that would motivate my child (more experienced instructors previously found ways to motivate my child). There were several times we discussed quitting early on because what appeared to be the ineffective instruction, but chose to stick it out because of the comradery my child was building with the other participants. Fast forward to today, belt testing has always focused on completing positive character/values worksheets and having teachers and parents approve the children's behavior in order to belt test. Although, my child did not test for two previous opportunities for which they were completely qualified to test for the next belt, not completing one of the character papers this time and was sufficient to deny them opportunity to test for the same belt they were previously qualified to test for. In all honesty, my child has had the best past three to five months ever at the premier. One thing that really bothers me, is after my child didn't test three months ago, Chris offered to test during a private lesson. (So it is known, you pay to test for each belt level now and also pay for private lessons. ) With all of that said, at this point, I've paid several hundred dollars to belt test and with meeting the requirements to test two previous times and not testing, to be denied testing this time felt hurtful and was my final straw with Chris, Travis and Premier MA Dover. And before anyone says your child didn't meet the requirements and shouldn't have tested, the requirements were the same for the previous two tests and they met the requirements to test for the same belt as this time. Clearly there was some miscommunication between me, my child and Premier of which Travis agreed was not communicated properly. It appears more like the focus is on money and not the true development of values and character as described. I'm sure others will have different experiences, and I don't doubt other will continue to excel, but if your child isn't easily motivated, you may have significant trouble here.

Communication was awful! Got random texts from them because my son was interested. I tried to set up a time for him to go in; however, the girl that kept texting continued multiple times to offer days and times that I specifically said we were not available. Whoever it was texting me clearly didn't read my messages and just sent out generic garbage. Today, I got another text from them saying they want to send a gift and wanted me to confirm my address. The biggest problem other than the fact that it seemed extremely unprofessional was that they provided me with someone else's address in the text message.
