My daughter and I come here for their Monday and Wednesday evening classes since they start at the same time. This Academy has really talented practitioners that train here and it’s taught by a very knowledgeable professor. I have been grappling on and off for my entire life and I have learned more here than I ever have due to the knowledge and support of this team. Again, great teachers, great atmosphere, and overall a great academy, I highly recommend!
Posted 1 year agoExperienced and knowledgeable instructors, lots of class options, great for adults and kids! Welcoming environment. Kids love going to their classes. It is nice to be able to watch them while they are in class.
Amazing,I love this place, they are all like family
Took our kids here after trying 2 or 3 other local gyms. This one was the one. A nice mix of classes, kids, and skill levels. It been really awesome watching our kids progress, learns, and make friends here. Its a safe gym, with lots to offer the whole family.
Easy to communicate with and understand, reasonably flexible in scheduling and a fun adaptive session.
Great atmosphere, everyone is willing to help, and they’re not going to toss you around like a practice dummy, everyone there is cool, and you learn every time you go
Excellent. THE place to learn martial arts! Professional and experienced staff.
Clean, safe, professional and affordable. Friendly too.
Great family oriented martial arts school. Sterile and safe.
Top notch facility and top-notch instructors! Mr. Ed Powers is extremely knowledgeable in karate and jiu-jitsu! You are going to find a family atmosphere along with welcoming students for beginners to advanced! You will be glad that you stopped in!
I’m almost 40, zero martial arts experience, and I was just looking for a more entertaining way to get in shape because I was bored of lifting weights. Been going here a month, already lost 8 lbs, and I’m having more fun working out than I ever have before. Some serious jiujitsu practitioners here, but even for a newbie like me they’re welcoming, friendly, and extremely helpful/patient. Highly recommended.
Friendly people, great for all the family. Our son has been there for years and he still enjoys it and he is still learning.
We are proud to be part of this dojo! We have been here for almost ten years and we enjoy it every day. The instructors are amazing, and so are all the students. Family friendly atmosphere, makes you feel welcomed every time. Kids develop new and strong friendships that they will treasure for ever! Best in the area!
Excellent place to learn bjj with top notch instructors, and a student base that is very helpful and patient
I'm in my late 40's and have been training in some form of martial arts for most of my life. I started at Powers' BJJ program almost 6 years ago and will be a student there for the rest of my life. Ed and the other instructors are top notch, giving honest, thoughtful instruction, advice, and direction. Ed is extremely knowledgeable and has an eye for helping students discover their own style. The culture is family oriented and welcoming and I feel I've made many lifelong friends. If you are thinking of trying it out - you should! Ed has put some things in place to help beginners get right into it without feeling intimidated. I couldn't be happier with my choice to start training at Powers!
Dedicated instructors. Willing to go the extra mile to work with everyone . Very knowledgeable
Ed powers is an excellent instructor and he is great with the kids. My son trains there and his confidence is great and he looks forward to each session. All of the instructors as well as the members have been great. Someone there is always willing to be of assistance to him.
I’ve been training here for over a decade. Started as a kid and I’ve stayed with it. I’ve gotten friends and family into it as well. Excellent place to train for kids and adults.
I teaches alot of self defense moves
Solid instruction, family atmosphere, good people. Will miss training with these guys!
Great Jiu Jitsu program for kids. We recently move to Ohio. My son studied Taekwondo for years and a little Jiu Jitsu. He wanted to further his Martial Art skills and was interested in Jiu Jitsu full time. From day 1, it's been hands on floor time which he's been wanting. The instructors are great and they provide easy step by step instructions for entry level. My son is proud to be part of the Powers Jiu Jitsu program. Thank you
Great friendly gym. Rates are affordable and the culture is warm and inclusive.
Top notch Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program for adults and kids! Beginning BJJ was one of the best decisions I've ever made - so glad I chose Powers.
If I could go zero, I would. Protect you child's health and safety. Plus, much favoritism as well.
