Great gym. Was a member previously when Paraestra which was a welcoming well established gym. The new team have taken it on and built upon what we had to further establish a great place to train. Welcoming and beginner friendly catering for all levels. A range of coaches through the week each offering an extensive range of knolage. Also a fantastic kids program. Active weekly timetable and great pricing and membership options. Defo recommend.

I went there for a nogi lunchtime class. There was a little warm up, nothing too epic lol. Then we learnt a few techniques and had some light sparring/rolling. Great fun. Ppl were polite and kind. Being a bigger women i always struggle to find training partners, but I felt at home and comfortable, they have facilities to change etc. Definitely going back soon.
Paraestra has the two most important things you need in a BJJ Academy - structured, meticulous technical instruction and a room full of great training parters. I dropped in and the guys couldn't have made me feel more welcome. On top of that the space is big and clean. I left wishing I could train there a lot more. Head coach Pete really knows his stuff and has a great teaching style: calm, patient and without ego. Massively recommended!
I visited Paraestra Poole yesterday for a ju-jitsu event with my family. Great atmosphere at the event. Super attentive staff.
Posted 1 year agoA fantastic welcoming, and professional club, recently started my BJJ Gi journey again after a 14 year break from any martial arts, I was nervous about getting back into the sport at 44. I was made to feel welcome instantly when I arrived at my first group session. 7 months down the line and I feel part of the community that the team have built. Keep up the amazing work.
Posted 2 years agoExtremely great club and friendly members, everyone is there to help each other out in learning the art of BJJ/Jujitsu. Pete and merve are a great team and always go the extra mile to help everyone out! The beginners courses in Gi and No-Gi are great once you start there is no turning back highly recommend!
Absolutely fantastic place to train Jiu Jitsu. Very knowledgeable and patient instructors make Paraestra Poole ideal for experienced grapplers or people new to the sport. All the students are really friendly and help each other, no matter the level of experience. There’s very much a chilled family vibe from everyone. Great timetable with classes in the evenings and lunchtime makes this gym really accessible.
Posted 3 years agoStarted off my BJJ journey here and couldn't recommend highly enough. Great sessions for all abilities. Very welcoming, very humble and very enjoyable. Quality instructors and a really good atmosphere.
