  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Having trained in grappling for over 20 years across multiple disciplines, I've experienced a wide variety of clubs, coaches and training environments. That experience has given me a good appreciation of what separates a good club from a great one, and Origin JitzJudo is firmly in the latter category. As an ageing athlete, I'm always looking to continue developing my own game while training in an environment that's welcoming, technical and well structured. The coaching is first class, the instruction is clear and informative, and every session is run professionally. Whether you're an experienced competitor or stepping onto the mats for the first time, everyone is made to feel welcome. What really sets Origin JitzJudo apart is the quality and breadth of the coaching. With instructors holding black belts in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, the integration of the two arts feels completely seamless. After all, BJJ evolved from Judo, and understanding how to blend powerful takedowns, grip fighting, balance and control with modern Gi and No Gi Jiu Jitsu creates a far more complete grappler. Rather than treating them as separate disciplines, the coaches show how they naturally complement one another both in training and competition. It's also reassuring to know the club has its roots in the long established Northampton Judo Club, which has been developing Judoka in Northampton since 1982. That heritage is evident in both the standard of coaching and the culture on the mats. One of the reasons I joined was because I wanted my children to complement their existing BJJ training with high quality Judo. The improvement in their stand up, takedowns and overall confidence has been obvious already, and it's been great to train alongside them while continuing to develop my own game. If you're looking for a club that genuinely understands grappling as a whole, rather than viewing Judo and BJJ in isolation, I can't recommend Origin JitzJudo highly enough.
