Dropped in for open mat while traveling through. Professor Evan and the team were a fantastic group. Everyone was super welcoming, and I got to chat with a few folks, which I really appreciated. The rolls were respectful, and I enjoyed the focused training vibe throughout the room. Everyone I rolled with kept it challenging but controlled. Got invited to come back, and I definitely will on my next trip through.

We love this studio!!! We searched multiple studios before deciding that this was the place for our son, Cody. We have been here for one year now and we love the attention that each student receives from their coaches. All the coaches are amazing and they are so great with the kids. You have to come and see for yourselves. You and your kids will love them!

Such a great place to train! All of the coaches and staff are friendly, patient and welcoming. There is a very positive and supportive atmosphere at this school to help you achieve your goals of why you started jiu jitsu. The passion Professor Troy has for jiu jitsu really shows!

I have zero wrestling or BJJ background and someone invited me to a class. I’ve spent the last 5 months with a great group of people. Coaches and members are top notch. I got out of the military and was looking for a group of people to push me towards excellence & if that’s what you’re looking for, go no further. Gym is clean and a good environment. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking to get into the sport. Once again, I can’t stress enough, great people.

Ladies!! If you’re thinking about joining a jiu jitsu gym- this is the place to do it! I’ve been coming here for about 2.5 years now and I’ve never felt more included in a place. This gym has totally changed my life. The coaches are incredible and make you feel super comfortable to train. In addition, there is a women’s class taught by an amazing black belt woman. I love OC Carlson not only because they’ve pushed me to be better physically and mentally..but I feel apart of a family here!

I’ve been training at OC Carlson Gracie for over 25 years, and can’t recommend it enough! It is my home away from home. Troy, Evan and Ethan are incredibly skilled at teaching “the gentle art”. They break down every technique so thoroughly that it is impossible not to improve. They are patient and dedicated to helping everyone. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. The people are great! One big happy family that you enjoy fighting with. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome! Troy, Evan and Lovey are great guys and great teachers. They’ve built an amazing atmosphere from the top down. They care about you and they care about being great teachers. Both my boys also go there as well and they’ve been treated with care, guidance and respect. As soon as they walk through the door, they get shown love. They create a family atmosphere, welcome everyone that comes through the door, and make you feel great while training. It’s a tough sport and would be a lot tougher without the coaches. Of course, they’re incredible Jiujitsu instructors too! These days you can find “Jiujitsu” On every corner, but you won’t find anything like OC Carlson Gracie.

It’s a family run gym and a family oriented team. Coolest and toughest training partners around all genders. Carlson Gracie OC prioritizes efficiency in the sport of jiu jitsu and the results in competition speak for themselves. Ranking system is very traditional. Would definitely stop by for a free class if you’re looking to learn from some real studs.

I enrolled my son at OC Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy seven years ago just after his 9th birthday. Thanks to the very fine tutelage of Professor Troy and his sons, Evan and Lovey, seven years later my (now) 16 year old son continues to train and compete in Jiu Jitsu tournaments and wrestles varsity at Villa Park High School. OC Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy is operated by a loving and committed family of fierce competitors. I am forever grateful to Professor Troy, Evan and Lovey for their continued positive influence in my son's life. OC Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy is simply the best!!

This is a great gym with awesome coaches and a group of students that makes learning fun, educational, and competitive. My 11 year old daughter and I(45) have been coming here for a few years and it has been a truly enjoyable experience to become a part of this BJJ family.

I was visiting from out of town and asked Professor Troy if I could train with him during my stay in Orange County. He said I could, and he and the rest of the team treated me like family. I highly recommend anyone who is on the fence about starting training or is visiting from out of town like I was or is simply looking for a great school to train at, to train here under Professor Troy. You won't regret it. Thank you again for everything, Professor. I'll definitely be coming back to visit next time I'm in town.

I highly recommend training here. The instructors are fantastic and the culture on the mat was warm and welcoming. I stopped in to train while I was in town and learned so much because of the attention to detail. Even though I was a visitor, they treated me as if I’d been training there regularly. I have trained as a martial artist for the past 45 plus years and as of this writing 13 months at OC Carlson Gracie. As an aging athlete the movements and demands of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are invigorating, challenging, and promote not only a healthy body but exceptional self defense skills. The learning environment, the skill level of the instructors and students alike, and the desire of staff for every student to excel is extraordinary. You will learn to move in a way that is very difficult to replicate, in a way that will definitely enhance your life and martial arts career. It certainly has mine. My son now practices at OC Carlson Gracie and as soon as my grandchildren are old enough I'll be training with them too. Coach Troy and his son's Evan and Ethan run a very very worthwhile program, I can't imagine a more sound, fun, and practical place to train. Don Hall

Stopped by today to train at the 10am class. Visiting from out of town and this gym is 3 miles from where I’m staying. Had a great time training here today. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Prof Troy is a class act and it shows in his students. His son Evan gave excellent instruction. I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in town.

The best place to train your kids in bjj and also respect. The instructors are very good and respectful. Been around this gym for over 10 years and it to me the best place to train or to train your kids for self defense. I had my two older sons train here 7 years ago and now I’m back here again with my 7 year. Glad that I’m back!!💯💯💯
