This gym is something special. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with genuine warmth—even as a visitor from another school. The open mats are consistently filled with enthusiastic, experienced people who make every round worth it. Troy and his crew of coaches are the real deal—authentic, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. Easily one of the best Jiujitsu schools in Colorado. If you’re looking to learn, grow, and train with good people, this is the place.

Nove Mente is always a good time. Very efficient in their instructions and always has a good vibe. What I like most about this gym is that it is always clean and organized. The staff is amazing as well.

Top notch gym/Jiu Jitsu class for kids! Especially for 3yr+ I have a strong willed 3 year old who has sensory issues, enough energy to run a power grid and struggles with routine. The coaches are so kind and patient and have worked with my kid at her pace and have allowed me to work in her accommodations ❤️ There has already been such a huge impact on her confidence, her social skills, and learning new things from new adults. The facility is great, the vibe is immaculate, family friendly. My husband also trains here and it's just a great place.

I've been a member for over 5 years, a Nova blue belt nowadays, and it has been incredible. There was an owner change in in 2020 when Dylan moved out of state and Troy took over as head coach and owner and I honestly cannot see myself making any other gym my home. For beginners and the like, the coaches and team are super friendly, incredibly helpful, and just all-around good people. You don't have to worry about being thrown into a pit of wolves or needing some kind of pre-training or even the need to be "fit" or athletic. From say one, you'll be guided through a welcoming process that will have you feeling better physically (and mentally) while making noticeable strides into a martial art regardless of your background. For experienced practitioners, Troy is a legit blackbelt with not only loads of pro and amateur competition matches, but is well known and respected among the greater jiu jitsu community. He's liked among his Denver peers and calls some of the biggest names in jiu-jitsu his friends (just see the folks he's brought to do seminars over the last few years). This is the perfect gym to step back in or make your new BJJ home. Overall, I feel super lucky to have found Nova as my starting gym and I honestly feel nothing but empathy and sorrow for the folks who've had bad experiences at other BJJ gyms. This one is leagues above the rest in most every area you can rank a jiu jitsu gym. You should try it, you won't regret it.

I have been to countless open mats at nova. Not only is Troy an amazing person yet the team around him is as well. Going into a gym and being able to roll while feeling safe with everyone is rare! From light weight to heavy weight I have always felt safe while learning my weaknesses. The hospitality does not stop when you leave their doors either. When I go to competitions there is nothing but love from the entire nova menta team! I HIGHLY recommend checking this gym out in your are even a little bit interested in bjj. If you are going to another gym in the area their open mat is at least hitting up to have a good time with some great people 🤜🏻🤛🏼
I've visited this place a few times, and I must say, the trainers here are incredibly friendly and supportive. Starting at a new jiu-jitsu gym can be daunting, but the staff and fellow attendees really make it welcoming. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or a first-timer, you're bound to have a great time here. Troy and his wife, Bri, are particularly awesome. Highly recommended
I own a different Jiu Jitsu academy on the other side of town but I wanted to talk about one of my favorite places to train when I’m not at my home gym. The coaches at Nova Mente are amazing and they provide an amazing experience for all members! Their kids program is top notch and they really have what it takes to get your child from a beginner level to a kid who can keep themselves and others very safe! Their passion for teaching your kids one of the most powerful tools ever really shines through! The facility is one of the best in Colorado on top of all of that! As a BJJ gym owner I would wholeheartedly recommend them to any child or adult who live in the area if they asked me for a recommendation on a local gym!

I enjoy taking classes at Nova Mente in Colorado. Troy makes me feel right at home and understands my expectations to grow in the art and progress as I work through their curriculum. The academy offers me jiujitsu classes in both gi and no gi. The guys that I've rolled with thus far have been nothing but a great bunch. Grappling is something that I've come to love and helps me in a variety of ways mentally, physically, and emotionally. I'm hoping to make Nova Mente my academy of choice as I work to progress my game. I highly recommend this gym to those that are seeking a new home to learn the art of grappling and MMA.
We absolutely love nova mente. They have been outstanding with our 6 year old daughter. They don’t just teach self defense but also honesty and reliability and healthy live style habits. Pricing is very reasonable and classes are every evening at a very convenient time. I would recommend Nova Mente to any parents looking for a good self defense class that goes above and beyond.

Nova Mente is a second home to my family, if you are new to Nova you will immediately know you can call this your home and the training is outstanding. My son and husband trained Jujitsu, along with my son having one on one training in wrestling, my son made the Varsity team his freshman year, mind you he never had Wrestling experience before he started training at nova. I signed up for personal weight training and I have never felt better about myself. I 100% recommend Nova Mente Academy!! Love the staff and the members.
This gym literally saved my life. Troy and all the coaches at Nova Mente really care about the people that walk through their doors. Like to the core care. They care about who you are, who you want to be and who they can help you become. The whole teams willingness to teach and learn from one another is something I have never found in any other place. I would recommend jiu jitsu to every person I meet and if able Nova Mente would top that list as the place to learn. I can’t say enough about this place or Troy Everett. 100% recommend.
I was out in Colorado for about a year and got the pleasure to train here. It was an incredible experience. This is by far my favorite gym I've ever trained at. Coach Troy and Cam really are true leaders. They present information in the most easily digestible way. Nova was also the best support system both in and out of the gym. Made some lifelong friends there and can't wait to share the mats with these guys again. If you are thinking about training this is the perfect place to start. If you're a seasoned veteran, this is a great place to grow!

Over the years I have trained with national/international level athletes and coaches for Martial Arts and Fitness / Peak Performance. As a Coach, Nova Mente has struck a unique balance with their approach of training the mind and the body. As a student, the class structure is technical and has some of the highest level fundamentals I have ever seen, all taught in formats that ensure success. (that one conversation we had over guard passing has unbelievably impacted the way I look at passing the guard.) On a personal note, I have also never seen a more passionate team that cares about “bringing people with them” towards success inside and outside of the gym. I can’t thank Coach Dylan enough and very much recommend you try out a few classes to see what me and so many others have experienced.
I like to push myself. After being disabled in the Army, it was hard to find a safe and energetic place that would fulfill that need for me. This place is like a second home. Everyone is so friendly and ready to answer questions. I've gotten a second chance at martial arts in a family friendly environment. Thanks Nova! You're the best!

There are no egos in the instructors or teammates that you may experience elsewhere. I've been training Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ) at Nova since last year and it's been an amazing experience. BJJ is excellent for building discipline, confidence, staying physically active and of course self-defense. The team at Nova will always ensure you feel welcome and included, the coaches are really good at explaining and making sure you're progressing and the community around you is always there to support you. In addition to this Nova is very inclusive of everyone and all walks of life, love this place!
I love these people! As a gay man who has never done a sport I was initially very nervous, but Cam, Sam, Kyle and Dylan were so supportive and welcoming that I quickly felt at home. There's the instruction is very good and technical, membership allows for unlimited classes and training during the week, and personal training is available for those who want it.
This place is all about wellness, physical, social, mental. All of the coaches, cam, sam, todd, Dylan, Kyle, troy, etc. Are experts in their field and very helpful! I highly recommend the jiu jitsu and the kickboxing! P.s. CBD, massage, chiropractor are also available!

My family and I were members of this gym for 2 years and sadly found ourselves ending our relationship due a verbal altercation(which I have recorded) that ensued from Todd the strength and conditioning coach. He thought it was appropriate to scream and curse at my teen daughter and I after we asked for clarification over a miscommunication on Todd's part. We also didn't appreciate his lack of acknowledgment when he would arrive late to some of our personal training sessions. Todd tried to intimidate my daughter and I but instead this situation strengthened our voices to speak up against bullies like Todd. The owner of the gym , Dylan, whom I have nothing but praise for, did reach out to us but unfortunately it was too late by that point.
