We love the kids classes! Professor Rodrigo and Monique and the twins are all patient with the kids as they learn techniques, but they also hold them accountable in an age appropriate way. It’s been such a blessing for both our kids to learn and grow here.

The coaches and family here are exactly what this sport needs. High quality training partners that are consistently in the competition scene and a awesome environment for kids and family. 10/10.

After watching my boyfriend practice jiu-jitsu for about a year and a half, I decided to give it a try at North South in June 2023—and I’m so glad I did! I immediately fell in love with it and have been attending every week since. Not only is it an amazing way to learn self-defense, but the community at North South is truly one-of-a-kind. We’re like family here, always supporting each other both on and off the mats. I can’t speak highly enough about our professors, Monique and Rodrigo. They genuinely care about their students and are always there to help us reach our goals. Whether you’re looking to train as a hobbyist or a competitor, I highly recommend checking out NS!

Awesome gym, great supportive community, and top notch training. Multiple Black Belts on the mat at any given time. Lessons are methodical and fundamentals are reinforced so if you can commit to showing up consistently you will see improvement. The thing that initially surprised me was how welcoming the environment is. This isn’t always the case in gyms that train combat sports. Training at North South has been an amazing experience and if you are looking for a Jiu Jitsu gym in the North Dallas area this place is worth dropping in.

This jiu-jitsu gym is fantastic! The teachers will help you learn with a bit of a helpful push. They will go step by step with you.Though at times it can be tough they will help you with content to help everyone understand the things that can naturally be hard for alot of people. This gym also offers a variety of classes to people of all ages! If you want to learn jiu-jitsu this is a perfect place to go to if you want some of the best quality of teaching!

I’ve trained at several gyms the past few years and I finally found my home. Before I even switched to North South, Monique welcomed me with open arms every time I needed a place to cross train. Her and Rodrigo are truly invested in their students and are amazing competitors themselves. They have great work ethic and technique that they pass on to their students. They have created an environment where students show up for one another in training and at competitions. North South is truly a team who works as one. Bonuses are their facility is beautiful and kept clean, plus their business partners are great people (Danyelle is the gym mom and is simply amazing).

Started our Pre-School son at North South Jiu Jitsu for a month. Professor Rodrigo, his wife and Danyelle are great and super patient in teaching our son. It’s wonderful kids classes are later in the day, after school. I’m considering joining myself after the Holiday’s. North South Jiu Jitsu is a great community to join.

Very rarely do you find a gym who, despite being in its infancy, has such an established culture PLUS an amazing training environment. Having trained at gyms across the U.S., I can say wholeheartedly North South ranks at the top and my confidence and skill has increased exponentially. You know you have a good gym when people hang out even when they aren’t training! Instructors and training partners are literally world champions but you’d never know just be talking to them. Passion is a virtue at this gym and illustrates the care the professors have for their students. While we may get a little loud at competitions, don’t be mistaken, it is 100% pure compassion and desire not to win, but to be the best we can be.

If you live in Dallas, I strongly recommend you start training at North South JiuJitsu. Rodrigo and his lovely wife Monique are just great people. Very inviting, hospitable, you will know right away when you walk in, it's a very positive atmosphere to train martial arts... A+....A+... Thanks again!

We came to see the Professors and Danyelle today, my son who is 5 yo had a great time. He learned some new moves and learned how to play the shark game at the end of class. Everyone was professional, kind, and treated my son as I do when teaching him something new. I recommend this business and commend the staff on their hard work.

I also wanted to give my two cents, I walked in to this facility and I was met with nothing but pure love and respect 🙏, I had tried to train at a different place in plano but I never felt like i belonged , the owner/instructor did not Even acknowledge my existence (for 3 month!!!), it made me feel like I wasn't supposed to be there, pass forward 1 year and I walked in to North South, and I just knew I had made the best decision in my life, I wanted to try North South and one other place to feel the energy, needles to say I never went to the other place. To all owners/instructors and also members, I salute you 🫡🫡🫡

I first need to counter the only 1 star review- the videos are posted. Watch them and you will see the blatant disrespect/repeated attempts at cheating. I am proud of how my son and Professor handled that situation. Rodrigo, Monique, Danyelle, and Joe -have built an amazing gym to be at. The dedication, drive, and just pure love for the sport shines through in every aspect. They are excellant teachers for children and adults alike, on all levels. I can ask any question I need at any time and I'll get an answer or explanation. This applies to off the mats as well. Truly great people, very glad to have them to look up to for my children, husband, and myself

I’ve been training at North South BJJ gym for a few months, and I can’t say enough good things about it. There is enough parking, so there’s no stress getting to class. The professors are incredibly accessible and genuinely eager to help everyone improve, regardless of their skill level. The atmosphere is always positive, with people constantly smiling and supporting each other. The team here has truly cultivated a family-like culture, making it the perfect place to start your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey. Highly recommend!

I truly love this place. This gym from the moment you walk in, feels light and joyful. It’s an open concept with lots of light, multiple bathrooms and showers, as well as very well made and private changing rooms. It’s incredibly clean and has a huge area for the kids and spectating parents. Danyelle is the warmest person and immediately greets you like you are family. She is the best. You always feel welcome. The women’s classes are fun and great for hobbiests or comp ladies. Professora Monique is an amazing teacher and she puts her whole heart into class. I always learn something new and sneaky from her classes and it’s my favorite. She gives you individualized attention and helps develop your unique game. Professor Rodrigo is an exceptional professor and is hilarious, just don’t tell him that. Classes are fun, challenging, and he will push you. You’re always learning. There’s lots of rolling, but also the very necessary situational sparring, drilling, and technique. He will always answer questions and is never too proud to help you. He wants you to succeed. If you want to start training or are looking for a place that’s smaller/ family like to help you grow. This is it. Stellar education, stellar teammates, lots of fun, and two professors who would do anything to help you be the best version of you. For my ladies, this is a safe space of lots of women who really care. We do outings, we show up for each other, and we help with the kiddos. This is where you want to be, even if it’s JUST VISITING for women’s class. We have lots of ladies who cross train with us, and we love to have you!

Rodrigo and Monique have dedicated their lives to the game. I’ve had the pleasure to train with them for 2 years now. I’m constantly inspired and motivated by the work they put into their students and themselves. They are always leading from the front and are genuinely great people. I’ve seen them routinely clock 70+ hours a week into training, coaching, refing, and competing. There is no one I’d rather have in my corner.

I’ve witnessed Rodrigo and Monique pour into their students out of passion for the sport, and it’s incredible! Learning under them has been an exciting experience. I’ve watched them make Jiu-Jitsu fun for the little ones while simultaneously teaching them important skills. Danyelle and Joe never fall short of making the gym hospitable. Amazing gym overall

Great culture here. If we lived closer, my son would definitely attend the academy because the professors are world-class. Even as non-members, when my son attends open mats, everyone is super friendly, and the training environment is safe while still being competitive. Thanking the entire North South Jiu Jitsu family so much for your hospitality.

This gym is truly incredible, you will not be disappointed!! First off - the facility is absolutely beautiful, plenty of mat space and extremely clean. There are multiple restrooms, changing rooms and even a shower. The coaching is about as high level as it gets, professor Rodrigo is a world class competitor and truly cares and loves his students. Lastly, it’s the most welcoming gym I’ve ever been to, you’re greeted by your first name every time you walk in and it truly feels like a family environment. If you’re considering a gym for you or your little one, please look no further and come give North South a try!!

As a loving parent of two Brazilian jiu-jitsu students, I care about the facility’s cleanliness, safety and overall atmosphere, as well as the faculty members’ professionalism, knowledge of the sport, and their hearts for the students. *This brand new gym features a fresh-scented interior with a glass-walled kids room/ private coaching room at the deeper side of the mat, allowing new moms with loud babies to be present while their older kids can attend their class. *In case you didn’t have time to change into your Gi, they have a changing room aside from their two bathrooms. *Instructors Rodrigo and Monique are powerful yet gentle teachers. You will love their respectful and passionate coaching style, they are amazing. I saw younger students being built up not only physically but also emotionally as well. *Danielle is one of the owners and she has a heart for the jiu-jitsu community. She too is a jiu-jitsu mom, and she loves to help unifying other families through the sport. We love bringing our boys to this gym and I want you to take your whole family here to see what I’m talking about!

When a instructer try’s to start a fight with a parent watching the match, but continues to yell at the other kid in the match, because he does not like how the match is going is just horrible sportsmen ship. I was there watching and this is no way it should have been handled. What a horrible person. I would never send my kids to this place.
