The main obstacle I faced in joining this program was the fear of the unknown. When I first heard about it, I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I decided to take the leap and embrace the opportunity, and I’m so glad I did. As a result, I learned to push past my own fears and just ask questions. This program truly helped me discover the “superpower” I never knew I had. The instructor shared personal stories to show us the importance of not settling for what’s handed to us, and to have the courage to ask for more. One key lesson that stood out was the phrase “don’t order from the menu of life,” which taught me to challenge the status quo. I also learned to stop getting in my own way and to question everything that’s presented to me. In the end, the program culminated in a fun, interactive game that allowed me to apply everything I had learned. I would highly recommend this program to everyone.
I must admit I was a bit hesitant to join the program. I was getting into my own head, thinking, how would a corporate business want to do a self-defense seminar? In the end, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. I knew I made the right decision from the first call with Justin. I started implementing the process and changes we reviewed and immediately saw results. We hadn't finished with the program, and I was contacted by a major university and hospital asking for a quote for self-defense seminars. If you follow the process and implement the changes, you will have success. If you're on the fence, I say jump off and give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
I started out with a nebulous idea of what I wanted to do and nothing else. I'm grateful that I came across Justin's ad because not only did he have a step-by-step process to do it but he also provides marketing and insight that will make it far easier to reach out to prospective clients. Participating in urban escape and evasion was an invaluable and memorable learning experience. Do you see the dot on the paper or the white space around it? Do you want some OJ or milk?? Do you have no idea what I'm talking about at all??? Well neither did I until I took Justin's "Tactical Conversations" course. This course will have you looking and thinking at everyday occurrences with a completely different view which will help you find and/or create a life full of win/win situations wherever you go. Cool fact: after the first section of this training, I immediately used the skills Justin taught and was able to earn and save enough $ to equal about 75% of the cost of the course! Name one college class that can say that? If you are stuck in Black and White thinking, this will break you free of that. If you already have a curious mind, this will only enhance it. And if you are still left wondering if this course is worth it, then you are wasting your time.

Justin knows what he is talking about. Real-world, real defense and counter-measures against realistic scenarios. The counter measures against real weapons (guns, knives) was especially enlightening. From day one, I learned actual, effective techniques I could actually use against attackers. I'm still a beginner, but this is information you can use from day one. Totally recommend.
I have been attending classes for about one month. I have much to learn, but my level of awareness of how to protect myself is shifting! I am learning things I can use immediately. I feel empowered and strong and it's helping me deal with some personal issues, which is what prompted me to sign up. Justin and his instructors are talented and kind. The facility is clean and inviting. The cost is worth the investment in myself. I couldn't have made better choice in signing up!
I’m 7 weeks through the program and the material Justin has shared has been great. Justin explains each concept in a way that is easy to understand. The accompanying supplemental material (slides/scripts) have also been very useful. The course was perfect to help bring All-Star Taekwon-Do & Self-Defense up to more “current times” regarding marketing and how to position our business. We booked our first corporate seminar before the end of our 8-week training program.
I couldn't really afford the 8-Week Mentoring Program, but after talking with Justin once, I knew I'd find a way to make it happen. He's been super inspirational & detailed with helpful hints. Justin's course was the thing I've been looking for specifically for years. I had to commit myself financially at what seemed like the worst possible time. I knew that if I didn't do it now, I would never do it at all. I just finished the 8 week course, and I know in my gut that it was the right decision. Having a clear step by step guide is worth far more than what he charges, and he is entirely present for the sessions. I'd recommend that if you're on the fence, do what it takes and leap. The only way you can mess this up is by not doing it.
I've been running a studio within our organization for the past three years, and although we have great systems and processes, I was looking for a fresh set of eyes and ideas to give us a boost going into the new year. I was a bit skeptical at first. My school is currently very small, so the cost for coaching made me nervous. I hade to make sure I could recoup my costs. I was pleasantly surprised. I was contacted by Justin about a year ago as i contacted him for some information. He told me about his program. At the time it was just too much at the time to take on. As time went on he continued to contact me about specials, offers, his mentoring program. Last contact I mentioned my issues, he was very confident he could help not only with some specifics but with many others as well. What I found out is he is confident, helpful, very professional in every thing he does, I ask, he does his best to answer my questions, and if he doesn't have an answer he will get the information for me. He Shows his enthusiasm in every conversation and he helps in any way he can. Mostly his guidance and professionalism is what I wanted most. He actually answers messaging as fast as he can. I don't know of any other coaches who do this? I feel as though I am constantly learning with every conversation and I continue to learn. As a woman who travels frequently across the west coast for work, Justin and ACWA have been an excellent source of real world self defense training. Whether it be a private course, group lesson, or Urban Survival/ Escape course, every bit of material is applicable in the real world. The Urban Survival and Escape course is top notch training that you won’t receive just anywhere. Not only is the course educational but it’s also really FUN!

Mr. Everyman's coaching is phenomenal! I was going through a rough patch financially in my school following a few bad months. I saw his program and it seemed like it was what I needed, but I've been burned with bad coaching before. After one phone call I knew that this wouldn't be the same as in the past. Not did he work with me to afford the program, but I IMMEDIATELY started to get return from it. After week one, just the way I talked to potential customers changed and we got more people in the door. It changed how I see advertising and how I see other businesses. I love teaching but struggle severely with marketing and social media. Justin had to walk me through a lot of this but he was very patient. I have started my implementation and he has stayed in contact even though our sessions are over. Highly recommended!

I’ve tried a few things to help me with my school. A.C.W.A. has been the best thing ever. From day one it’s been hands on which is very important to me. If you need anything or have any questions Justin is there for you. I’ve learned so much about improving my business from what I already have in just one session. Justin Everman is an outstanding self-defense teacher and I highly recommend his self-defense class at ACWA! He focuses on practical self-defense techniques that can be used quickly in real world scenarios. He teaches physical self-defense training along with verbal and psychological self-defense methods. HIs methods are easy to apply in dangerous situations. Each week he will have a short lecture on a variety of dangerous scenarios and self-defense methods to counter possible threats. This is followed by hands on training where we put this material into practice! You always come away each week learning new methods for self-defense. And this builds your confidence that you can successfully protect yourself. Last but not least, Justin is a very positive, approachable and enthusiastic teacher! He brings great energy, insight and passion to his instruction. And the class is made up of very positive and supportive students. In closing, this is the class you need to take if you're looking for hands on, practical self-defense training that you can use quickly in a dangerous situation!
As a school owner and long time practitioner I have experienced a lot of different aspects of self defense amongst a plethora of instructors. As a general rule of thumb I believe we should always continue our education. However, When I came across ACWA my first thought was; “how could someone who doesn’t train Jiu Jitsu for self defense teach me anything about self defense ?”. Especially in the midst of a “pandemic” when gyms were taking the brunt of the hit for shut downs both business and health related reasons devastated most places and the price was definitely an investment. After my first lesson all of those anxieties about the program went away. I soon realized I had discovered a gem. The insight I gained was worth every penny. I realized that Justin was as if not more passionate about what he knew I was hooked on learning all he was showing me. I soaked it all in and was able to come to an aha moment around our fourth week. That’s when I knew paying was not only a good investment but a smart one as well. Justin gave me the motivation to revamp my whole approach to teaching self defense and making the most out what I have to offer. He also gave me invaluable insight into how to make more money and to help even more people. I would recommend anyone who is into sales and marketing to add this to your list of continuing education you will not regret it.
Working with Justin was very good. At first I thought I wasn’t going to be able to afford the training but he was able to work with me and my budget. I learned different ways of doing marketing for my business and it has grown since I started working with A.C.W.A.
First and foremost... my experience with Mr. Justin Everman was as a student- but not through a self defense lens- but rather my experience was as a fellow school owner. I had an incredible experience working with him as a business coach. Justin is an AMAZING leader in martial arts - and we all know that - he's also an amazing coach when it comes to mentoring other professionals within the industry. His insights are spot on, his presentations and delivery of information are masterful, and he has a shareable best practices for days that every business owner no matter where they are in their journey can use. That last part- the "no matter where they are in their journey" part - might be the most important to hit on. Most MA coaches are for people starting out. They have limited ability to help established schools get better and even less ability at assessing the needs of the school owner. Instead, they provide prepacked solutions that meet a one size fits all approach. Mr. Everman, however, does not. He listens to understand and then pulls the right discussions together to drive the way ahead that meets the school owner where they are. That's a small but important detail because no one wants / needs to be coached exclusively on things they are doing well- they need it where they have real gaps! And again, that's where Mr. Everman's skill at listening and offering top-tier coaching and consulting come quickly into view. Mr. Everman's coaching for martial arts industry professionals is on the same level as corporate consulting that I experienced as a senior leader from industry powerhouses such as the Boston Consulting Group, McKenzie, Deloitte, and others. He has a great ability to boil the many things that one can face down into the precious, actionable few with strategies (and tactics!) that one can use immediately and go after low hanging fruit as well as longer term, transformational approaches to approaching the industry and our business. I found that his best practices provided me with immediate and actionable direction, his insights and data are easily consumable in order to make decisions with, and then he provided me with extras (positive things that I did not expect) tailored to my needs... all the while checking in with me and making sure that I had the tools to be successful. I just spent an invaluable weekend receiving instruction on escaping restraints, picking locks, escaping trunks, dealing with interrogation, and navigating around town when you are being searched for. I then had hands on practice in the security of the classroom, and after the instructors were confident in my abilities and skills, tested with a simulated kidnapping experience. The physical, mental, and psychological skills are widely applicable to a variety of situations, and are the needed foundation for self-defense of any kind. I can't recommend this experience enough.
This program helped me overcome the obstacle of getting comfortable charging high ticket prices. Justin helped me see the value I was offering and has helped me get several clients at three digit prices! I found people are willing to pay for the value I offer as a self defense instructor and when one of my clients said, "you've got me for life," I knew I invested in these right program!

Why 5 Stars? As a result of Justin's coaching program I have improved my writing skills to better communicate my message and create effective ad copy. I was able to improved my print and digital content, and gained insight into how to market Professional Self-Defense seminars to businesses in my community. Because I had the option make multiple payments for the program, I didn't have to put other purchases on hold. For me there was a substantial return for a reasonable cost.
11/14 and 11/15, I did the instructor classes. I was extremely impressed with the training that I received. I love Justine passion and belief for what he teaches. Usually training classes like this seemed to be geared towards super in shape macho males. This program is geared to people of no matter your age, size or sex. It helps protects you by helping you become aware of your self, others and the environment that you are current in. Wonderful support system for new instructors, I am over joyed that I joined.
Coach Justin is extremely knowledgeable on every aspect he teaches. My husband & I started self defense classes not too long ago; since day one we were comfortable talking to him & letting him know our concerns/ fears. I have been a member of ACWA for a while now, I only have praises for Justin and the other instructors. I learned a lot of self defense techniques, but its not just physical self defense you will learn, Justin is also teaching Conversational Tactics using daily scenarios. The sessions are engaging and full of energy. I would recommend ACWA to everyone.
This is the most practical self defense martial art that I have ever seen. I originally encountered A.C.W.A. through a level 2 security guard training. I was thoroughly impressed with the use of IGT techniques and body mechanics, so much so that when i was able to i joined the instructor program. I have since attended one green level training event and train every other day with my family. This is truly a "renaissance" martial art as you can adapt it to any circumstance and still be able to use basic concepts that help keep you and your loved ones safe. And quite honestly as a veteran I feel that this combatives style should be the military standard. It is versatile in style and allows for the use of defense tools with minimal change to your basic form if any at all. But above all else this is a great team of people who truly believe in each other and put in work to ensure their teammates stay at their best. And the best part is no one is here to compete. Yes we have healthy competition,but no one is trying to be the next UFC champion. If you're looking to enhance your life, keep your family safe, or to give your parents a break from worrying when you go to college I would highly suggest training with Justin and the crew you won't regret it.
I first came across A.C.W.A when I was looking for a self defense class that did not revolve around competing. I wanted to learn how to defend myself in the event that I needed to, not just belt up. A.C.W.A is exactly what I was looking for and I would recommend these classes to everyone I know. Justin is immensely knowledgeable and is an excellent teacher. Through practicing this form of selfdefense you will be prepared for whatever situation you may find yourself in, even if that only means possessing an increased awareness of your surroundings.
My teenage daughter and I have been taking the regular self-defense classes here for a while. I wanted her to be as prepared as possible to defend herself before she leaves for college. I love the philosophy behind this program. It's not about how big or strong you are. It's also not a competition based on colored belts or winning trophies. It's about giving you the tools you need to get out of bad situations alive. We recently went through the Urban Escape and Evasion class they offer and while it is different than the regular classes, the philosophy is the same. I highly recommend both programs to anyone.
FIVE STARS for the ACWA team and overall experience! I traveled from Southern California to train and participate in their Urban Escape & Evasion(UE&E)course. The owner Justin and his team are top notch in their customer experience and customer service. The team is welcoming and really make an effort to insure that everyone feels welcome and included regardless of their previous training(or none at all). We had participants with all backgrounds from college students and retried executives to former marines. The UE&E was a real eye opener, fun and very challenging. Special shout out to Team Member Eric(and the TEAM of trackers) for keeping the pressure on. Definitively worth the travel time and investment. Had an amazing experience with Justin and the instructors at ACWA this weekend. The Urban Escape and Evasion Experience course was full of useful information that could save your life if you ever find yourself unlawfully detained or kidnapped. I know, it will never happen to you right? There are countless news stories of people becoming the victim of a home invasion because the bad guys simply got the wrong house. This is a crazy world, it can't happen to you just isn't an option anymore. The skills and practical knowledge you learn in this course are invaluable and there aren't a lot of places outside of the military teaching this. It's a fun and informative way to spend a weekend!!!
This is practical, usable stuff that you can use the minute you leave the class. You don't have to wait years gradually working your way up through the ranks. This is way different from any martial art and Justin and his amazing instructors keep it light and interesting without losing effectiveness. It is instantly useful. There isn't a situation that you can present to the instructors that they can't give you a dozen ways to handle. I felt empowered and more self-confident after the first class yet, at the same time, want more and more. In short, this stuff works. You don't have to be fancy to be effective. Love the instructors and love the camaraderie.

A.C.W.A is unlike any self-defense training that I have seen. For years I have been looking for self –defense training that would get to the point, while being very useful in real life situations. The closest training that I was interested in was only offered in the military Special Forces. I was immediately interested when I researched A.C.W.A. So I called to further check it out. I was invited for a close up visit. I was impressed with the positive family environment. I became a team member on my first visit because I knew this was where I needed to be. The classes are always mentally challenging. Justin makes learning fun and very effective. Not only am I learning how to defend myself and get home safely. Great instructors with the knowledge to convey how to properly defend yourself and feel comfortable doing it. Everyone teaches everyone atmosphere. From the start you can tell it is nothing like a "normal" self defense class or martial art. A very welcoming feel and safe environment that helps you to overcome any doubts you have about self protection and ability. Very glad I joined this group of people and look forward to more training.
I always thought " bullying is always the thing, i should not be victim of it but instead be captain of it" and thought to learn self defense techniques and when i finally found this academy, on the first day itself, i knew this is the place i am looking for, it has the best instructors who takes care like i have never seen before. I am able to see the difference in my confidence level. Price, Teaching style , Space everything is awesome here. I am indeed excited and looking forward to continue for a very long time.
I found A.C.W.A. on Google, while searching for an alternative to Crav Maga. I wasn't interested in learning all kinds of techniques or memorizing complicated moves that might take years to achieve. I wanted to get some training that was immediately applicable and useful. Justin Everman's classes provide you with tools you can use immediately. Each class gives you another piece of the puzzle. There is no beginning class. You just jump right in. It's actually fun. Justin and the instructors are helpful, kind, and courteous. I was a little hesitant, because I'm older than most of the other students (55+). But, that hasn't been a problem. You take it at your own pace. And can sign up for classes either once or twice a week. Highly recommended!
All throughout my life I have both admired and practiced martial Arts in various forms. Being new to the area and finally settling down after 6 moves in the past 4 years (military life) I wanted to engage and dedicate myself to martial arts once again BUT wanted to learn a different style that would both challenge and educate me further from what I have already learned/ practiced. After numerous Google searches I stumbled across the A.C.W.A. website and found the "Instructor Course" program that Justin Everman (Chief instructor and CEO/founder of the A.C.W.A.) provided. I sent him an email asking about the program and his combative arts and within 15 minutes i received a personally wrote message from Justin with very inspiring comments and a time that he could call me and talk about further training. This instantly resonated with me as I have never seen this personal approach to possible new prospects ever. :) The call that Justin and I had (that day by the way) was spectacular! It was more of the lines of getting to know each other rather than a template of questions to ask me and a "plug" to sell his combative style. In closing i remember him saying "come into the Academy and you will see in 1 class how self defense was really meant to be" This immediately provoked my curiosity so as instructed I came to the free trial class that A.C.W.A offers and my world was completely rocked. Everything i knew about martial arts/ self defense from my past (even though a good base to have) was completely turned upside down by the easy and efficient tool sets that Justin equipped me with to halt opponents in their tracks......from only a 1 hour class!! That day I knew I craved more and that same day Justin accepted me into his Instructor program (which is a must if your looking for the next level of training and dedication). I attended the 2 day instructor program ( 1 week later) and by the end of it (tired and drained) I felt as if I learned more about self defense then I have ever learned in martial arts after years of practicing. Every Thursday, Friday, and Sunday I attend A.C.W.A.'s combative group classes and every time after those classes I have the urge to learn more and test myself even further, and of course (due to the level of training you and your partner can set in class) get a great full body workout. The family atmosphere and "no quit" encouragement you receive during the class are also a fantastic perk :) In short, everything that you THINK you know about martial arts and/or self defense will be seriously rocked and/or PROVEN WRONG if you are deciding to attend the A.C.W.A classes. The immediate family like atmosphere will support you in any walk of life you are in, and will adhere to any needs that you have in regards to self defense. I have been a team member of A.C.W.A since January and I have learned so much. Each week I look forward to coming and bettering my skills. You learn the tools to defend from things that happen in real life situations. The instructors are super helpful and they make it easy to learn. The class can be intense sometimes but Justin makes it a fun atmosphere to train. This is a great program and I would recommend it to anyone.
The A.C.W.A approach to defense is exactly what I have been looking for! I have studied a few forms of combat and self defense over the years and Justin and his team of instructors have got it down to what it should be. Real life scenarios, well thought out skills, expert demonstration, and plenty of practice. I enjoy every class and always leave feeling like I have a new tool that I can use for my personal defense. Great program and I highly recommend it.
I'm a single dad to a 6 year old girl. I joined the academy for a fun way to stay active and learn how to better defend myself and my family. The academy teaches real solutions that anyone can use for self defense. You don't need to be coordinated or have any martial arts experience to learn this. I highly recommend giving them a call and trying out a class! You won't be disappointed.
This is an excellent class that prepares you for unexpected situations. The class always provides you with one on one instruction. I would definitely recommend anyone with a daughter to have her take the class. They teach skills anyone can learn and could save your life. Justin is an excellent teacher and also makes the class enjoyable.
Training in this class has been a life changing experience. It blows my mind all of the situations that could have arisen for which I would have had no response. Why guess how you'd react if you were attacked or had to defend yourself or your loved ones? Get a solid plan. From the first day of class I found that I carried myself differently. Justin is the best instructor I've ever had for anything I've ever tried to learn. Most rote schooling or other classic forms of teaching expect everyone to understand everything the same way. Justin gives you the explanation that YOU understand. I've had more lightbulbs go off from his teaching methods in a short amount of time than I've had with years in my other studies. Take this class. Change your life. Get a plan or passively be a victim.
As an avid student of self defense and the education of personal self protection I have studied traditional martial arts as well as military tactics. It was very clear to me on my first visit that Justin and A.C.W.A. were doing something no one else was doing and that was giving people the knowledge they need to protect not only themselves but others as well. Nothing fancy , just getting down to business and getting immediate clear results that work everywhere in the world we live in today! Personally I will not waste anymore of my time going anywhere else. A.C.W.A. is clearly the best choice for getting the tools necessary for self protection.
