Nine16 is hands down one of the best places to train jiu-jitsu. Coach Keith is an incredible instructor who knows how to break down techniques so they’re easy to understand for beginners but still super valuable for advanced students. He’s patient, detailed, and genuinely cares about helping everyone improve. As well all the other coaches, they play a huge role in creating such a great atmosphere. They’re knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to help you out. The vibe here is super welcoming, and the training partners are supportive and fun to roll with. You’ll feel like part of the team from day one!

I really enjoy training BJJ at Nine 16. Its a newer school so its smaller than most schools in the area, but the training is high level, and the people there are very supportive. The MMA and KB coaches are awesome and our kids adore them.

I'm a professional fighter I've been training for over 10 years and been to a lot of gyms and I can't remember any techniques but a few months here I retain a lot of their technique great coaches friendly training partners, the owner hands down one nicest guys you'll ever meet loves the sport and truly just wants you to get better at jiu jitsu 🙏

Nine 16 Jiu-Jitsu has such a welcoming environment. The instructors teach technique clearly and professionally. They always have others willing to help newer students with step-by-step instructions. I am new to jiu-jitsu but never feel stressed or left behind during class. It’s a great place for anyone to learn and gain skills!

Great place, awesome people, and amazing instructors. Coming from a Judoka background, both my son and myself train here, and nothing but amazing things come from this place. Great for both kids and adults. The instructors are really informative and ensure that not only you leave having a good workout but a positive attitude when you leave their doors.

This gym is the place to be! I have been training here for years and I’ve trained at other Jiu Jitsu gyms… the vibe is just not the same. The coaches attentiveness along with the feeling of “being at home” is what makes this place special. You won’t find a more welcoming environment anywhere else. The value of the coaches also go a long way. Whether you want to be a competitor or just casually pick up a new hobby, nine16 is the best place in the Sacramento area to do it.

My son and I have been training here at Nine16 for about a year and a half now. I’ve seen personal growth in both my son and I as a direct result of training with Coach Keith and all the coaches here. Both my son and I have competed representing the gym and did so proudly for everything they’ve taught us and how welcoming they’ve been since day 1. On to many more years! And if you’re considering BJJ, swing by. All the upper belts are experienced and are excellent teachers.

I always see reels and posts from this studio on IG and I recently found out they have adult classes, so I looked into them. My husband wants to try out martial arts, but he's a total newbie. The owner was so kind to us and very professional too. He made my husband feel comfortable and welcomed and he's signed up to take his first class now! The studio is super clean too, so if you have kids or you want to try it out jiu-jitsu for yourself, this is the place to spend your $$.

Over a year ago I joined in June, and I do like the vibe of this place, and I also like Coach Keith he's very kind towards his students. I do like the people at the gym, amazing people and we’re more than just a team we’re more like family, One Big Family! I enjoy training here at this school. I highly recommend this school if anyone is interested of joining Jiu Jitsu

Great environment and family oriented gym that you don’t get at most gyms. Self defense is a (MUST) for all ages, genders, and sizes! With the help of great coaches like Coach Keith and Coach Pedro and the list goes on and also the help from our peers as we have some of the best top high level grapplers in the art of BJJ. This team has helped me go from 235 lbs to 175 lbs in a matter of less than 8 months! Despite being a former 300 pounder! I highly recommend coming to train at Nine16 free trial for a week and decide if you want to take on the journey!

Been training here a bit and it's a great school. Keith and the other coaches have great knowledge, and excellent at transmitting this to their students. They are dedicated to their students and it shows. The atmosphere is quality as well, I was treated like part of the team from day 1, and everyone is friendly and willing to help each other. One thing that really differentiates this school from others is the stand-up and wrestling which is incorporated into training.

My 7 year old daughter has been learning jiu jitsu at Nine16 for 2.5 years now. Coach Keith and the other coaches are so amazing with the kids. Not only do the coaches do a superb job teaching the techniques of bjj, but they also emphasize discipline, hard work, being a good partner, and provide an encouraging, positive, fun environment. We love Nine16!

I have been coming here for 5 months and I can say that this gym is amazing! The gym is owned by Keith. He is very nice and kind to everyone of his students. The people here are very friendly and the gym provides an awesome environment. There are great training partners who would be willing to help you and help you get good at Jiu Jitsu!

By far a great training environment for kids and adults. Taking my kids here was one of the best decisions. Has not only taught them the fundamentals of jiu jujitsu but also respect and discipline. Has helped my youngest child get out of his shy shell. A family oriented vibe. The instructors are very knowledgeable and hands on. Really dedicated to their students.

Awesome Gym, great jiu-jitsu, safe atmosphere, and has tons of upper belts including black belts on his mat. Keith the owner has done such a great job with both getting great instructors and creating a safe and friendly environment. The atmosphere here is one of a kind. I was the in the area for a few weeks and visited 7 different gyms and Nine16 is one of the only gyms I went back to on a daily basis. I went to Keith's morning class and multiple classes taught by his black belt instructor Issac. I had the opportunity to both take classes from Keith and take classes with Keith as well as rolled with him for at least 20 rounds during my stay in Sacramento. Keith is an awesome and attentive teacher and sparring partner. I highly recommend his gym to anyone of any level. He constantly has multiple people of all belts including black at his gym. Whether you are just starting or are advanced give him a call.
