This is one of the gems of the Quad Cities, I've been training here off and on for over a decade and I absolutely love it. A clean family environment, Travis is an amazing coach and resource of marital arts information that's been in his family for generations. You won't find a more welcoming place to sharpen your skills or just get in shape. Highly recommend 10/10

Always have loved this place I still love this place my peice of mind when things weren't going right I can always go and work the bags or pads to get out my frustrations and build my social skills up I used to be very introverted this place and the students and masters brought out the very best in me Ill always have deep gratitude and affection for the dojo and the students I'm a black belt course holder and a lifetime member best investment I have ever made into myself

I started training Kickboxing here a couple years ago, as it's one of the few places in the area that seems to teach it. The owner personally teaches the classes and does an excellent job. I have learned a great deal in my time training here and highly recommend Tarpein's to anyone that wants to learn a martial art.

I recently joined Nick Tarpein's Martial Arts, and I must say, it's one of the best decisions I've made for my fitness journey. This gym is absolutely amazing, and I give it a 5-star rating without hesitation.
Firstly, the instructor Travis Tarpein is top-notch. He has years of experience and is very patient with all of his students, regardless of their skill level. He takes the time to explain each technique in detail and ensures that everyone is comfortable before moving on to the next one. I've learned so much from him already, and I'm excited to continue to grow under his guidance.
Secondly, my classmates are awesome! They are all very friendly, encouraging, and supportive. I never feel intimidated or judged when I'm training with them. They all have different backgrounds and skill levels, but we all come together to learn and grow as a team.
Thirdly, the comradery in this place is unmatched. Everyone is like family here. We all push each other to improve and celebrate each other's victories. It's an amazing feeling to be a part of such a tight-knit community.
Lastly, the gym is extremely welcoming to new members who don't want to compete but want to get in shape. I was a bit hesitant to join at first because I didn't have any martial arts experience, but everyone here made me feel right at home. They make sure to modify the workouts for beginners and are always willing to lend a helping hand.
Overall, I highly recommend Nick Tarpein's Martial Arts to anyone who wants to get in shape, compete, learn self-defense, or be part of a fantastic community. I can't wait to see where my journey here takes me!

This place has a great atmosphere filled with even better people. Any higher belts are always willing to help, regardless of whether it's jiu-jitsu, judo, muay thai, or karate. The owner has a great attitude and wants to see everyone succeed. There are a range of experience in all of the classes as well, from brand new to black belt. The dojo will never shy away from new people joining and will make sure you get the help necessary in any way.
