Welcome to Breaking Point Jiu-Jitsu – the premier Jiu-Jitsu academy in the Quad Cities located in Bettendorf and Davenport.
Breaking point is the perfect place to train jiu jitsu. My son has trained there since 2020 . He loves the coaches, and has made great friends in his time there. I can’t express how much training at breaking point has improved his confidence. I just started training in the adult classes and everyone has been welcoming and friendly. It’s a really fun environment. The coaches do a great job explaining technique and make sure even if you are new like me that you get reps and understand what’s going on. If you or your kids are looking for a place to start training jiu jitsu or you’re just looking for a for a way to get in shape you won’t find a better place, then breaking point.
Posted 6 months agoCoaches have extensive experience and knowledge in Jiu Jitsu. Everyone in the gym is welcoming and personable. Would recommend.
Posted 6 months agoI came in to get some Saturday training while visiting the Quad Cities from Atlanta. Coach Josh led a fun class and I had a great time rolling with everyone. Really good vibes and everyone was very welcoming. I look forward to coming back!
Posted 7 months agoI was able to stop in at the Davenport location while on a work trip and the school was very welcoming. The professor was very knowledgeable and did a great job of explaining the why and worked with each student to ensure they understood the techniques. All the students were very technical and great to roll with. I recommend checking them out.
Posted 8 months agoThe original facility. Slightly different schedule and vibe, but awesome all the same. The facilities are clean and nice. The instructors are great with adults and kids alike. They foster an environment of fun and positivity, all while guiding you on your BJJ journey, at your pace. Other students are great, the more seasoned practitioners are patient and guiding, while not pressuring anyone into anything they are not ready for. Although, the instructors and students, will work WITH you and your progression at the point you are ready. You can't go wrong with either facility, they share many of the same instructors and students. You get access to both with membership. Highly recommend.
Posted 1 year agoBreaking point is exactly what a competitor needs to get better. My wife and I have found our jiujitsu home here. The mats are always clean and everyone there wants to make you feel comfortable. I love this place.
Amazing instructors and amazing students.
My kids have been going for almost a year and absolutely love it. I can't say enough about how well the instructors work with the students. I'm glad we found this and I think it's an amazing outlet for them physically and mentally.
Stopped into Breaking Point to get in some jiujitsu while in town for work. The front desk greeted me and got me signed into class quickly. Everyone was awesome and the rolling was great exactly what I needed after a busy work week. Thanks for the hospitality!
Traveled to the Davenport area for work and had a chance to train at Breaking Point BJJ. They have an awesome facility but even more impressive was the welcoming atmosphere and top-notch instruction. The head instructor, Nate Fenton, was extremely detailed and patient. Everyone I met was really nice and I could tell it's a great school. If you are considering BJJ training or are just visiting the area, I highly recommend Breaking Point! I know I will definitely be back next time I am in the area.
Breaking Point BJJ is family friendly learning environment great for ages 5+ Come prepared to work hard and leave feeling accomplished!
This has been such a positive experience for my daughter, I can see a complete change in her confidence. I would recommend this to anyone, both kids and adults, you won’t be disappointed.
We couldn't be happier with our experience here. We've been members for several years and we wouldn't go anywhere else. Equal parts work and fun, and an incredibly family-like feel. I recommend this gym to anyone looking for a lifelong hobby!!
Great place for a workout and to learn about martial arts. Very family friendly and helpful.
What a wonderful gym. I popped in randomly during the holiday and can’t say enough about the facility. Extremely clean. Absolutely amazing hospitality. Every single person rolled with me. No bad attitudes or egos. The instruction was top notch. The premier gi program in the quad cities hands down. I will definitely will be back. 5 ⭐️
It’s a great gym with excellent instructors that take teaching their classes very seriously.
Its been a month of me training here and I can not express how much this school means to me. I was searching for something to help me cope and rebuild my strength—physically and emotionally. The coaches are absolutely amazing, not just in their teaching but in how much they genuinely care about every person who trains here This school has been my sanctuary, and I can't wait to continue this journey. Whether you're looking to learn self-defense, get in shape, or just find a community to lean on, this is the place to be. They’ve helped me find a light in one of the darkest times of my life, and for that, I’m forever grateful."
Excellent workout, very welcoming atmosphere. Good mix of sizes and capabilities. I will return the next time work has me traveling to the Quad Cities.
A clean, safe, healthy environment in which to learn. Exquisitely detailed instruction, presented in a manner in which we all can understand. 10/10
Yes. Great mats, great instructors, and great community.
Solid place with good vibes, I'd highly recommend anyone new to try it out or anyone not so new to drop in.
Awesome gym and great group of people. Highly recommend.
Nothing but good things to say about this team of people. Positive, encouraging, hard working, driven.
Breaking Point is a great place to train for people of all ages and experience levels. It is a very welcoming gym with a lot of great members and coaches and has classes for all levels and both gi and nogi classes.
My kids love training here! They are fantastic coaches and my teenage boys are getting exactly what I wanted them to get. They love BJJ and Breaking Point. Highly recommend.
After being a part of this place for more than 2 years is a blessing. They will train you to be the best you. Training here helps everyone to realize what they are capable of. The best coach’s and amazing bjj family!! 100/10 recommend to anyone wanting to give this sport a try. ❤️❤️❤️
Great place to train I started a month ago and have gotten hooked on this sport thanks to my experience here. The instructors and students are all great and this gym has a very welcoming environment and a very positive gym culture.
Dropped in from out of town. Everyone was very welcoming. The instructor, Nate, was phenomenal. Great class and one-on-one instruction. I will be back next time I come through the Quad cities.
Great people, great room, great vibe! I was fortunate to train here as a "drop-in" while here temporarily for a conference. I was welcomed in as a drop-in and had a wonderful week of training. Thanks to the whole group!!
The instructor breaks technique down really well making sure you can understand the why of each drill. Great hospitality! Clean amenities.
Best place to train martial arts. Professional jiu-jitsu and kickboxing instructors and techniques! Here you will find a great environment. Competitive Training partners that will constantly push you to improve and train hard. Been here for a couple months and I love it! Maher.
Nothing but quality instruction, fantastically professional ran office and a place where you want to be a part of. Thanks for creating an environment that we all love Breaking Point Jiu Jitsu!!
I’ve been training here for a little over 3 months. This gym is very welcoming and instructors and students are very friendly and helpful. Everyday I get to train is a day to look forward to thank you!!
I'm out of shape and weigh more than I'd like. I find the instructors understanding about capabilities and limitations. I have yet to meet a rude person that attends as well. Cannot recommend them enough if you want to learn brazilian jiu-jitsu.
My daughter started classes at Breaking Point just a couple of months ago, and she absolutely thrives there. The owners and staff are wonderful and it's a very welcoming environment. Even in her first week, she never felt like an outsider there. She's found something she loves to do and she's learning a lot. I would recommend to anyone.
One of the best decisions I have made has been joining this gym. Such a great community, vast wealth of knowledge, and great facility. Their kids classes are also top notch to where the whole family enjoys the journey. A+!!!
Since covid I've struggled getting my child to do anything active. It took one class and he was hooked. He can't wait for training days now. The instructors are patient and attentive. Amazing environment
I have been going to Breaking point for y months and love it! Great coach’s and good people.
Very welcoming atmosphere and the coaches are all great.
Great place to start our continue your martial arts education. BJJ and kickboxing instruction is to notch and they take the time to make sure everything is clear.
Breaking Point is an incredible jiu-jitsu school with strong leadership, excellent technical instruction and a welcoming community of students and coaches. This is a great place to start or continue your jiu-jitsu journey and I can't recommend it enough.
First time there. Very family friendly. Both my son and daughter enjoyed it. We will be joining.. update it has been 7 months and it it is really getting popular. Amazing workout and progress
Great staff! Laid back and very welcoming. They teach solid and sound techniques and take the time to answer all questions
Been going for around 2 months to this excellent gym. If you are looking for not only a great staff who is willing to help you work on jiu jitsu and/or kickboxing, but also a tight community of great people, this is the place to go.
Great place and people
Fantastic coaches, and a great atmosphere. If you’re in the area, definitely stop in!
My son has been coming here for about 3 years and couldn’t be happier with the instructors. Everyone was welcoming from the start! With the kids class being the same start time as the adult classes I decided I would give it a shot. Way out of my comfort zone but everyone there was very encouraging and never passed any judgment! This IS the place you should be for your training!
Fantastic group of people. Great training. Welcoming atmosphere.
Nate Fenton is, simply put, one of the best jiu jitsu practitioners in the area and it shows in his competition, instruction, and coaching. The gym provides a great atmosphere for anyone who’s looking to compete at high levels, learn self-defense, or just stay active with a fun sport. Great atmosphere. Great teammates. And incredible training.
Best bjj school in the QC area. Been going here for almost a year. After 2 months here my jj made drastic improvements. Relaxing and fun atmosphere.
My daughter goes to Breaking Point and loves it. She feels comfortable in the child's and adults class. No matter which day she goes, she knows there are always happy, friendly, helping faces from staff and other teammates. Great environment and very family oriented! Highly recommended!!!
I love this gym!!! My brother and boyfriend got me interested into jiu jitsu and we looked at some other gyms in the area but we chose this one and boy am I glad we did. They are a competitive gym and helpful to all levels. I walked into breaking point knowing nothing and a little nervous, especially being a female I was nervous about if other girls there might be catty like in soccer or some other sports I’ve experienced—not at all!!! Everyone (male and female) made me feel super welcome and comfortable. They really are a family here, more so than I’ve ever experienced with any team I’ve been on! They care about everyone regardless of your belt color or how good you are and will work with you individually if you have any questions and show interest. I have become obsessed with jiu jitsu in such a short amount of time and am so happy this gym sparked it. I will be very sad when I move away in a couple years after graduating school, literally wish I was a local because of this gym lol 😂 20 out of 10 would recommend.
Dedicated group with skills that range from beginners to advanced.
This place has some of the finest training partners, instructors and human beings I've come across. It's an incredibly inviting atmosphere for beginners and lifelong practitioners alike. I've only trained sporadically for 3.5 years but during that time, due to work requiring me to travel, I've been fortunate to be able to experience BJJ in nearly two dozen locations across the country and this place is my favorite. The head instructor Nate has dedicated his life to the art of BJJ and his passion shows with not only his performance on the mats but how he's built a team of like minded people who want to see each other succeed and improve. The price of membership is a steal compared to the other options available in the area and the attention and quality you'll recieve training here won't be matched elsewhere.
I have trained in my younger days at other facilities in other states. I am now getting back to what I enjoy, BJJ. This group is the most humble and genuine team with whom I have trained. The coaches and trainers are excellent teachers. No-one is to "HIGH UP" to roll. I appreciate all that I am learning at this facility.
Great gym with a lot of nice people. The head instructor, Nate Fenton, is an absolute beast and is extremely detailed with every position he shows. This is definitely the place to go if you want to learn jiu jitsu.
I’ve been training under Nate since I began Brazilian jiu jitsu four years ago and Breaking point is a home away from home for me now. Everyone in the gym is friendly and driven to help show you how the moves should be applied and how to control opponents before the submission is applied. If looking for an exciting new way to practice self defense as well as exercise I’d highly recommend visiting the gym
I walked into this gym in February of 2017 and never looked back. I am hooked. It has been nothing but a positive thing for me. The BJJ is technical, explained in detail and relevant. The community of people at this gym keep me looking forward to training as much as I can. I can't say enough good things about this gym. It has become more than just a place to train for me. It has become a home away from home.
Breaking point is the best place to train in the qc area. Everyone is real friendly and welcoming. The instructors are very technical and detailed. They are active competitors and active in learning and developing themselves in the sport. It is easily one of my favorite places to be.
I have been training at this gym for about a year and a half and about a year prior to that at a different gym. Coming in to my training I didn't know what to expect but after almost a year of training, I decided that I wanted to be competitive. I wanted to do more competitions and just to see how good I could get. That is when I switched to this gym. I could immediately tell that the coach was coaching because he truly loves the sport and wants his students to love it as well and that all the students were there for a purpose. As a prospective competitor, this gym environment was perfect. There are always a handful of students at the gym doing the local competitions and the coach has gone to every one of them. It is a kind of support that is hard to find in the area and it makes me feel like I am a part of a family. This gym has something for everyone. If you are just trying to get in better shape, if you want to have some idea of self defense, if you want to compete, whatever you want to do, this gym is a great place for you to feel comfortable trying to achieve those goals.
The people here are great. Everyone is nice, people are willing to help the beginners with the basics. Instruction in basics classes are gone over well and students are encouraged to ask questions. Teachers make sure you are using correct form when practicing. Would not go anywhere else.
The best place to train BJJ in the Quad Cities. The instructors and people who train here routinely win BJJ tournaments and MMA fights, yet it is still very welcoming to beginners. The mats are kept clean, and the instructors will roll with their students (unlike at some other gyms in the area).
Being on the mats at this place has been cathartic for me for several years now. Jujitsu is incorporated into every aspect of my life thanks to this place and the people I have met here. If you are looking for a gym to train, get back into or simply dip your toe I highly recommend giving us a shot. There a plenty of cookie cutter alternatives that simply fall short of what this group of like-minded practitioners have done with the time they have been given.
Best martial art gym I’ve ever trained at by far.
I've been training here for about 5 months now after several recommendations from people who had tried all the area gyms. It's a phenomenal atmosphere and great instruction. It's great to feel like part of a team instead of a number. They have such a great mix of everything from couch potatoes all the way up to professional BJJ practitioners. The entire staff does an excellent job of training at your level and not trying to get you to perform things you aren't ready for. Once you are ready though, they definitely do an excellent job of encouraging and motivating growth. It sucks someone seems to have had a bad practice. I'm not sure which instructor he had, but it's probably the guy that just won Masters Worlds in Las Vegas. I have over a decade of basics to elite level coaching experience. They definitely know what they are doing here.
Excellent gym. Knowledgeable instructors for all levels. This is a great place to get started in BJJ or pick it back up. A welcoming atmosphere where everyone is trying to improve themselves and their teammates.
Great place. Instructor's are great. Both my kids have been there well over a year and they are learning discipline and confidence. They have been a great gym to learn at and grow.
Without a doubt the best place to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the Quad Cities! Nate is a phenomenal instructor and all around good person. The atmosphere at Breaking Point is infectious in the most healthy and beneficial way!
Highly experienced Black belt Instructor with a competitive price point. The level of training and the price of membership can't be beat in the Quad cities. Gi or No Gi the skill and talent in the room speaks for itself. TAC TEAM Iowa Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Best gym in the quad cities
Great instruction, nice folks. Top level competitors.
Always excellent instruction and a great workout too. In my experience, they're by far the most welcoming gym for visitors in the area. I always try to drop in when I'm in town.
Everyone is genuinely cool. Very helpful and patient. Great workout and will keep going
A friend got me to drop in for a saturday class to try it out after talking about for a while. Really enjoyed it and felt welcomed right away.
Took a free class here and to sum up what I learned: The purple belt instructing me didn't know how to shrimp correctly (a whitebelt maneuver), they started the gym because they got upset it took "too long" to progress belts at a different location, and the 3 striped Brown belt instructor was a blue belt only 2.5 years prior. A progression that should take 4-6 years at a minimum. Also the highest belt within the actual school is the above mentioned brown belt. They are "under" a black belt in the region but the black belt doesn't actually give any instruction at the school. Could they be knowledgeable in some areas, sure. Could they do well at competition, perhaps. But if you want a better bet at learning BJJ the right way at the correct pace, I recommend looking elsewhere
