Really friendly gym, they are supportive of beginners and make you feel very welcome.
Absolutely wonderful coaches and members who make you really feel apart of something fantastic, venue location is perfect and anyone is welcome to this incredibly inclusive kick-boxing and kung fu gym
Awesome welcoming gym with a great focus on community. Safe for all type of people and a great place to start your martial arts journey.
This is a welcoming and inclusive club that promotes confidence for young members like my son. Highly recommended!
Nam Yang has been amazing support for my son through the difficult moments in secondary school for my son The teachers and the comunity around the school are amazing and we loved being part of it
This organisation not only betters it’s local community but is also a monument to the philosophies of martial arts. Completely epic club. Terrific coaches, super friendly welcoming. And they host exceptional inter-club. Shout out to Sam Byron-Winters, Christina Jo and Jack Davies. Superb team. Would recommend Nam Yang to anyone.
As all the other reviews state, Nam Yang Brighton is amazing!! The community spirit is inspiring, all the teachers are fabulous, you can see that it's not just about the training for them. The inclusivity, welcoming atmosphere and all the fantastic charity work they do is a big part of why I keep going back.. that and the fact its a brilliant work out!! I never thought at the ripe old age of 50 I would be saying "i love kickboxing!" I recommend to anyone willing to listen to me rave on about how great this community are. Thank you Nam Yang
A great eclectic mix of classes to train in with a variety of instructors. Within the club there's an emphasis on friendship and quality training, and externally Nam Yang's aim is to be of service to the wider community. All lead by Sam who is a lovely bloke and very knowledgeable in both martial arts and community work. A great place to be involved with.
Joining Nam Yang Brighton was the best desicion I made in 2020. I was struggling with feeling demotivated and was struggling to lose weight after the first lockdown. At the suggestion of a close friend who had done martial arts before, We started researching Martial arts classes in brighton. I was hesitant at first because I don't like to fight, but I saw it as a form of self-development. After my first kickboxing lesson with Sam, I was hooked! (Pun intended) Everyone at the classes were really friendly and I got a sense of community and inclusive vibe which is something that I didn't get from some of the other Martial arts schools we were looking at. I was really impressed with the outreach work they were doing with disenfranchised groups and people with disabilities. Everyone has a place at Nam Yang and even if you're struggling financially or seeking asylum then the club has systems in place to accomodate you. Sam is a great, friendly and patient instructor and always receptive to my many questions! I've been coming to classes for 3 months now and I've seen a real positive change. I've become more confident, my mental health has improved alot and I've lost weight (17Kg). In large part because of the work I've done with Sam at the kickboxing classes. If you're interested in martial arts training whether you're a beginner or have been training for a long time I cannot reccomend Nam Yang Brighton enough!
