I dropped in on a Wendesday noon class. Josh was the instructor and within one class he has made it onto my personal Mount Rushmore of best instructors I have had. Highly recommend, great culture, great rolls and top tier instruction. Would go back.
I started my BJJ journey at this gym and have been training here for a year now. The instructors are really knowledgeable, approachable, and encouraging—and the people here are equally amazing. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and supportive. The atmosphere is chill, with great rolls every time. Highly recommend!
I’ve had the opportunity to train at a few gyms around the country. This is the best one I’ve trained at hands down! Incredibly friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable coaches that care about folks improving and rolling safe. Do yourself a favor and drop by!!
My favorite gym I've trained at. Great set of instructors who are super approachable and knowledgable. Lots of good tough rolls with super friendly people. Midnight may not be the biggest gym but it definitely has the best vibes.
Great time dropping in from Orlando. Excellent group of guys and fun/challenging rolls!
I had a fun and welcoming experience the two times I went. The weekday evening class was well taught and the Saturday open mat was well attended. They played good music too.
Thom was incredibly welcoming, everyone in class was friendly and quickly introduced themselves, plus the class was fun. If you're around, I highly recommend you give these guys a visit!
Popped in for a Sunday Q&A/live training class led by Professor Aaron while I was visiting from out of town. This was my first time training at a nonprofit BJJ gym and I was very impressed. Aaron had great details when answering student questions, especially for the beginners. Everyone was very welcoming and the sparring was great. I'd recommend Midnight JJ to anyone in the area.
Best gym in the Seattle area - great rotation of high level instructors, lots of rolling, and a super welcoming environment
I was in town for work and dropped in to train. There was some great instruction and a lot of awesome rolls with people of varying skill levels. The hospitality was amazing. Everybody was very welcoming, which made it a very easy environment to train in. If you're visiting here or live locally, this is a spot you should definitely check out.
Very welcoming community here. Clean facility, fun atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Midnight Jiu Jitsu let me drop in for open mat and it was great! A lot of kind and skilled grapplers there. Also, I really appreciate their emphasis on good hygiene.
Very impressed with the welcoming community they’ve built at Midnight while providing digestible instruction for a variety of skill levels. Looking forward to returning soon.
Good solid place to train. The high level guys play a really intelligent game. Great place to pick up transitional elements that create a seamless pattern. Super nice folks...which is always the most important thing.
Stopped by for a visit as I was in town for a week, this a great place to train everyone was very welcoming, and got some great rolls.
I participated in three classes and an open mat while visiting Seattle. Very welcoming studio with knowledgeable and patient instructors. There are an amazing variety of skill levels here. I had very good and competitive rolls. Everyone was open to practice and many upper belts provided great feedback. A must go if you're in Seattle.
I visited Midnight while traveling for work in Seattle based on a friend's recommendation. Very clean and welcoming gym. The class attendees were a good variety of skill levels. We worked on some advanced half-guard technique for an hour, then did a bit of rolling. The instructor Thom was super patient, knowledgeable, and kind. 10/10 going back next time I'm in Seattle.
Dropped in a few weeks ago. Stellar group, eager to teach and learn, and very welcoming. Solid community!
We’re in Seattle for the weekend, so I popped in for Saturday open mat. The crew there was very welcoming. We had some great rolls and awesome mat chats. If you’re in the area, give them a shout. I will definitely be back!
I have been through midnight bjj a few times while visiting my fiancé’s family here in Seattle and can’t say how welcoming and nice my experience was. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for training! Bonus that it’s a nonprofit which is very cool
Had an awesome time dropping in for their Saturday open mat. Everyone was very welcoming and generous with their time. It was great to roll with everyone and experience new techniques live. Highly recommended!
love this place
I visited midnight jiu jitsu while I stayed in Seattle for a few weeks. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Whether you’re looking to try jiu jitsu for the first time or are looking for a new place to train, this gym offers great jiu jitsu in an awesome environment.
Everyone here is very welcoming and supportive. The techniques taught are what's current in the modern BJJ scene, but it's not solely flashy moves for the highlight reels. Everything is rooted in solid fundamentals. Beginners are run through a cohort program to introduce positions and techniques in a structured way without the pressure to perform with more advanced folks. Also love that it's a non-profit. The crew running things aren't out to get rich off BJJ, that keeps the vibe casual, there's no pressure to sign a contract for training, dues are very affordable, and I think it helps to set the tone for everyone attending.
Have a crazy color Gi you want to wear maybe even some out there nogi gear? Not a problem, Midnight Jiu Jitsu is all about technique, and having a damn good time while doing it. You will not find a more open learning environment with the depth of knowledge that Midnight provides. Welcome to the land of misfit toys.
Come for the training, stay for the dank memes.
