Had a great experience learning Kickboxing! Last type of martial arts I did was wrestling in high school and here they made me feel welcome! Kevin’s great teacher especially since I’m a beginner! I enjoyed how positive the vibes were and the community there! If I lived closer I would go often!
Posted 1 year agoI took Kevin Leung’s Muay Thai class and immediately got hooked. I had no experience and left wanting to shadow box every second of everyday. I definitely will be coming back to complete more training now that this is my full mental and physical discipline.
Posted 1 year agoI trained Muay Thai and boxing here as a total novice and had an awesome experience. The coaches at Axtion are fantastic—super knowledgeable, high energy, and really welcoming. They do a great job of making sure everyone, no matter your experience level, feels supported and challenged. The classes were a fun mix of technique, conditioning, and intensity to really challenge you. I always left feeling better than when I walked in. Highly recommend if you’re looking to get into striking or just want a motivating place to train!
Posted 1 year agoAxtion Club is hands down one of the best Muay Thai/boxing gyms in Seattle! The coaches are amazing! super knowledgeable, patient, and really care about helping you improve. The environment is awesome too. everyone is supportive and pushes each other to get better ❤️
The people that teach here really want you to succeed and to reach your potential and they do not want you to have a lazy mindset. Trever is the G.O.A.T and helped set me up to a holiday deal and it is definitely worth it!
I’m a heavier set guy and joined the gym after walking by and seeing everyone train. Best decision ever, coach mario is awesome and the people are very encouraging. If you give it a chance you will definitely be happy you did.
Attended the Muay Thai/Kickboxing-All Levels class with my husband (via Class Pass) and Mario was super patient and motivating throughout the class. We’re newbies at this so he put us aside to teach us the basics and it was super helpful - we really appreciated it! I do recommend bringing your own gloves and wraps, we travel often so we did use the gloves but it seems to be best to bring your own if you’re a germaphobe as they can be stinky, which makes sense lol I would definitely go again if I had the chance to. It was challenging (as someone who has no coordination) but fun! 😊
Moving to Seattle, I heard a lot about the Seattle Freeze and I wasn't sure how I would meet people. Not only has Axtion Club introduced me to an incredible community, but it has also helped strengthen me as a person. It can hard to get motivation at the end of a long work day, but the people and skill at Axtion make it worth it. Highly highly recommend the gym if you're looking to get into muay thai/boxing/jiu jitsu, build friendships, and/or build yourself up!!!
I trained at this club for several months and worked on fitness, boxing and Muay Thai in group classes and personal training with coach mario. The respect, professionalism and dedication the coaches and staff have is incredible. The space is welcoming and respectful. Always clean and well lit. If you’re a beginner or experienced this is a great place to train and push yourself.
Great first class doing Mauy Thai with Mario! I’ll definitely be back. Great class for experienced and beginners alike
I'm new to martial arts and unfortunately had to leave the area soon after coming to this gym but for the few session I went I had a lot of fun yet I worked hard obviously. You can tell the coaches knew what they were doing also very cheap for 1 months of unlimited classes only 100 bucks! I would definitely recommend going here...you never know when you might have to defend you or your loved ones
Went for the kickboxing trial class, it was super challenging for someone without any experience but very rewarding. You can tell the team cares about your growth. There are loaner gloves for guest use, I would recommend bringing your own wraps as there are no extras.
I’ve been taking private and group Muay Thai classes for the past month and absolutely love it! Mario is such a great instructor; detail-oriented but still puts fun in the class. Good location too; finding parking on weekdays is easy.
Trevor runs a great gym and Coach Nes is a fantastic coach. Highly recommend!
Knowledgeable friendly staff, great facility and an amazing work out everytime ..highly recommend!
Great owner, great instructors, overall great experience! Great place to train for all skill levels
Excellent friendly staff, great fun! My wife and I had a private lesson to try out Muay Thai for the first time. I had looked at the reviews for all the different gyms and Axtion Club seemed to be a good place. We couldn't make it for the group sessions so had a private lesson. We went around midday, and arrived half an hour earlier but they were accommodating and got started straightaway. We were the only people there. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our trainers were really good. We wanted photos, so every so often our trainers would take photos for us whilst we were training. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend going to Axtion Club if you want a go at Muay Thai. Thanks to Trevor and his team!
I’m in awe of this place. I’ve received some kind, motivating and tough coaching so far. It’s no-nonsense but also very encouraging! Just such a good community to learn from and make friends.
Been going here since August of last year and it's been the best decision I've made for my mental and physical health. I mainly go here for Muay Thai and Hiit classes (some sparring) because it works out my whole body. I really enjoy kicking too, after I finally got better lol. Because of all the amazing coaches, I've seen and felt a lot of improvements with my techniques and my strength. And didn't expect it to be this fast too. When I first started, I felt very uncoordinated and awkward (still feel a little sometimes). But all the coaches did such a nice job making me feel comfortable and meeting me at my level, while meeting everyone else's level in class. They're all sooo nice and sooo great at teaching. They have different styles of doing things but all are so effective. The community here too is spectacular. Everyone that comes is very down to earth, chill and are great with helping each other out. Those who are super advanced are amazing with helping beginners. They are so humble too. I am a very introverted person, and I would have never gone out of my way to do something like this or even spar if I weren't around people that I can be comfortable with. When I first did sparring, it was very very intimidating. But I am very thankful for the supportive and kind people that go here to make it easy. I do want to really emphasize how amazing the owners are also. Trevor and Jay are such great people. Very on top of things and builds relationships with their members. They are also amazing coaches. Their classes are probably my favorites to take. They are very good at explaining the hows, the whats and the whys. I hate going to a workout and having it just be the movements. When I do an exercise, I like to think about what my body is doing at the moment. And when they explain things as you move, it's very helpful. I want to be able to leave the workout and learn a lot from it.
First time trying the boxing 101, everyone else seems to have some experience before. I seem to be the only one with zero knowledge... But everyone is so nice. The class is so intense! One hour almost none stop. Almost pass out😵 gonna come back
Years ago I started learning Muay Thai at Ryan Clark’s gym in Bend, Oregon. Incredible experience. Took about 5 years off moving to Seattle and through the pandemic. Never thought I’d find a place like that again. And Axtion is…nothing like it haha. But not in a bad way. David is welcoming, patient, and talented. So are all the trainers I’ve had so far. There’s not a strong emphasis on ceremony. But there is every bit the same emphasis on technique, pushing yourself, and having fun that I really wanted to re-find. Great vibe from the other learners and practicers of all levels so far too. I’m too naturally uncoordinated and out of shape to be half decent at this for a long time, but I can definitely see myself continuing to keep coming back over the months. Thanks guys!
The instructors are great and offer lots of one on one attention. Whether training for a fight or just working on fitness, this is a great place to include in your regiment.
I’ve been going to Axtion Club for 4 months so far and have loved every minute. I’m a fit person, but had never tried boxing before. All of the instructors are welcoming, constructive, and excited to help you grow and learn. This a great community to learn/maintain fighting skills. Would recommend to newcomers and seasoned fighters alike.
Brilliant gym, David is so welcoming and Gerard ran a slick class. Very good for beginners or more experienced. 👏
Kim is awesome as a group instructor. Super patient, gives every student a lot of personal attention to correct posture and movement, and extremely encouraging. I have never taken a kick boxing class before this but I had a lot of fun in the first month's try-out. Will be renewing my membership for sure.
All the trainers in the club are so so good. They give personal attention to each and everyone in the boxing and the muay thai class. I joined the club when I moved to Seattle and I am so glad, I joined. Every class is new and all the trainers are so motivating. Everyday something new to learn, all those techniques in Boxing and Muay thai are so fun. Thank you so much.
They have some really great trainers. Everyone is really motivating and helpful! Each workout/session would have some new exercises and techniques and trainers help you learn at your own pace.
Top notch gym!! David is very knowledgeable and keeps the workouts demanding yet fun.
Full disclaimer: I currently teach at Axtion Club, but still take classes as an active student and did for almost a year before beginning teaching, so I leave this review purely from the perspective of a trainee. As far as overall combat gyms are concerned, this is one of the best in business even in comparison to gyms I've frequented around the globe. Axtion's best practice is helping newer enthusiasts really get into combat sports (e.g. Boxing and Kickboxing) without needing prior experience or training while still lending enough partner work and close instruction to keep sharp those who've already built a craft. The community is close-knit but full of positivity and lacking in any real drama- it's all business and getting in shape is the bottom line, but they have fun and are incredibly supportive at every level. The location is nice if you're within walking or easy commuting distance of Belltown, downtown, SLU, etc. if only a bit small compared to some of the larger "Fitness Centers" you'll see farther away. Gear is plenty and the classes are no joke- I've cross-compared to many other boxing gyms and I can safely say, if you listen and push yourself, you'll see serious results working out here. Whether you've never tried a combat sport but want to, used to but haven't in a while, or just feel like hitting a bag/mitts, I'd absolutely recommend you visit Axtion Club.
I've been going here ever since I moved to belltown and boy am i glad I did!. John has been great at helping me develop my Muay Thai techniques and is super diligent and patient. Every class I've had so far has been unique and keeps building on my arsenal of moves. I've also noticed that I feel limber and just more athletic going about my day. Highly recommend if you want to learn Muay Thai, develop flexibility and mobility or just shed some pandemic weight.
Best place to get fit
David and all the trainers at Axtion Club are top notch. Amazing workouts and David has even posted online workouts for his members during the shut down of non-essential businesses in Seattle. He takes care of his members!
I started coming a little more than a month ago and it has been great, the instructors, the vibe and the workout it's all great. It's friendly and challenging, if you are coming for the first time let your instructor know and they will put extra focus on you!
I've been training at axtion since 2014. I love this place with all my heart. Boxing has been very therapeutic in my life and I've gained discipline by attending. I've boxed at a few other gyms before this one and I can say David is the best in the business. You will be pushed to work hard but you won't ever be pushed to a place you're not capable of going. You won't get hurt here as the other members are respectful and patient. Don't miss out on this gym!
Have been going to this gym for last 4-5 months and this is definitely one of the best gyms in Seattle. They have great trainers and a very welcoming environment. Trainers give a lot of attention and help you push to achieve your maximum potential. Kickboxing/Muay Thai/Boxing classes give an intense workout and help you learn/improve your techniques. I'd highly recommend this gym to anyone with a fitness goal in mind.
Great place to get and stay in shape. David and his team keep the exercises fresh and applicable to all levels of fitness.
Best gym. Friendly trainers and good atmosphere.
Been coming here for almost two years now. Great people and great classes.
Went there for an intro lesson only to listen to coach Mike refer to me as “Big guy”. Not cool :) I doubt if this place is inclusive. The session was good and engaging, but the vibe wasn’t given the body shaming.
As a Fellow Martial Artist, I attempted to have a Short discussion with the Owner/Instructor about what he teaches & he was very Rude, Short with Me! Having Resided in Seattle's Belltown, the people tend to be very Snobbish! However as A Martial Artist there are core values, like: Humility, Kindness & Lack of Arrogance. I sensed a lot of arrogance in this Instructor. Having studied martial arts for over 40 years on 3 Continents, I have met many arrogant Students, Instructers & fighters! But, Seattle Residents are not known for being Humble. Thank you.
2.0 star rating 3/21/2019 I signed up for month trial. I went to 2 muay thai classes with John; they were superb - thoroughly went over the kicks, punches, pad holding, stances and combos. Then I tried out a 101 Boxing class .....there was NO instruction and an expectation of you would know what to do...even when there were odd numbers in partners - for the first boxing class at this gym and ever, I guess they just expect you to know the basics and what to do. Or expect you to be lost and eventually figure it out should you give it another try. Total fail. CONCLUSION: For a 101 boxing class, complete waste of time and resources. Watching Rocky would give me better boxing instruction than this gym. This class looked advanced/ intermediate. For muay thai, this place is awesome. I give 5 stars for the muay thai classes and -3 stars for the Boxing 101 class. I felt completely out of place for boxing. I could see how Grace's review from 5/16/15 can still apply to this class for boxing. DO NOT COME HERE FOR BOXING.
