This school is excellent. The vibe, students and instruction is all high level. I visit a lot of jiu jitsu schools and this one is definitely on the top of my list. If you are in Seattle and considering training, definitely stop by and try a class!
I moved to Seattle seven years ago as a brand-new black belt and trained at several places before deciding to train full-time at Framework.
The instruction has always been and continues to be top-notch. We are now in a brand-new space and have an incredibly welcoming environment with skilled practitioners.
I can’t say enough good things about Framework. It’s a very beginner-friendly gym to begin your BJJ training. Jacob and the other professors are extremely welcoming and help make new students feel like the most important person in the room. The lesson plans are very well thought out. Jacob clearly puts a ton of effort into planning and making sure each students training time is productive as possible. The gym has a very nice “community feeling” where everyone supports each other and wants to make the experience enjoyable. If you’re looking to start BJJ or change gyms you’d be crazy to not give framework a try.
I've been training on/off at Framework for the last few years and have absolutely loved. I've always felt welcomed and all of the instructors are very knowledge about. Highly recommend for all levels.
We were visiting from out of town and couldn't have felt more at home dropping in to their Saturday open mat. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming, we had a bunch of great rolls and great conversations.
Sorry we couldn't make it to happy hour with you guys! We'll make sure to stop in again next time we're in town!
Great school! Everyone here is friendly and the rolls are competitive.
The instruction was clear, and head coach was very welcoming.
Big mat space and clean school. I would recommend to friends in a heartbeat!
Framework has been my jiujistu home from the start and I couldn't be happier that I landed here. There are no egos, the environment is super friendly and relaxed, and cross training is welcomed. You're supported whether you want to be a casual practitioner or avid competitor. Highly recommend for some top notch instruction!
Best place to train BJJ/self-defense in Seattle. Everyone here is extremely welcoming and kind. The instructors are very skilled and provide feedback to every student. The training environment is top notch.
This is a great place to train. A great welcoming vibe. Beginner, women, non-binary friendly. The instruction is excellent and includes gi and no-gi, and there are classes seven days a week and multiple times a day.
Framework is a fantastic BJJ school. The instruction is top notch and the vibe is very welcoming and friendly. They also have a wide range of class times available, including morning and noon classes, which is perfect if your schedule doesn't allow for evening classes.
I started Jiu Jitsu 4 months ago and it’s been a great experience learning it at Framework! Instructor Jacob is amazing and everyone who trains here is super friendly. They have classes multiple times a day so it’s easy to come train whenever is right for your schedule.
Really wonderful gym with great coaches and atmosphere. Excellent place to begin, or for those with more advanced training. I highly recommend Framework!
Framework is a truly awesome gym. I've trained at numerous places around the US and haven't encountered anyone else who puts as much thought and intent into every single drill. I'm able to troubleshoot issues with the wealth of knowledge from upper belts and improve every day alongside great training partners. I wish I had found this gym earlier.
Jiu Jitsu newbie here and I am so happy to be learning from the folks at Framework! I tried out one other place that wasn't the right fit because they kind of just throw you in the deep end right away. I appreciate that Framework has a Foundations programs for beginners like me, and even a class on Wednesday night for Women and Non-binary folks! The place is clean and everyone is incredibly friendly; truly cannot say enough good things about Framework.
Great atmosphere, even better people, fantastic teachers. As someone new to jiu jitsu I feel very welcomed here and am constantly receiving pointers from folks to improve my game. Classes are easy to follow and effective at instilling the new skill being focused on! Additionally, I feel very safe and included as a woman on these jiu jitsu mats which is not always a given. Something for everyone from day 1 and beyond.
Frameworks BJJ Seattle is an amazing-welcoming environment. The instruction is excellent & systematic. The new location is spacious & always clean (although I do miss the boathouse vibes on Lake Union sometimes). I am a Nomad Blue Belt who always feels welcome training here on a punch pass. I would highly recommend Frameworks Seattle to anyone!
Great People + Great Culture + Great Instruction = Great Gym.
I've trained here a year and a half and can't say enough good things about it!
Wonderful place to train, regardless of where you are in your jiu jitsu journey.
Best gym I have ever been to with great coaches that are friendly and care about your progression. I love the sense of community I get every time I visit. You should definitely give this gym a shot!
Absolutely love this school. I've been training here for 2 years and my only regret is that I didn't start sooner

So happy I joined framework as a complete newbie to jiu jitsu! It's a really supportive and welcoming environment, a great place to learn something as fun and challenging as BJJ.
