My kids were initially hesitant to try martial arts, but I was pleasantly surprised! From the moment they stepped onto the mat, Joe created a welcoming and supportive environment that allowed them to thrive. Joe's dedication to helping each child reach their full potential is truly inspiring. He goes above and beyond to ensure that every student feels comfortable, engaged, and motivated to give their best. Through his guidance, my kids not only learned valuable martial arts techniques but also developed essential life skills like discipline, respect, and perseverance. The best part? They had an absolute blast! Joe's classes are filled with fun, exciting activities that keep the kids engaged and eager to learn. I cannot recommend Joe's martial arts classes enough. Midgard is a great gym with a great instructor. Joe’s style of teaching is very informative with the ability to break down complex concepts and techniques and simplify them for all ages and levels of experience. The gym has a welcoming atmosphere filled with respect and patience.

The gym just recently opened, but the layout is very neat and practical. Coach Joe is a great instructor and has taught high level grapplers and fighters for years. Midgard is great not only for learning grappling but also self defense. Classes are not only useful but fun for all ages. I urge anyone reading to stop by and try it out.

I have been going to adult classes since Midgard BJJ opened. I am a complete beginner to BJJ and Coach Joe and his family have been nothing but welcoming and encouraging. Coach Joe certainly knows what he is doing and gives high-level instruction for a very reasonable price. I have learned a lot in the 18 classes I have been to and would highly recommend Midgard BJJ for anyone starting out or for seasoned practitioners who want to improve their BJJ/grappling skills. They also offer striking classes in Kickboxing and MMA that have been challenging and fun. Midgard BJJ is also very kid-friendly and, if I had kids, I would certainly enroll them in the classes. Coach Joe has told me himself that teaching kids is one of his favorite things to do and that he aims to not only develop kids in BJJ, but also to give them the tools needed for future success in whatever they choose to do. BJJ/grappling are great ways for anyone to develop life skills. Overall, this is a great place with great people that I can’t recommend enough. Come in and sign up to see what I am talking about. If you want to learn Jiu Jitsu and submission grappling without all the fluff, this is the place. They are welcome by to newcomers with no experience, but also constantly turn out top tier competitive fighters. It takes a real level of mastery to be able to accommodate such a wide range of skill levels in their students, but they do it. Their staff are great with kids, too. I would definitely recommend this place.

Joe is a awesome teacher and a really cool guy. If you ever thought about getting into martial arts like me you better get in here quick before it fills up. I promise you won’t regret it. 5 star experience everyday coming into the gym.

I have been training with Coach Joe T for years. He is very knowledgeable in both the sport combat and self defense combat application. He is very technical and can adjust the techniques based on your abilities and in my case disabled veteran injuries he has helped me adapt to my present limitation. Agin he is not only an excellent teacher but can be a good friend to offer advice in and out of the mat.
My grandsons (9, 13) started training with Joe four years ago, and we are thrilled he’s now opened his own gym! He is an outstanding teacher, really good with kids. Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, self defense and kickboxing. Super clean. By Walmart. Try it out, you won’t be sorry.
